Dried fruit for diarrhea

Drinks made from dried fruits and berries have a higher content of useful substances. They improve the protective properties of the immune system and the digestive process, and strengthen the cardiovascular system.
Let's look at popular dried fruits and the possibility of using them for diarrhea:
- Raisin
One of the most affordable, but useful products. Dried grapes do not have a pronounced astringent effect, but they help eliminate the cause of intestinal disorders. They have antibacterial properties, fight pathogenic microorganisms in the intestines and restore healthy microflora.

Raisins stop fermentation processes and the release of toxins, eliminating diarrhea and its accompanying symptoms. Raisins also retain water in the body, preventing dehydration, which develops with frequent watery stools.
- Dried apricots
Dried pitted apricot contains many useful substances. 100 g of the product is a source of vitamin A, or more precisely 12% of the body's daily requirement. It also contains organic acids, vitamins and minerals.
Dried apricots have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract. They can be used for both diarrhea and constipation. Everything depends on the dosage. A couple of dried apricots in combination with other components will speed up the body's recovery from gastrointestinal disorders.
- Fig
Fig fruits are rich in vitamins B, C and E. The fruit contains pectin, various enzymes and amino acids. When dried, figs multiply their beneficial properties, like many other dried fruits.
Figs improve bowel function, help remove pathogens and toxins from the body. Increases the level of hemoglobin in the blood, improves the cardiovascular system, and relieves inflammatory processes. Overeating this dried fruit causes a mild laxative effect.
- Prunes
Contains a large amount of pectin substances, protein, fiber, sugar and organic acids. Dried plums have a mild laxative effect, so they are not recommended for acute diarrhea. But they will be useful for cardiovascular diseases, to prevent inflammatory processes in the body and normalize blood pressure.
- Dates
It is a source of vitamins and nutrients. Date palm fruits contain minerals important for the body (calcium, sulfur, iron, copper, potassium) and other microelements. They contain amino acids and easily digestible fiber.
They also contain vitamin A, which is well accepted by the body and helps stop severe diarrhea. Soluble fibers restore normal functioning of the excretory system and improve bad stool. To combat diarrhea, it is recommended to eat a couple of dates during the day. In case of overeating, dried fruit can cause an exacerbation of the painful condition.
To eliminate intestinal disorders, you can use the following folk remedies based on dried fruits:
- Wash 150 g of raisins with warm water and pour 200 ml of boiling water over them. Grate 100 carrots on a fine grater and add to the raisins. Boil the drink over low heat for 15-20 minutes. The compote is taken in equal portions throughout the day.
- Take 50 g of dried pears and apples. Pour 500 ml of boiling water over them and let it brew for 40 minutes. Filter, add a spoonful of honey to the infusion and take ½ glass during the day.
- Wash a handful of dried apricots, dates and raisins, cut everything into small pieces and steam with 500 ml of boiling water. The decoction should be infused until it cools and filtered. To improve the taste of the drink, it is recommended to add a little honey or lemon juice.
When using dried fruits to treat diarrhea, remember that some berries or fruits can cause a strong allergic reaction. Therefore, it would not be a bad idea to consult a doctor.
Raisins for diarrhea
Many folk recipes for treating intestinal disorders include grapes, but raisins are no less useful. For diarrhea, they are used both raw and in various decoctions and medicinal mixtures.
Dried grapes have antioxidant properties and contain vitamin A. Dried fruit contains folic acid, vitamins B, C, K, minerals and other substances useful for the body.
- If you have frequent watery stools, it is enough to eat 5-7 raisins 3-4 times a day, washed down with warm water.
- You can also make a decoction based on dried fruit. To do this, take 100 g of raisins and 300 ml of water. Pour water over the dried fruit and cook over low heat for 10-15 minutes. Once the drink has cooled to room temperature, it can be consumed.
Both light and dark raisins can be used to treat diarrhea. Both varieties normalize the gastrointestinal tract due to the content of dry fibers, which swell when they enter the body, increasing the volume of fiber. Raisins are contraindicated for patients under 1 year old, with diabetes and excess body weight, tuberculosis, and peptic ulcer disease.
