The drug Lindaxa is widely used in treatment regimens for obesity, as it has an anorexigenic effect.

Indications Lindaxa for weight loss

Lindaxa is used:

  • in case of nutritional (alimentary) obesity, if the body mass index (BMI) is higher than 30 kg per m²;
  • in case of nutritional (alimentary) obesity, if the body mass index is higher than 27 kg per m² and there are complications associated with excess weight (for example, type 2 diabetes mellitus, or signs of dyslipoproteinemia).

Release form

Lindaxa is produced in hard gelatin capsules, yellow in colour, with a brownish cap and the inscription “10” or “15”.

The capsules contain a light-colored powdery substance.

The active ingredient is sibutramine, in the amount of 10 or 15 mg.

The cardboard package usually contains three or nine blister strips, with 10 capsules in each strip.

Names of Lindax analogues:

  • Goldline (capsules).
  • Meridia (capsules).
  • Slimia (capsules).

Pharmacodynamics

Lindaxa has an anorectic effect, increasing the feeling of satiety. The effect of the drug is achieved under the influence of residual metabolic products of the active ingredient - primary and secondary amines, which inhibit the reuptake of monoamines (these are norepinephrine and serotonin).

Simultaneously with the increase in the amount of neurotransmitters inside the synapses, stimulation of adrenoreceptors and central serotonin receptors occurs. The result of such processes is a decrease in appetite and an increase in energy productivity (fat consumption).

Stimulation of β-adrenergic receptors helps to reduce the expression of brown lipid tissue.

The active ingredient sibutramine does not provoke the release of monoamines and does not inhibit MAO.

Pharmacokinetics

The absorption of the active ingredient is complete, with a pronounced intensity of metabolism upon initial entry into the liver. When Lindax is taken orally in an amount of 20 mg, the maximum content of the active ingredient is detected after 80 minutes, and the maximum content of active metabolic products is detected after 180 minutes.

The binding of sibutramine to proteins is 97%, and that of active metabolic products is 94%. Distribution in tissues is satisfactory.

Metabolism occurs in the liver with the formation of mono-dimethyl and di-dimethyl variants of active metabolic products.

The half-life of the active ingredient can be 70 minutes, and that of the active metabolic products – 14-16 hours.

Excretion occurs through the kidneys.

Kinetic properties cannot change in the presence of insufficient renal function, and also cannot depend on the severity of obesity, gender or age characteristics.

Dosing and administration

Lindaxa is prescribed according to an individual regimen, taking into account the reaction to the drug and the effect of its use.

Lindaxa is usually taken once a day, in the morning, before or during breakfast. The capsule is taken whole and washed down with water, tea or compote.

The initial dose of the drug is 10 mg. If the effect of the drug is insufficient (for example, the patient loses less than 2 kg of excess weight per month), the dosage can be increased to 15 mg. If in this case the effect of the treatment is still weak, then further administration of Lindax is considered irrational.

Also, the drug is stopped after 3 months if during this time the patient has not lost 5% of his weight.

Lindax treatment is stopped if the patient experiences a weight gain of more than 3 kg.

The total duration of Lindax intake is no more than 2 years, since longer treatment with the drug has not been tested for safety and effectiveness.

Reviews of Lindax

Lindaxa is a drug that doctors use to alleviate the condition of patients suffering from obesity. However, this drug has long been of interest to those who want to get rid of extra pounds, and at the same time do not have such a diagnosis as obesity.

Is it possible to take Lindaxa in cases where the percentage of excess weight and BMI are not threatening to human health? Will this drug cause harm? What do experts think about this? What feedback do users leave about taking Lindaxa?

Doctors' reviews

The drug Lindaxa is not such a harmless remedy as many people think. It is not for nothing that this medicine is one of those that is sold only with a doctor's prescription.

Lindaxa has a large number of side effects, and many of them pose a serious health risk. That is, by solving the problem of excess weight, you can significantly "undermine" the health of the entire body.

Thus, taking Lindax is often accompanied by nervous system and mental disorders. There are known cases when patients who were treated with the drug for a long time brought themselves to suicide - their attitude to reality changed so much. Although at the beginning of treatment, side effects were expressed only in a slight feeling of anxiety and general discomfort.

In addition, there is a greater load on the heart when taking the medication:

  • the pulse quickens;
  • the pressure rises;
  • the vessels dilate;
  • a person begins to feel how hard his heart is beating (especially at night, when at rest).

Lindaxa also affects the digestive system. With the suppression of appetite, constipation, thirst, and sometimes nausea appear.

Women may experience irregularities in their menstrual cycle and abdominal pain.

Considering the listed unpleasant symptoms accompanying treatment with Lindaxa, doctors strongly advise against taking it without a prescription and without special indications. In addition, Lindaxa is prescribed exclusively for alimentary (nutritional) obesity. If excess weight is the cause of hormonal disorders or other pathological conditions, then in such cases, taking Lindaxa is definitely contraindicated.

Reviews from those who have lost weight

Reviews from people who have already tried Lindax on themselves vary greatly. And there is nothing strange about this, because all organisms are different and react differently to the drug, and the reasons for excess weight cannot be the same for everyone.

Those who previously suffered from obesity and took Lindax as prescribed by a doctor often note the effectiveness of the drug. However, they all draw attention to the fact that taking the drug must necessarily be combined with diet and feasible physical exercise. As a rule, the daily routine and nutrition are controlled by the attending physician, nutritionist and exercise therapy doctor.

But in many cases Lindaxa is taken without the knowledge of a medical specialist. In such situations, opinions are divided:

  • Most users believe that Lindaxa really helps to lose weight, but the number of side effects that occur during treatment overshadows all the joy of losing weight; in addition, most of the kilograms return after losing weight;
  • fewer users report delight from taking Lindax and seek to undergo treatment with the drug again.

So what should you do: take or not take Lindaxa for weight loss, since the reviews of the drug are so contradictory?

The answer is clear: if the drug was prescribed by a doctor, take Lindaxa under his supervision. If you want to undergo a course of treatment with the drug on your own, and at the same time not harm your health, listen to the following advice:

  • undergo a comprehensive examination – diagnosis of the causes of your excess weight;
  • take the necessary tests to find out exactly what is preventing you from losing weight;
  • visit a nutritionist who will review your diet and draw attention to any mistakes or incorrectly composed diet;
  • visit a gym or fitness center, where you will be provided with a personal trainer: it is not necessary to work out with him constantly (although it is desirable), sometimes a couple of sessions with a specialist are enough so that in the future you can work out well on your own.

If, based on the diagnostic results, you are still prescribed Lindax, then you must definitely take the prescribed course, but under the supervision of a doctor. Only in this case can reviews of Lindax be entirely positive.
