The more love is shown by at least one of the parents to the child immediately after his birth, the more successful the child will be in adulthood. This was shown by new studies conducted by American scientists from the University of Iowa.

A new study of parental love

Embrace and closeness from a loving parent or parents in early childhood can make the child more confident in the future, the authors of the new study believe.

The study showed that infants who have formed close ties with at least one parent from the day of their birth, with a lower risk, will experience problems with communication in the kindergarten, school, and then in the adult team. They will have much less emotional and behavioral problems when these children reach school age, compared to children who have not experienced any special manifestations of love from their father and mother.

Providing special closeness with parents provides these benefits in the case when only one parent is involved in the upbringing of the child, researchers at the University of Iowa say. They proved that the results of their research are another evidence of the parents' enormous influence on the child at the earliest stages of the child's mental and emotional development.

The first two years are the most important

"There is a very important time when a mother or father should form a secure relationship with their child, and this happens during the first two years of life, a crucial period for the social and emotional development of the child," said Sancho Kim, Ph.D. In psychology. "At least one parent should emotionally have a positive impact on the child in the first 2 years of his life."

One parent is enough to raise a child

The results obtained are especially good news for single mothers and fathers who raise children without the participation of their mother. In her study, Kim studied the relationship of 86 infants with one of the parents for 8 years. A group of scientists was surprised by the results, discovering that infants who had close ties with both parents since their birth had not outstripped the emotional and intellectual development of those children who had close ties with one of their parents.

This means that the warm, loving and positive behavior of at least one parent is enough to meet the child's safety needs. A good attitude of one of the parents can provide the kid with a solid foundation for emotional and behavioral development in the future, say the researchers.
