A Brief Introduction to the Atkins Diet and Its Creator
The author of this diet was recognized with the honorary title of "man of the year" in 1985. And only after his death, Atkins' fans learned that he was ill and had heart problems. What is the Atkins diet
"Reduction phase" - this is what the first two weeks of the diet are called. During the first two weeks, you should reduce the intake of carbohydrates to 20 grams. One ripe apple contains 15 grams. Your body will burn fat and exist precisely because of this, since you have deprived it of the opportunity to do what it is used to.
You will stop gaining weight due to carbohydrates and natural fat burning will occur (5-10 kg in two weeks). This is not a joke, but a proven fact.
Gradually, after the first period, increase your carbohydrate intake from 30 to 100 grams per day. Note: doctors say that for normal life, a person needs 300-400 grams of these same macronutrients (carbohydrates).
The most enjoyable diet
The question arises, what to eat? Here comes the most pleasant moment: eat as much of the fattest meat or poultry as you can.
Fat is our engine during the diet. Do not deny yourself seafood or eggs, you are allowed to eat leafy greens, any onion, cabbage and olives with mushrooms. The only thing that is prohibited is pasta, fruits and cereals with bread.

- Meat food is proteins, and proteins are muscles. Muscle mass will be preserved, which is a very positive side of the diet.
Negative aspects of the diet
- Maximum fats and minimum carbohydrates are a novelty for the body. It is not used to this. Who knows what will happen if a car that runs only on gasoline is filled with gas? You shouldn't get carried away.
- Scientists have proven that the Atkins diet in some cases leads to serious health problems. Heart disease, diabetes, kidney stones, gallbladder problems, bone tissue and immunity. Women are even more afraid to think about the consequences of such an effective diet. There is a possibility that a woman will not be able to have children after the diet.
- During the Atkins diet, you may suffer from headaches, nausea, mood swings, or bad breath. You may also feel sick and risk constipation – this is what worsens the wonderful benefits of the Atkins diet.
