After completing the injection course, we invite the patient to re-visit after 2 weeks to assess the condition of the facial lines and the effects of the toxin. New photos are being taken, and the patient and the doctor again evaluate them on a scale. If the patient is still worried about hyperfunctional folds, you can inject the toxin repeatedly. The dose and location of additional toxin injections should be determined based on the severity and localization of hyperfunction. Doses and injection sites are noted on an outpatient card. If the muscles are relaxed adequately and an attractive contour of the face is reached, the patient is asked to come back again, when the folds on the face again become noticeable and unacceptable. Usually this happens in 4-6 months. In patients treated several times, the effect of Botox seems to be more prolonged, perhaps because of a change in their attitude to their appearance.
