Diet in the disease of the pancreas or other organs of the digestive system is an integral stage of effective treatment of an acute period and prevention of further exacerbations. Patients are prescribed diet number 5.
The pancreas secretes the gastric juice needed to digest food, and also contains special cells that secrete insulin, which is needed to absorb glucose.
In the acute period of the pancreas, in the first 3-5 days the mechanical intake of food is contraindicated. You can only drink warm mineral water, with a small percentage of alkali. The main food is done intravenously - the patient is drenched with special nutrient solutions. In addition, the application of cold compresses to the location of the gland is shown. Cold reduces the secretion of juice, and the inflammatory process is declining.
As soon as the painful syndrome decreases, you can start using half a glass of curdled milk every half hour, and another day you can get cottage cheese, and in another 2 days boiled shredded foods. Over time, the list of allowed foods expands, but fatty, spicy, salty, pickled and fried foods are prohibited. In chronic course of the disease, the diet should be kept constantly, there are stewed, baked, boiled dishes, sour-milk products, vegetables, fruits, cereals, but in small portions.
Menu diet for diseases of the pancreas
The diet menu for pancreatic diseases should be varied, but at the same time comply with all dietary norms. But it is worth remembering that in the acute course of the disease, the first 3-5 days shows complete rest, from food intake it is necessary to abstain. On the 4th-6th day, you can eat food prepared according to diet No. 5p (an erased version). An approximate version of the diet menu № 5:
- 1-st breakfast: Meat cutlets for a couple, oatmeal or buckwheat porridge, cooked on water and mashed, tea with milk.
- 2nd breakfast: Curd, fruit jelly.
- Lunch: soup from vegetables (except cabbage), mashed, meat soufflé and mashed potatoes, compote of fresh apples.
- Afternoon snack: broth of dogrose, crackers (not rye).
- Supper: a scrambled egg whites, semolina porridge, tea.
- Before going to sleep half a glass of mineral water.
The second variant of the diet menu No. 5, untreated, is prescribed in the second week of the disease, when the patient does not worry about discomfort and pain, and the temperature stabilizes.
- 1-st breakfast: vinaigrette, boiled meat is low-fat, porridge from buckwheat crumbly.
- 2 nd breakfast: dried fruits (dried apricots, prunes), loose tea and dry biscuits.
- Lunch: salad, vegetable soup, chicken boiled, potatoes boiled or baked in foil, apple.
- Afternoon snack: cottage cheese, compote of dried fruits.
- Dinner: fish boiled with boiled vermicelli, not strong tea.
- Before going to bed tea with milk, crackers (not rye).
Recipes for pancreatic diseases

Excluded products containing coarse fiber, restrict fat, carbohydrates. Food should be taken in divided doses, 5-6 times a day, in small portions.
- It is possible to prepare mucous soups from different groats on water or broth from vegetables. To make soup, you need a thin broth of vegetables, fish or meat, ground cereals, onions, carrots. Onions are boiled and added during cooking broth to carrots, then, as the broth is ready, add the croup. Once the soup is cooked, it is slightly cooled and rubbed through a sieve.
- Cutlets for a pair of low-fat poultry, you can soufflé of meat;
- Knives or soufflé from fish;
- Omelette steamed or soft-boiled eggs, but not more than 1-2 eggs per day;
- Milk in its pure form is contraindicated, only in certain dishes;
- Cottage cheese in fresh form or as a cream cheese pudding for a couple;
- Puree and puddings from vegetables;
- Non-acid baked apples;
- Compotes, jelly, jelly on xylitol and sorbitol, weak tea, "Borjomi", broth of wild rose.
Diet in case of exacerbation of pancreatic diseases
Diet in the exacerbation of pancreatic diseases is primarily aimed at reducing the mechanical and chemical stress on the pancreas. In the early days of the acute course of the disease, cold, hunger and rest are shown. That is, fasting, cold compresses on the pancreas and strict bed rest. You can only drink half a glass of warm mineral water without gas, a bit of a weak broth from the hips, a slightly brewed unsweetened tea.
For 3-4 days, after the relief of an acute attack, an easy, gentle diet is prescribed. It consists of mucous soups, mashed liquid cereals, vegetable purees, kissels. All dishes should be liquid or semi-liquid, cooked, wiped or steamed. By nature, the diet is similar to the menu for peptic ulcer, but with inflammation of the pancreas use a little milk and limit the number of eggs in the diets.
Later, after 1-2 weeks, after stabilizing the condition, diet No. 5 is recommended in the garbled form. As soon as the abdominal pain completely disappears, and the temperature normalizes, intestinal disorders disappear, you can go on an unprocessed diet.
In the future, there is no need to adhere to a strict sparing diet, but not to provoke new bouts of the disease, some products should be abandoned once and for all.
Diet for a week with pancreatic diseases
The diet for a week with pancreatic diseases is prescribed in order to normalize its function by reducing the secretion of pancreatic juice, which provokes inflammation. Of course, one disease can not be cured, a whole complex of medications is needed.
In the early days of the disease, a strict bed rest is prescribed, a cold compress on the pancreas area - this will help reduce secretion. Then for another week the patient is transferred only to intravenous nutrition, during this period you can only drink half a glass of warm mineral water without gas. After the pain is reduced, you can drink half a cup of ryazhenka every 40-60 minutes. After a week, you can switch to a mashed diet number 5 (n) but eat small meals and often.
When the condition is finally stabilized, after 1-2 weeks, it is possible to switch to the unprocessed diet No. 5. Dishes are represented by a wider assortment of products - curd, egg whites, kelly, meat and fish souffles, butter in ready meals. Dishes should be warm, served in small portions 6-8 times a day. The period of compliance with the diet is prescribed by a doctor, on average, lasts 12-14 days.
After recovery, it is necessary to adhere to a special menu and exclude from the diet fried, spicy, pickled and fatty foods, so as not to provoke an exacerbation.
