A follicular cyst during pregnancy is unlikely, since any ovarian neoplasm leads to temporary infertility, since the cyst prevents the formation of new follicles. But sometimes with a follicular cyst, pregnancy can occur in a healthy ovary.
In the vast majority of cases, pregnancy proceeds normally and the woman gives birth to a healthy child, however, there is a risk of cyst torsion, which requires immediate surgical intervention; maintaining the pregnancy in this case is quite difficult.
The function of the ovaries is to regularly release the egg. Quite often, cyst formation occurs in parallel to this. In each menstrual cycle, several follicular sacs begin to mature in the ovary. Each sac contains fluid that is necessary to nourish the egg. At a certain point, one or more sacs rupture and the egg comes out - ovulation occurs. In some cases, the follicle develops without the egg being released, or after its release, a lot of fluid remains in the sac. The accumulation of fluid leads to the development of a benign ovarian formation - a follicular cyst. Usually, such a cyst is small in size, but such formations can sometimes reach up to 10 cm in diameter. Such cysts usually do not require special treatment and resolve on their own after a few weeks. A follicular cyst is the most common type of ovarian neoplasm among women of childbearing age.

Causes of Follicular Cyst During Pregnancy
The development of a follicular cyst usually begins due to endocrine disorders in the body, which leads to increased production of estrogens and menstrual cycle disorders. Usually, such body failures are facilitated by heavy mental and physical stress.
Also, a follicular cyst can develop due to a violation of the regimen, acute infectious diseases, nutritional disorders (prolonged fasting, overeating), inflammatory processes in the genitals (adnexitis, salpingitis, etc.), after abortions, venereal infections, uncontrolled use of contraceptives, prolonged sexual abstinence or frequent change of sexual partners.
A follicular cyst during pregnancy usually appears before conception.
Symptoms of Follicular Cyst During Pregnancy
A follicular cyst during pregnancy is usually asymptomatic and is detected by chance during a specialist examination or during a routine ultrasound. But cysts that reach 8 centimeters or more in diameter can cause pain and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen. Usually, the discomfort increases during sexual intercourse, physical exertion, and sudden movements.
During pregnancy, the cyst may progress with complications, including miscarriage. During this period, the risk of twisting the cyst stalk, rupture of the cyst or ovary increases. In this case, the woman develops a symptom of acute abdomen (severe pain, dizziness, nausea, etc.).
Diagnostics
A follicular cyst during pregnancy can be detected during a gynecological examination, when the specialist feels a round tumor, quite tight, with a smooth surface. When pressing on the cyst, the woman does not feel pain (or feels minor pain).
To confirm the diagnosis, the doctor may refer you for an ultrasound examination, where a spherical formation with liquid contents is visualized. If it is difficult to determine the diagnosis, a diagnostic laparoscopy (examination of internal organs using an endoscope) is prescribed.

Treatment of follicular cyst during pregnancy
A follicular cyst during pregnancy usually does not require special treatment and resolves on its own after a few weeks.
In other cases, the main treatment is aimed at restoring the woman's hormonal background. As a rule, a three-month course of hormonal therapy (oral contraceptives) is prescribed, after which the hormonal balance is restored and the cyst disappears. Doctors also prescribe a complex of vitamins, homeopathic remedies that help speed up the resorption process and reduce the risk of recurrence of the cyst. Medicines are aimed at normalizing the functioning of the ovaries, vitamins help strengthen the body's defenses.
Sometimes doctors recommend that women lose weight, since an active lifestyle, a balanced diet and losing a few kilograms help normalize hormonal levels without additional medication.
In case of endocrine disorders, the treatment complex may include drugs to restore thyroid function.
Folk treatment of follicular cysts helps to speed up the healing process and strengthen the body. Golden mustache tincture helps to cope with gynecological problems well; it should be taken on an empty stomach in the morning and evening, 10 drops diluted in a small amount of water (30-40 minutes before breakfast). Each day, the dose is increased by one drop and the total one-time amount is brought to 35 drops, after which the dose is reduced daily by one drop and again brought to 10 drops twice a day. Treatment with golden mustache includes five courses; starting from the third course, you need to switch to taking the tincture three times a day.

Prevention
A follicular cyst during pregnancy in most cases does not threaten the health of the mother and child, but there is still a risk of developing serious complications, so before planning a pregnancy (especially if there is a predisposition to ovarian cysts), you should follow a number of preventive measures that will help prevent the formation of a cyst. First of all, you should promptly and completely cure all inflammatory diseases of the genitals, you also need to take care of normalizing the hormonal background. Hormonal imbalance in the body occurs as a result of excess weight, severe nervous shock, sleep problems, improper digestion, smoking, etc.
Prognosis of follicular cyst during pregnancy
Follicular cysts during pregnancy have a favorable prognosis. As a rule, the formation in the ovaries disappears without additional treatment by the 20th week of pregnancy.
However, a cyst can progress and cause serious complications, so when a cyst is detected, the woman is placed under strict supervision and the development of the formation is monitored.
Follicular cyst during pregnancy is a fairly common diagnosis among young women today. Usually, such a cyst does not require treatment and disappears on its own by the 20th week of pregnancy. In case of complications, surgical treatment may be required, but it is extremely difficult to maintain the pregnancy in this case.
Pregnancy after follicular cyst
A follicular cyst develops as a result of hormonal imbalances in a woman's body or inflammation of the appendages. Usually, the neoplasm develops completely asymptomatically and is detected during a doctor's examination or ultrasound. The formation resolves in most cases on its own, without special treatment. When such a cyst is detected, doctors simply observe its development; if necessary, hormonal agents (oral contraceptives) and vitamins can be prescribed. After the cyst resolves, pregnancy in the vast majority of cases occurs without any particular problems and proceeds without complications.
A follicular cyst during pregnancy does not pose a danger to the health of either the woman or her child. Usually, by the 20th week, the cyst resolves on its own.
