The weight of the child by months is of interest to any attentive and caring mother. The indicator of the dynamics of weight gain, as well as growth, are important parameters indicating the normal development of the baby.
First of all, parents need to remember the basics of mathematics in order to periodically calculate the optimal weight of their child.
Formula number 1, which is designed to calculate the weight of the baby at the age from 1 month to 6 months: 800 grams is multiplied by the age, expressed in months, then the weight is added to the product, which was fixed at the moment of birth. For example, weight = 800x3 (three months) + 3500 (weight of the child at birth). It turns out that a three-month-old child should weigh about 5900 grams. Of course, one should not panic if at this age the kid does not gain the right weight and weighs only 5,500 grams, perhaps it just grows more intensively during this period.
Formula number 2, which is designed to calculate the body weight of a child between the ages of 7 months to one year:
800 grams is multiplied by 6, then 400 grams is multiplied by the age (the number of months). These two products add up and add to them the weight of the child, recorded at birth. For example, weight = 800х6 + 400х7 + 3400. It turns out that a seven-month-old child should be within 10-11 kilograms.
These formulas are tentative, rather directive, than categorical as indicators of the normal development of the baby.
The weight of a child by months depends not only on the diet and feeding regimen, the dynamics of weight gain is influenced by many factors - the general condition of the body, possible diseases, digestive function disorders, individual characteristics associated with the hereditary factor. If the parents of the child do not differ in heroic composition and weigh very little, most likely, such a child will never "keep up" with the standard indicators. Despite the individual schedule of weight gain, each child should normally develop quite dynamically. Therefore, a slow set of weight should alert the attentive parents.
The main general parameters that can be used to calculate such an indicator as a child's weight by months, and the analysis of standard indicators and real figures of monthly weighing:
- By the age of five months the weight of the child must be doubled. For example, the baby was born with a weight of 3600, therefore, by the age of five months, it should weigh about 7200. It should be noted that children who were born with small weight scores gain more dynamically. And large children on the contrary, gaining weight a little slower. A child born with a body weight of 4,100 grams, at the age of five at all, is obligated to weigh 8,200 grams, for him, perhaps a more comfortable weight of 7,500 or 8,000 grams.
- The first three months the baby adds about 15-200 grams per week, from 800 to 900 grams per month.
- From the age of three months to six months, the weight increases by 100-110-120 grams per week, and the increase in mass is reduced by an average of 500 grams, that is, not 900, but 850, then 800, and so on.
- Further increase in body weight becomes even less, at the age of nine to twelve months the weight increases by 50-80 grams per week or 250-300 grams per month.
The weight of a child by months obeys one simple rule: the older the child becomes, the less he gains body weight. Given the typical problems for children - digestive disorders, dental growth and poor appetite during this period, it can be predicted that in these weeks the child may not gain weight at all. The main indicator is a calm child who cries only when he is hungry or dissatisfied with a crowded diaper.
