A simple and useful replacement for store-bought washing and restorative products can be prepared at home. To strengthen the hair, many women actively use ingredients such as baking soda powder, clay, mustard powder and mustard oil, raw egg yolk. [ 1 ] Recent studies have shown that water-soluble peptides of chicken egg yolk stimulate hair growth by inducing the production of vascular endothelial growth factor. [ 2 ]

We offer you several popular and simple recipes.

  • Take one tablespoon of mustard powder, dilute it in 500 ml of warm water, apply it to the scalp. You can massage it lightly. There should be a slight burning sensation - this is normal, do not rush to wash it off: this is how the activity of the hair follicles is stimulated. Then rinse your head with a sufficient amount of warm water.
  • Take one or two egg yolks, remove the thin shell (so that it does not get tangled in the hair), apply to damp hair, massage. Rinse with warm water (not hot!), then rinse with water with vinegar or lemon juice added.
  • Mix two tablespoons of dry clay and warm water until it reaches a creamy consistency. You can also add a little essential oil (optional). Spread the product over the scalp, leave for a couple of minutes, and rinse with water and lemon juice.
  • Mix baking soda with water, apply to wet strands, massage. Wash off with warm water with lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Don't worry: your locks won't be greasy, they'll wash off perfectly and even become stronger.

Herbal Shampoos for Hair Loss

Most natural herbal products do not contain harmful components SLS, SLES and parabens, which can cause irritation of the eyes, skin, and have oral toxicity. [ 3 ] At the same time, the percentage of "naturalness" of these products can be close to 100%, for example, this applies to special Ayurvedic cosmetics, Indian detergents. And these are not just natural hygienic cosmetics, but medicinal products for improving the health of the skin and hair.

Which of these herbal products can be easily purchased, for example, at the nearest pharmacy?

  • Burdock shampoo – this product is produced by many cosmetic companies. It is affordable, and its effectiveness in weakening and losing hair has been proven many times. Burdock (aka large burdock) activates local blood circulation, strengthens hair follicles, prevents breakage and split ends. The most famous manufacturers of this shampoo are Elfa Pharm, Pharma Bio Laboratories, Aromatika, Recipes of Grandma Agafia, Doctor Sante. [ 4 ]
  • Herbal shampoo Jinda is a Thai cleanser, representing a series of products for the treatment of alopecia, fungal infections, and for improving hair growth. Jinda not only stops hair loss, but also slows down the process of graying, nourishes the skin and adds radiance and shine.
  • Shampoo with red pepper provides an irritating, restorative and strengthening effect, stimulates the activity of hair follicles. Capsaicin contained in red pepper activates receptors-1 (VR1/TRPV1), which control hair growth in humans. [ 5 ] Capsaicin also has an anti-sclerotic effect, increases the metabolic rate, has a protective antioxidant effect on the liver in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. [ 6 ] The effectiveness of such a product is truly amazing, but its use is not indicated for all people. For example, contraindications include a tendency to allergies, excessive sensitivity of the skin, wounds or scratches in the scalp, the presence of rashes or pustules, too dry ends, frequent irritation of the skin under the scalp. If after applying such a product you feel a pronounced burning sensation or pain, and the skin turns red, or a rash appears, then such a drug is not suitable for you, and you will have to refuse it.
  • Onion shampoo is somewhat similar in its mechanism of action to pepper shampoo. However, its effect is still softer and easier to perceive. Onion preparation strengthens weak curls, activates metabolic processes, saturates and nourishes the skin and hair follicles. [ 7 ]
