In young age, cases of female baldness are rare, as increased production of estrogens ensures normal growth of curls. Age-related hair loss is associated with a woman entering the climacteric period, that is, with the onset of menopause. In addition to thinning hair, problems with nails begin, they become brittle, and skin elasticity deteriorates.
Causes of age-associated rape in women
The causes of age-related alopecia are most often associated with the action of the following factors:
- Hormonal changes in the body.
- Emotional experiences and stress.
- Unbalanced nutrition leads to disruption of tissue trophism and blood supply to the follicles.
- Drug therapy.
- Hereditary factors – alopecia on the maternal line.
- Cicatricial alopecia – occurs after injuries and tumors of the head, tuberculosis, syphilis and with trichotillomania, that is, an obsessive desire to pull out curls.

Hair loss in women after 30, 40, 50, 60 years
It has been scientifically proven that hair loss in women has age-related features. So, this problem is quite rare among young girls. Symptoms of alopecia occur due to improper care of curls, due to frequent experiments with coloring and curling, with an unbalanced diet during a diet. After eliminating the provoking factor, the condition of the hair is restored.
There are also more serious reasons for hair thinning that are common to women of any age:
- Chronic fatigue, stress, emotional overstrain.
- Treatment with antibiotics, antidepressants.
- Infectious lesions of the body.
- Long-term use of hormonal contraceptives.
- Dermatological diseases
Another important factor is hormonal instability, starting from puberty and up to menopause. Hormonal fluctuations affect the density of hair, the condition of the skin, nails and general well-being.
- Hair loss after 30 years
It may indicate a hereditary predisposition or the action of the above factors. Hair thinning occurs gradually, evenly over the entire head, which is hardly noticeable from the outside. Girls over 30 are at risk for thyroid disease and anemia (iron deficiency).
Dull and thin curls can be a sign of hypothyroidism. Pregnancy and childbirth should also be taken into account, since this age period is most favorable for motherhood.
- Baldness in women after 40 years
By this age, many ladies have a number of chronic diseases that affect the condition of the strands and dermis. During this period, genetic predisposition to alopecia makes itself known. According to medical statistics, the hereditary factor is detected in 40% of women.
The following are the main reasons for hair loss on the head in women after 40 years:
- Thyroid diseases.
- Exacerbation of chronic diseases.
- Drug therapy.
- Cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, osteochondrosis and other pathologies that disrupt the blood supply to the hair follicles.
Women's reproductive function begins to fade, estrogen production decreases, and the body prepares to enter the menopause phase. At the same time, the sex glands continue to produce androgens, the excess of which leads to baldness.
- Loss of hair after 50-60 years
The causes of alopecia in this age period are a continuation of the problems of forty-year-old ladies. Only new age-related diseases are added to the existing pathologies, worsening the general condition of the body and the appearance of the woman.
Most medications used to treat age-related diseases have a trichotoxic effect, that is, they damage hair follicles. Acute estrogen deficiency due to menopause also negatively affects the condition of the hair, skin and nails.
The problem of female baldness requires comprehensive medical attention, regardless of the patient's age. After determining the factors causing pathological symptoms, the doctor makes a treatment plan. Therapy is aimed at preserving and strengthening the hair, improving the general condition and increasing the immune system's defenses.
Hair loss in women during menopause
Menopause is stressful for the female body. Increased levels of the stress hormone adrenaline cause blood to flow to the heart muscle. Because of this, the follicles stop being supplied with blood normally and die. Suppression of estrogen production leads to increased dryness of the skin, which also affects the tissues of the head. Also, during the climacteric period, vitamins and other useful substances are actively washed out of the body, which significantly undermines the state of the immune system and contributes to the exacerbation of chronic diseases.
The menopause period entails significant changes in the hormonal background of the female body. Disturbances affect the cardiovascular, endocrine, nervous and genitourinary systems. All these processes are physiological, but cause great discomfort and anxiety in women.
Hair loss during menopause is primarily associated with an imbalance of sex hormones. Due to the fading of ovarian function, the amount of estrogens decreases. Against this background, the level of male sex hormones, testosterone, gradually increases. There are also other reasons that contribute to female baldness during menopause, let's consider them:
- Emotional experiences and stress.
- Pathological changes in the thyroid gland.
- Iron deficiency anemia.
- Taking medications.
- Exacerbation of chronic diseases.
- Bad habits.
- Improper hair care.
Pathogenesis
Menopause occurs with a decrease in the amount of estrogens and an increase in the level of dihydrotestosterone. Male hormones negatively affect hair follicles, weaken them, contribute to the thinning of strands, their increased fragility. Hormonal imbalance provokes the development of baldness.
Symptoms of age-associated rape in women

Treatment of age-associated rape in women
Age-related alopecia is a separate type of female baldness, so it requires special attention. Treatment of baldness in women is carried out by a gynecologist, endocrinologist and trichologist. The success of therapy and the speed of hair restoration depend on the correctly selected hormone replacement therapy and a healthy lifestyle.
Prevention
Age-related alopecia can be prevented. To do this, it is recommended to start replenishing hormones in a timely manner, increase the amount of vitamins, minerals and other useful substances entering the body. To improve well-being during the climacteric period, hormone replacement therapy is indicated, and a change in lifestyle is also recommended.
Particular attention should be paid to proper hair care. First of all, you should avoid using shampoos and other cosmetics from unknown manufacturers and with a rich chemical composition. It is recommended to give preference to professional hair care cosmetics with keratin and vitamin supplements.
For washing, it is better to use water with a minimum chlorine content and not too hot. Wet curls should not be combed, since in this state their structure is most vulnerable to mechanical injury. To improve blood circulation in the scalp, you should regularly massage the skin.
