The Maggi diet is a protein diet, the essence of which is that it saturates the body with proteins and limits the consumption of fats and carbohydrates. Without receiving energy sources from outside, its own fat deposits are used. According to those who have tried this diet, up to 5 kg of weight is lost per week, it is tolerated quite comfortably, does not cause a feeling of hunger, the results last for a long time.
The type of nutrition known as the Maggie diet helps to reduce weight and volume, as they say, without much effort. Although living a whole month according to a strict regime and schedule, eating only what is indicated on the list, with a big stretch can be called an easy way to lose weight. The menu for 4 weeks is scheduled by day, deviation from it means a breakdown and abandonment of the idea or a new start from scratch.
In four weeks, the body's metabolism should normalize and excess weight should go away. The diet is protein-rich, but balanced, so it is considered safe for a healthy person. If you exit the diet correctly, the result will last for a long time, and then the method can be used again.
The menu consists of food that stimulates chemical reactions for the processing of fatty tissues. The basis of the diet is eggs in combination with citrus fruits. Eggs contain a lot of protein and minerals, citrus fruits saturate with vitamin components. Features of the menu:
- breakfasts are the same for the first two weeks;
- lunch and dinner strictly according to schedule;
- it is not possible to exchange one product for another;
- sugar is prohibited, substitutes are allowed;
- salt and pepper cooked dishes, add onion and garlic;
- chemical seasonings are prohibited;
- do not use oils;
- drink more water, regular or diet soda;
- Snacks are allowed: carrots, salad, cucumber.
For convenience, the menu for the entire period is printed on paper and attached to the kitchen in a visible place so that all the rules are strictly followed.
Curd version
The uniqueness of the Maggi diet is that it can please all gourmets: not only is it designed for different periods, but also for each period there are both egg and curd options. They are equivalent, the only difference is that instead of classic eggs, low-fat homemade cheese is used. Why is that? Obviously, both products are rich in animal proteins, which are quickly absorbed by the human body.
Thanks to the products included in the diet, the body receives proteins and other nutritional components, as well as minerals and vitamins. The ban is imposed on potatoes, animal fats, broths, sweet fruits, sugar-containing products and drinks, alcohol, sauces such as mayonnaise, which contain useless or harmful components, too many calories and fats.
From the above it is clear that cottage cheese does not mean that those losing weight are supposed to eat only cottage cheese. In fact, the diet is varied and balanced, but has its own subtleties. Features of the diet:
- variety of food;
- breakfast without meat;
- prohibition on product substitution;
- avoiding fried foods;
- useful cooking technologies;
- tea and coffee – without restrictions, outside of meal times;
- the morning of all days, except for the 3rd week, begins with 150g of cheese and citrus or fresh juice;
- The second and fourth weeks are almost the same.
The curd method promises weight loss of at least 10 kg per month. In addition, the body is cleansed of toxins and enriched with calcium, the main building material.
Egg variant
The classic Maggi diet is based on chicken eggs as a source of protein, which is necessary to start the chemical processes of weight loss. That is, reducing the amount of fat, which has a habit of being stored in reserve. They talk about the barley version because in the process of improvement, versions appeared for those who do not eat eggs. It turned out that they can be replaced by homemade cottage cheese, which contains no less diverse proteins.
- But let's return to the classics, that is, to eggs, which are more common in the diet than other products.
It goes without saying that this is a unique storehouse of vital components. They contain a huge supply of useful substances - building materials and food for embryos. And this is no coincidence, because it is from the egg that a variety of animals of the reptile and bird classes are born.
- Chicken eggs are included in the set of everyday food products, they are used in many culinary and confectionery recipes, they are easily digested and absorbed by the body.
Nutritionists explain why they have become the main ingredient in the weight loss diet system by the fact that proteins catalyze the chemical processes of fat breakdown in the body, causing their accumulations to “melt”.
- It has been studied that the absorption of a product depends on the duration of cooking. A hard-boiled egg takes longer to digest than a soft-boiled one.
The attractiveness of the method is that it is not too monotonous. The diet includes all natural products that we eat in our daily menu. Each of the 4 weeks is a kind of bar in the general weight loss plan, with recommended products and dishes included in special tables.
Buckwheat diet menu
If you need to lose weight quickly, resort to a strict but short-term buckwheat diet. This express diet exists in two versions: a mono-diet and one supplemented with kefir.
It is important to cook the cereal correctly. You don't need to boil it, but put it in a thermos and steam it. You can't add salt or seasonings. You can eat it in unlimited quantities, spread over 4 meals, and drink a lot of water.
For those who find it difficult to endure such restrictions, 1% fat kefir is included in the diet. It is permissible to drink one liter per day, but porridge is limited to 250 grams in dry form.
Usually the duration of the buckwheat diet is 4-7 days. During this time, it allows you to get rid of 5 to 7 kg. You need to get out of it as long as possible, observing the principles of low-calorie nutrition.
The correct menu for 1 week
The optimal safe for health period spent on the Maggi diet is considered to be 7 days. During this time, it is possible to lose 3-5 kg. There are two versions: egg and cottage cheese. You need to decide which of these products, repeated day after day, and sometimes several times a day, is more suitable.
The correct menu for the Maggi cottage cheese diet:
- Monday – one type of fruit in unlimited quantities. These can be pears, apples, kiwi, oranges, apricots;
- Tuesday – chicken breast;
- Wednesday – diet bread, hard cheese, tomato;
- Thursday – any fruits;
- Friday – cottage cheese, boiled vegetables;
- Saturday – fruits;
- Sunday – boiled chicken, vegetables, citrus;
It is also allowed to have snacks between main meals with products present in the menu of that day. But it is very important to eat at the same time. Drinking plenty of fluids is another condition of the Maggie diet. Proteins in large quantities require drinking plenty of fluids to remove their decay products.
Menu for week 2
If no complications arise and there is a desire to continue, you need to use the following menu for the 2nd week:
- Monday – hard cheese, fresh vegetable salad (cucumber, tomato, pepper), orange;
- Tuesday – cottage cheese, grapefruit;
- Wednesday – cottage cheese, orange;
- Thursday – cottage cheese;
- Friday – cottage cheese, bread;
- Saturday – fruit salad;
- Sunday – baked chicken, tomato.
Menu for week 3
For those who are able to continue, the menu for the 3rd week does not contain strict rules for specific food intake, but only defines the products for each day:
- Day 1: any fruit in any amount except bananas, grapes, dates, mangoes, figs;
- Day 2: any vegetables, raw or cooked, except potatoes;
- Day 3: Fruits;
- Day 4: dietary prepared fish, green vegetables;
- Day 5: meat, fresh vegetables or salads;
- Day 6: one type of fruit;
- Day 7: Fruits of one type.
Menu for week 4
If the 3rd week included a lot of fruits containing carbohydrates, and therefore gradually led away from the protein diet, then the 4th, most likely, is an adaptation to the return of the usual habitual diet, but without excesses, because someone who has endured so many restrictions will not pounce on food with the risk of quickly regaining weight.
The menu for the 4th week is designed for a specific day and you can distribute the products between breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks at your discretion. And it looks like this:
- Day 1: 200g meat, 100g tuna, one piece of bread, 3 tomatoes and 3 cucumbers, grapefruit;
- 2nd day: orange (100g melon is possible), 200g meat, tomatoes (3 medium fruits), 4 cucumbers;
- Day 3: any citrus fruit, 50g of cottage cheese, the same amount of hard cheese, 2 cucumbers and 2 tomatoes, 2 pieces of toast bread;
- Day 4: chicken, orange or grapefruit, 3 tomatoes, cucumber, 1 toast;
- Day 5: 200g of cottage cheese, fresh vegetables or salads, orange;
- Day 6: 200g chicken fillet, toast, 50g feta cheese, 2 cucumbers and 2 tomatoes, grapefruit;
- Day 7: 100g tuna, 50g cottage cheese, tomato, cucumber, boiled vegetables, orange.
Maggi Diet Recipes for 4 Weeks
The advantage of the Maggi diet is that you don't have to count calories, measure portions, limit yourself in spices, and the recipes for each day are simple and straightforward. The diet does not burden you with the complexity of preparation, but requires scrupulous adherence to the diet, eating at the same time. You cannot change the food intended for a specific week and day for another.
A mandatory condition is drinking plenty of fluids (at least 2 liters per day), excluding fruits from the list of products: bananas, grapes, figs, dates; meat: pork and lamb. Cooking methods should be dietary - boiling, baking, stewing.
- Week 1: The menu includes boiled eggs (the recipe for their preparation is known to everyone), meat, chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables. Dinner on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday consists of boiled lean meat. To prepare it, you need to use beef or veal. After washing the pulp in water, place it in water, add salt, bay leaf, raw onion, other spices to taste and boil until done.
Tuesday and Sunday lunch consists of boiled chicken: it is prepared similarly to the previous recipe, but the skin must be removed first, since fats are concentrated in it. Cold chicken meat is very tasty, so after cooling it is good to put it in the refrigerator.
Friday dinner consists of fish - the simplest recipe is to boil it. You can buy fillets or whole carcasses of lean varieties: hake, pollock, blue whiting, pollock, clean and boil in water until done, adding various seasonings.
- Week 2: Lunches for 6 days and Sunday dinner consist of boiled and baked meat dishes. To bake the meat, you will need an oven. After seasoning, wrap it in foil, place it on a baking sheet and bake at 180 0 C. Readiness can be checked by piercing it with a knife; the release of juice with blood indicates insufficient readiness.
On Fridays, they eat fish for lunch. It can also be baked: put it on foil, sprinkle with salt, caraway seeds, cut onion into rings, and depending on the season, put tomato slices or lemon wedges on top. It turns out to be a juicy and tasty dish.
- Week 3: fruits, raw and cooked vegetables predominate, only fish on Thursday, and meat on Friday. The advantage of this diet is the unlimited consumption of plant foods for the entire period. To avoid getting bored with the same vegetables, they can be combined in various salads:
- finely chop the cabbage, apple, grate the carrot, squeeze out the lemon juice, lightly sprinkle with vegetable oil;
- chop cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, sprinkle with sesame seeds, season with oil;
- Bake the eggplants, after cooling, peel them, cut into cubes, combine with scalded onions, raw tomatoes, garlic pressed through a squeezer, add a little sunflower oil.
- Week 4: Tuna appears on the menu on Monday and Friday. You can use canned fish, after removing the pieces of fish and letting the oil drain on a paper towel. But if you can buy raw steaks, then those cooked in a slow cooker are much tastier and healthier.
The bottom is lined with halved cherry tomatoes, on top of which is placed a steak salted with various spices, sprinkled with balsamic vinegar. After 10 minutes, it is turned over to the other side, and after the same amount of time it is ready.
Other recipes

Egg recipes:
- poached egg: boil water in a saucepan, add salt, a little vinegar, stir in a circle to form a funnel and break the egg into it. After 2-3 minutes, remove with a slotted spoon;
- break an egg into a zip-lock bag, chop some greens into it, cut the tomato into cubes and the bell pepper into strips, add salt and pepper, close it and place it in boiling water for 5-7 minutes.
Recipes for Maggi's cottage cheese diet:
- young zucchini cut into slices lengthwise, bake on the grill or in the oven. Mash the cottage cheese well, add chopped dill, add salt, put as a filling and roll up;
- cut the tomato into slices, add pepper, put lightly salted cottage cheese on top, sprinkle with sesame seeds;
- Place eggplant circles in a frying pan without oil and let brown. Place thin tomato circles on top, sprinkle with grated hard low-fat cheese and let it melt in the microwave.
Recipes for boiled vegetables on the Maggi diet:
- separate the cauliflower into florets, boil until done, grate the cheese while it is hot;
- boil beets, carrots, cut into cubes, combine with boiled green peas, squeeze lemon juice, lightly drizzle with sunflower oil;
- Scald white shredded cabbage with boiling water, put in a saucepan, chop onion, carrot, pepper, cut tomato. Salt, sprinkle with refined sunflower oil. Simmer under the lid until done, do not add water, the vegetables will give juice.
Recipes for fish, pollock on the Maggi diet:
- fillet the pollock, mince the onion, beat in the egg, mix well, form meatballs, steam;
- Cut the natothenia into pieces, place it on a layer of onion rings, carrots, beets, sprinkle with herbs, pepper, salt. Cover with a pillow of the same vegetables. Simmer on low heat for at least an hour;
- Place the hake carcass in foil, put a layer of vegetables on top: eggplant, tomatoes, onions, wrap and bake in the oven.
