Physiological delivery

Physiological birth - this is the birth, in which the child is born in the proper time and in a natural way. That is, physiological births go through three stages (disclosure, expulsion and succession), and after the birth of the child, the placenta is separated and the birth of the afterbirth occurs.

To physiological birth was normal, the woman in labor should know what is happening at each stage, their average duration and, of course, what feelings, including painful ones, they accompany.

Management of the postpartum period

Over the past decades, the experience gained in obstetric practice has convincingly confirmed the rationality of active management of the normal postpartum period.

Physiologic postpartum period: changes in the maternity woman's body

The puerperal, or postpartum period, is the period that begins after the birth of the placenta and lasts 8 weeks. During this time, the reverse development (involution) of organs and systems that have undergone changes due to pregnancy and childbirth occurs.

Management of normal labor

Many obstetric hospitals offer partner births

Medical anesthesia for normal childbirth

When a woman in labor is admitted to the maternity ward and experiences feelings of fear, anxiety, uncertainty, mental stress or emotional arousal, tranquilizers are prescribed - trioxazine at a dose of 300-600 mg orally, or diazepam at a dose of 5-10 mg, or phenazepam 0.0005 g orally in combination with spasmolitin, which also has a sedative and antispasmodic effect.

Programmed childbirth

In recent years, interest in programmed labor has increased again. In some cases, artificial labor induction is performed at term without medical indications, when the fetus has reached full maturity and there are no signs of spontaneous labor. Such preventive labor induction during normal pregnancy is called programmed labor.

Early termination of pregnancy

In modern obstetrics, an important place is given to artificial induction of labor. It is believed that the proportion of induced labor should not exceed 10%.

Mechanism of labor

There are four moments of the birth mechanism. The first moment is flexion of the head; the second is internal rotation of the head; the third is extension of the head (the suboccipital fossa is the point of fixation - hypomochlion); the fourth is internal rotation of the torso and external rotation of the head.

Cardiotocography, auscultation of cardiac activity, amniotic fluid staining

During normal labor, with a physiological state of the fetus, there is a gradual increase in the frequency of the presence of meconium in the amniotic fluid, but no significant differences were found between the groups.

State of acid-base state of fetal blood during physiologic labor

Literature data indicate an undoubted relationship between the condition of the newborn and the acid-base balance of its blood, therefore, when determining the condition of the fetus during labor, the results of blood tests taken from the skin of its head are of decisive importance, while acidosis can be recognized at any stage of labor.

Amniotic fluid pH during physiologic labor

The pH of amniotic fluid was studied in 160 women in labor during normal labor. The duration of labor in primiparous women was 12 hours 42 minutes + 31.7 minutes, and in multiparous women 6 hours 05 minutes ± 4.85 minutes.
