Furacilin is no less effective during pregnancy in eliminating inflammatory, infectious and allergic eye diseases, and is also used to treat wounds, burns and various skin diseases.

The active substance of furacilin is nitrofural, the action of which is aimed at destroying bacteria of various origins. But it is very important to remember that furacilin fights bacteria, it is not able to destroy viruses and fungi, so complex therapy is needed here, which can only be prescribed by a doctor. But like any other drug, furacilin has its side effects - dermatitis, irritation of the mucous membranes of the throat, mouth, external genitalia. Furacilin is contraindicated in allergic dermatoses and hypersensitivity to the active component of the drug.

Instructions for use of furacilin during pregnancy

Furacilin is a drug that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It is used only locally and externally. During pregnancy, only a doctor can prescribe it, since the use of this drug is not safe during the period of gestation due to the chemical composition of furacilin. Furacilin during pregnancy is used in the form of a solution or ointment for external use. In order to prepare a solution, you need to take 2 furacilin tablets and dissolve them in a glass of warm boiled water, but it will be better and safer for the health of the pregnant woman if you dissolve these same tablets in 200 ml of saline solution or in 200 ml of distilled water. This solution can be used for washing, gargling or treating purulent wounds and burns. For wounds and burns, it is necessary to apply sterile bandages soaked in a furacilin solution for 40 minutes. The prepared solution of the drug can be stored for up to 14 days in tightly sealed dark glass jars in a cool (8-15° C) place protected from light.

Gargling with Furacilin during pregnancy

Furacilin during pregnancy is primarily used for gargling, as its effectiveness in this case is very high. It prevents the proliferation of microbes in the oropharynx and thus promotes a faster recovery. After regular five-day use of Furacilin, microbes are completely destroyed. To prepare a solution for gargling, you need to take 5 Furacilin tablets, crush them and pour 1 liter of warm boiled water. Each time for gargling, you need to pour out one glass of solution. If desired, for better efficiency, you can add 1 tbsp of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the glass before gargling. Gargling should be done 2 times a day for 5-7 days. It is worth remembering that before using Furacilin, you must consult a doctor, since the drug is not homeopathic and therefore it has its own contraindications, as well as side effects.

Douching with furacilin during pregnancy

Douching with furacilin during pregnancy is carried out due to inflammation of the genitals, infectious and bacterial diseases of the vagina and genitals. But it is worth remembering that douching during pregnancy is not a desirable procedure and can only be prescribed by a gynecologist after an examination, since there is a risk of introducing an infection from the vagina to the uterus. In order to prepare a solution, you need to take 2 furacilin tablets and dissolve them in a glass of warm boiled water. For maximum safety and correctness of the procedure, it is recommended to use a special gynecological syringe. The solution must be administered very slowly so that it does not get into the uterus. The procedure is carried out in the evening before bedtime. Douching with furacilin for preventive and cleansing purposes is not recommended, since it is an antiseptic that can destroy the natural microflora of the vagina. In this case, douching is carried out using infusions of medicinal herbs and homeopathic preparations.

But unfortunately, washing with furacilin is not able to completely cope with the disease, since it is an antiseptic, not an antifungal drug, so it acts temporarily. To treat thrush in pregnant women, doctors most often prescribe homeopathic drugs - capsules, tablets, gynecological suppositories, etc.

Furacilin is a broad-spectrum antiseptic, so it is often used by pregnant women to treat various bacterial and infectious diseases, but it is worth remembering that furacilin during pregnancy can only be prescribed by a doctor and only if necessary, when there is no risk to the normal course of pregnancy and the health of the child and mother.
