At the age of 5 months, the child's regimen changes significantly, as there are a number of innovations, new formations. The main diet remains breastfeeding. The child is also given complementary foods: vegetable and fruit juices, mashed potatoes are introduced for the first time.
The child can already hold his or her head well enough, rise up on his or her elbows, turn over from stomach to back, and even try to turn over from back to stomach. Fully rests on the palms of outstretched hands, lying on his stomach. Distinguishes between close and strangers, strict and affectionate tone. Takes a toy well from the hands of an adult. Begins to sit with the support of an adult. Standing well with the support of an adult (holding under the arms).
At this time, the child especially needs a massage of the area along the spine (paravertebral muscles of the back) and also needs a massage of the legs and lower back. This is due to the fact that the child is putting strain on these areas. For massage use children's massage oil, or body balm (eg, vivocost, chondroitin, cinquefoil). They are a means of preventing contractures, seals, inflammatory processes in muscles and joints.
At this time it is necessary to develop crawling in the child. It is a condition for further successful mastering of standing and walking. To do this, the child is placed on the bed, toys are laid out in front of him. The child will reach for them, crawl. When the child has well learned to crawl, give toys such as balls, balls. They will roll away, and the child will again reach for them. If the child is lying down and does not make attempts to crawl, they put their hands under their feet, and the child starts to reflexively push away.
Also at this time you need active-passive gymnastics, such as bicycling, working out the legs and arms in the joints. The author's method "Sphere", developed by Sergey Valentinovich Ovcharenko, a senior researcher at Panapharm, has proven itself. In the course of numerous studies it was successfully adapted for children of the first year of life. The essence consists in the sequential working of each of the main joints (spheres).
It is important at this time to maintain a positive emotional state in the child. It is necessary for the baby to hum as often as possible, pronounce different sounds, smile and laugh. This is important for the normal development of the child and the full development of speech. It is also necessary to take the child in your arms, raise and lower, throw up, talk, dance, walk, sing songs, pronounce sounds. It should be borne in mind that immediately the baby will not repeat sounds after the adult. This will be possible only as a result of long sessions, when the adult regularly communicates with the child. At first he looks for a long time and is silent, and only after a certain period of time, the child will open his mouth, move his lips, and only then - to pronounce sounds, syllables. The timely appearance of babbling is an important condition for the further development of the child's speech. Classes should be conducted daily.
If there is a dedicated early physical development coach for your child, they can be signed up for early workouts from that age (include squats, baby abs, tosses up, proper stance, elbow alignment, joints).
Daily schedule
At 5 months of age, the child should already have an individualized daily routine to which he or she is accustomed. Thus, in the morning, he wakes up calmly, plays, communicates with parents, stretches. After finally waking up, we proceed to the morning procedures of hygienic nature (diaper changing, cleaning ears, nose, eyes, wiping with wipes). A light massage is done, active-passive gymnastics. You can toss the baby, do various exercises with him, which will give pleasure to the child and the adult.
Then we smoothly move on to feeding. After that it is better to give the child time to lie down, to do his/her own things (turn on music, give toys, etc.). The child definitely needs a daytime nap, after which feeding and a walk are required. After a walk, the child should rest for a while. In the daily schedule should allocate time for physical exercise. A separate period of time should be allocated for mental activity (socializing, reading books, looking at pictures, etc.). At this time, feeding should be on demand. The daily regimen can include more distant walks, for example, going to the park, various entertainments, hikes, visits to guests. Such activities should be regular, but not daily. Approximately once a week.
Bait
At 5 months of age, complementary feeding is represented by a wide variety of fruit and vegetable juices. Fruit puree is introduced for the first time. It is better to give apple puree first. During the 5th month of life, the child should receive as many vegetable purees as possible (vegetables and fruits should be exclusively in fresh form). You can also give juices and purees of berries. Start giving with half a teaspoon, gradually increasing to 50-100 grams per day.
Ration menu
The basis of the diet is breast milk. The menu should be diversified with fruit and vegetable juices and purees. The child should already receive a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Already have to form their own taste preferences. During the 5th month of life, the child should receive banana, strawberry, raspberry, currant, tomato, cucumber puree, as well as puree from melon, watermelon, zucchini and eggplant caviar. You can give any other fruits and vegetables in the form of purees and juices. If prescribed by a doctor, the diet includes various nutritional supplements, fish oil, vitamins, children's nutritional cocktails.
Chair
Your baby's stools are starting to be a little different from what they were in the first 4 months of life, as there is a greater variety of foods in the diet. It is mostly dark yellow, slightly brownish in color, still has a sour smell and a liquid (mushy) consistency.
Sleep
The baby still needs to sleep most of the day - at least 16-18 hours. The bed should be soft, clean, comfortable. The room should be well ventilated. It is obligatory to have a full day's sleep. Night sleep is very important. It is better to put the child to bed at 22-23 hours. He should wake up himself, when he sleeps.
