Considering that the ligaments and muscles of the child's legs are still weak, the shoes should support the ankle joint. The sole should be soft enough, with a small heel, and it is desirable that there is an instep support inside - to form the arch of the foot. The instep support should spring when walking, easing the load.
It is better, of course, to buy new shoes, since worn ones may be dented or worn out by their predecessor (although in the few months that a child wears shoes, he simply does not have time to wear them out).
But, considering the high cost of modern children's shoes, you can also look for them in second-hand stores. Sometimes you can find almost unworn children's shoes there for much less money, but of much higher quality. Try not to buy shoes made in a handicraft or semi-handicraft way, since their manufacturers pay more attention to the appearance of the product, rather than its physiological properties and functionality. And its quality leaves much to be desired.
Along with shoes, you need to pay attention to the toes. They should be the right shape, not pinched anywhere, the ribs should not be too thick, and the toes should move freely in them.
Also, keep an eye on your toenails. They need to be trimmed in time, giving them an oval shape so that there are no sharp edges left at the corners.
There are fewer requirements for baby clothes. The main thing is that it should not be tight, should be comfortable, and should be easy to put on and take off. This is especially true for sweaters with a small opening for the neck, through which the baby's head cannot fit without "ripping off" the ears. Underwear should be cotton, not synthetic, to absorb sweat.
Dress your child so that he or she doesn't freeze, but also doesn't overheat. If you've read this book carefully, you should remember that your child should have as many layers of clothing as you do, plus one more. (This, of course, doesn't mean that you should put two fur coats on your child in winter!)
Hats should have ties, but they should not squeeze the child's neck. They should also not "bite" - cause itching.
When putting on a scarf, remember that it is an additional seal for the collar, so that cold air does not penetrate into the bosom in windy weather, and not a collar by which you can lead the child!
