With the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy, many women become very careful: they eat right, limit themselves in negative addictions, walk and rest a lot, and also do not forget about folk signs and superstitions. The expectant mother creates a space of harmony and love around herself, protecting herself from negative emotions and experiences. Of course, it is important for a woman in this position to be happy, healthy and enjoy every day of waiting for the baby. During this period, a woman should not only maintain a positive attitude, but also not forget to take care of herself. External beauty increases confidence in her attractiveness, supports the expectant mother psychologically and, undoubtedly, pleases her husband.
Pregnant women often ask themselves: "Can I cut my hair during pregnancy?" Our ancestors associated hair length with vitality and energy. Special days were set aside for haircuts, that is, it was a kind of ritual. According to popular superstitions, cutting hair during pregnancy contributes to shortening the life of the child. Each woman decides for herself. Some prefer to play it safe and not visit beauty salons until the baby is born. Others, holding certain positions, cannot afford to look careless or not comply with the dress code.
The opinion of hairdressers on whether it is possible to cut hair during pregnancy comes down to the need to prevent a postpartum "beauty crisis". The fact is that pregnant women's hair increases by an average of 60%. This is due to the growth of amino acids and nutrients in the hair, which increase the life cycle of the hair follicle and the hair itself. The postpartum period, on the contrary, is characterized by active hair loss. To make this process less noticeable and reduce the load on the hair, it is recommended to have a haircut during pregnancy.

Cutting hair during pregnancy
Pregnancy brings emotional, physical and external changes. Some women note that their hair has become thicker and silkier, while others are puzzled by its dryness and dullness. Owners of luxurious hair should remember that after the birth of the baby, the hormonal background will change again and with it active shedding will begin. Lush hair is a kind of burden and test for hair follicles. Therefore, thick hair during pregnancy requires careful care, including trimming split ends. Women with short hair are also advised to cut their hair during pregnancy to look beautiful and neat.
Of course, everyone decides for themselves. Let's remember what the ban on cutting hair during pregnancy is based on. Our ancestors had long braids, which were rightfully considered a sign of beauty and health. Hair was braided and hidden so as not to pick up negative energy. Long "hair" was considered a talisman and gave the owner (men also had long hair) a connection with the cosmos, strength, wisdom. Combed hair was carefully collected and burned in a fire or tied to a tree.
Is it possible to cut hair during pregnancy? Our ancestors had a clear answer to this question - under no circumstances. Cutting hair meant:
- shorten the life of the unborn child;
- the possibility of a stillborn baby;
- the draining of life force from the mother and her child;
- block the path for the arrival of the baby's soul (hair is the channel through which the new soul descends);
- premature birth;
- circumcision of a boy's penis, which results in the forced birth of a girl.
Modern representatives of the fair sex do not wear braids, but increasingly prefer stylish, short haircuts. Every expectant mother wants to remain attractive and desirable for her loved one, and some are obliged by their official position. And how can a neat appearance harm the future child? Seeing her reflection in the mirror with a well-groomed hairstyle, any woman in anticipation of her little miracle will smile and become happier.
To cut your hair during pregnancy or not to cut it is an individual choice of each woman. If you feel calmer, more confident about the health of the baby, then follow the folk omen and do not visit a beauty salon. If you cannot refuse yourself to look stunning, if your unkempt appearance makes you feel despondent, then it is better to get your hair done and avoid the impending depression.
Haircut and pregnancy
Haircut and pregnancy – how compatible are they? There is a claim that cutting hair after conception is akin to removing useful substances from the body. Some people believe in this superstition, while others do not take it seriously. You might as well not cut your nails and turn into a shaggy creature with long claws by the ninth month. Whatever the case, it is important for a woman expecting a baby not to be nervous or depressed. Every expectant mother knows best what brings her pleasure and a stable emotional state. Some women enjoy the opportunity to have late-night snacks, while others cheer themselves up in a beauty salon.
Interestingly, different nations have their own views on haircuts during pregnancy. When a Chinese woman learns that she is pregnant, she cuts all her hair as short as possible, which does not affect childbearing in any way.
There are no medical contraindications to haircuts during pregnancy. Modern expectant mothers, on the contrary, try to "do up" before giving birth, knowing that after the baby is born, there will be very little time left for themselves. But doctors do not recommend dyeing your hair, doing a perm, trying hair growth stimulation, etc. By the way, it is very difficult to achieve the expected hair color during pregnancy. Natural henna and basma can be an alternative to chemical hair dyes.
Is it possible to cut hair during pregnancy? To believe in folk signs or to stick to your own opinion - every future mother decides for herself.
