The 27th week of pregnancy is characterized by the baby weighing almost 900 grams and measuring 37 cm in length. It sleeps and wakes up at regular intervals, opening and closing its eyes, and may even put its fingers in its mouth. With the development of brain tissue, the baby's brain is very active, while the lungs are still not ready to function independently. If the baby were born now, it would need medical support.

Important: Each baby's development is unique. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of fetal development and symptoms if you are 27 weeks pregnant.

27 weeks of pregnancy and changes in the expectant mother

The second trimester is coming to an end, and you may notice some new symptoms. Along with lower back pain, week 27 of pregnancy may be accompanied by occasional cramps, especially at night. This is due to the extra weight that puts pressure on the veins in your legs. When a cramp occurs, try stretching your leg forward and relaxing the muscles, gently pulling your toes toward you.

Consider using birth control after your baby is born and discuss it with your doctor. Beyond Orange Juice "Need Vitamin C? Try red bell peppers! They have almost double the amount of Vitamin C as orange juice." - Kayla
