We all heard a million horror stories about the dangers of antibiotics during pregnancy. Do they have any grounds? Are antibiotics in the first weeks of pregnancy really very dangerous for the development of a future child? In fact, these questions can be answered, and yes and no. Naturally, any use of drugs during pregnancy is not desirable, since it is not known how it affects the development of the child, but on the other hand, there are cases when the disease can do much more harm than taking certain medications. Below we will try to talk about those medicines that can be used during pregnancy, and those that are contraindicated. Antibiotics are drugs whose effect is produced on various microorganisms.

- viral diseases (FLU, ARI, ARVI);

To forbidden antibiotics in the first weeks of pregnancy can be attributed:
- furadonin - causes anomalies in development in the first trimester;
- metronidazole - its use can cause a violation in the development of the fetus in the first trimeter;
- Trichopol - is highly not recommended for use in the first trimester, as it can cause developmental abnormalities;
- gentamycin - is used only in case of a threat to the life of the mother, as with an incorrect dosage it can cause complete deafness in the child;
- tetracycline series - toxic to the liver of a child;
- ciprofloxacin - has the ability to in utero damage the joints of the baby;
- Levomycetin - disrupts the hematopoietic system by altering the bone marrow;
- Dioxydin - can lead to mutations in the fetus;
- biseptol - very toxic to the baby, causes a delay in growth and development;
- furagin - has a teratogenic effect.
Do not forget that the field of antibiotic use in the first weeks of pregnancy kills not only pathogenic (bad) flora, but also the necessary flora in the gastrointestinal tract and useful flora of the vagina.
