The electronic pregnancy test allows to establish the fact of its onset (or not offensive) simply, quickly and, most importantly, is practically unmistakable: manufacturers of such tests assure that the level of their accuracy is not less than 99%.
Electronic Pregnancy Tests First Response (Gold Digital Pregnancy Test), ept Digital Pregnancy Test and CVS Digital Pregnancy Test are produced in the USA; in the UK release Lloydspharmacy 2 Digital Pregnancy Tests, and in Switzerland - Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test.
All of them determine pregnancy by the same principle as conventional stripe tests, that is, based on the detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the urine. This hormone is a "marker" of pregnancy, because it begins to develop about a week after conception (the introduction of a fertilized egg into the womb) by the cells of the surface layer of the embryonic part of the placenta - the chorion.
Who to contact?
Electronic pregnancy test Clearblue
To date, our women are mainly offered a well-proven Clearblue pregnancy test, developed by British specialists, and manufactured by the Swiss company SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics GmbH since 2008.
Increasing the accuracy of the test results is ensured by their unmistakable decoding with a digital optical reader, which completely eliminates the human factor present in the use of traditional test strips.
The advantages of the electronic pregnancy test are that, in addition to the pregnancy test, this test has an indicator of the time of its onset (Weeks Estimator), which manufacturers have named the time counter from conception within one, two, three or more than three weeks.
The instruction on the application to the pregnancy test of this trademark asserts that - according to the results of the experimental check - the correctness of the determination of its term "clear-blue" digital determinant of gestation is almost inferior to ultrasound and is more than 90%.
How to use the electronic pregnancy test?
The manual contains clear step-by-step instructions on how to use the electronic pregnancy test for Clearblue Digital.
Basic rules for using the Clearblue test:
- Testing should be done in a certain period - from the prospective day of the beginning of the next month. Although it is possible to use it for 2-3-4 days before the expected menstrual period (but then the accuracy will be much lower).
- The testing is not limited to the time of day, but the maximum accuracy of the result is guaranteed when using the urine test for the first urination after waking up.
- Prior to the testing you have planned, the use of large amounts of liquid is not recommended.
- The test should be removed from the sealed package immediately before the procedure.
- The protective cap from the absorbent tip of the dough should be removed.
- In the process of urination, the urine stream should wet only the absorbent tip within 5 seconds. To avoid getting urine on other parts of the device, it is recommended to urinate in a dry clean container and put a tip into the urine for 20 seconds.
- A protective cap must be put on the used wet tip.
- The test should be kept tipped down, but it is best to put it strictly horizontally.
- The test time can be tracked by flashing the hourglass icon that appears on the indicator; The test should not be touched, turned over, shaken, etc.
- When the hourglass icon stops flashing (after about 3 minutes), the indicator will show the results: the "+" sign means that you are pregnant, the "-" icon is a negative indicator. The time elapsed from the moment of conception is indicated in weeks: 1-2, 2-3 or 3+. On the screen of the tester, the test results remain about a day.
Disadvantages of the electronic pregnancy test
Specialists distinguish such shortcomings of the electronic pregnancy test:
- if you use the test 3-4 days before the expected start of another menstruation, the result may be incorrect;
- not all women can get the correct result from the first time, since the hCG level is not high enough at the time of testing; a second test is required 2-3 times after the first;
- the test results will be incorrect if a woman is treated for infertility by injecting HCG drugs or by means stimulating ovulation.
Also, the results of testing with an electronic pregnancy test may be incorrect:
- if a woman shortly before the pregnancy test stopped using hormonal contraceptives;
- at irregular monthly;
- with a recent miscarriage, abortion or pregnancy.
The electronic pregnancy test will be erroneous if a woman has germinogenic or trophoblastic tumors (dysherminomas, ovarian teratomas, choriocarcinomas, bladder drifts, etc.) that produce chorionic gonadotropin.
