Autism is a serious nervous disorder that affects 1 in 110 children only in the United States. Without knowing the causes of autism, parents can worry about the fact that mom can give birth to a baby-out. But a new study recently conducted in the United States can give new hope to parents - to conceive and give birth to a child without deviations. This could help change the situation with the birth of children with autism.
The essence of the study
According to a study recently published in the scientific journal on epidemiology in the US, it is quite simple to reduce the risk of a baby-to-child birth. It is only necessary for the mother to take vitamins within 3 months before the onset of pregnancy during the first month of pregnancy. This can significantly reduce the risk of autism in future children, especially in genetically predisposed to this disease.
Participants in this study were 288 children aged 24 to 60 months who had no signs of autism, as well as 144 children with autistic disorders, and 278 children with typical development. The researchers determined whether their mothers consumed vitamins and / or other supplements during the period spanning 3 months prior to conception and throughout pregnancy and lactation. Using this data, scientists used statistical analysis to calculate the incidence of a link between autism and the use of vitamin supplements by the mother.
Results of the study
According to the results, mothers of children with autism took vitamins during conception much less often than mothers of normally developing children. The conception period is determined 3 months before the onset of pregnancy and during the first month of pregnancy. Such a diet of mother during pregnancy and before it especially strongly influenced children with a genetic predisposition to autism, because the combination of genetic predisposition and consumption of vitamins by mother during conception was associated with a significantly higher risk of giving birth to children-outs than any other factor.
Interestingly, the connection between prenatal vitamin intake and a low risk of autism only extends to the period of conception. The birth of children with autism is not affected by the intake of vitamins by mom during the time from 2 to 9 months of pregnancy.
Explanations of scientists
Vitamins for pregnant women contain more iron, folic acid, B6 and B12 vitamins than conventional multivitamins, so researchers suggested that these nutrients may be needed to reduce the risk of autism. Iron, folic acid and other B vitamins are necessary for the nervous system of mother and child, therefore deviations in the form of autism (nervous disease) in a child occur precisely because of a lack of these vitamins.
Of course, additional research is needed to confirm this theory, but these new data help shed light on some complex factors associated with autism. Perhaps most importantly, the results of these studies also enable parents to plan pregnancy correctly by taking specific steps to protect against potential autism.
Choose vitamins carefully
Based on these research results, doctors recommend that women who plan pregnancy should take food supplements for pregnant women several months before conception. It is also important to know that not all vitamins for pregnant women give the same quality or that their doses may be the same.
To make sure that the mother's body takes important nutrients contained in vitamins, it is advisable to choose not effervescent tablets and capsules, but effervescent drinks with vitamins of high quality. Or natural vitamin drinks with rose hips, or fresh.
Numerous scientific studies have shown that effervescent vitamin supplements are faster and better absorbed than tablets, not to mention how much more pleasant it will be to drink a delicious fizzy drink, rather than swallow tablets. Such drinks contain a highly active group of trace elements, including all the nutrients indicated in the study, and all in highly absorbable forms.
To prevent the birth of children with physical disabilities, in particular, children-outs, it is possible with high probability. It is only necessary to correctly calculate the diet of the future mother.
