Products for teeth are not some special food, but everyday dishes and drinks. In order for teeth to be healthy and beautiful, you need to refuse some products, and others, on the contrary, you need to eat more and regularly.
Healthy foods for teeth
Useful products for teeth are those that contain calcium, fluoride, phosphorus, magnesium, fiber, vitamins, anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, whitening substances. Among them, there are leaders in individual positions.
- Seafood
Ideal food for teeth. Fish and various seafood components contain iodine, fluorine, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D, which protect teeth and gums from diseases, enamel – from plaque formation, destruction and caries. The record holder is shrimp: they are abundant in calcium and fluorine. It is recommended to consume the gifts of the deep sea systematically.
- Milk, yogurt, cottage cheese
Essential products for teeth. They are rich in phosphorus and calcium, which mutually enhance the beneficial effect on teeth and bones. Such components of dairy products as casein and enzymes perform a preventive and anti-inflammatory function. The recommendation to drink a glass of milk daily remains relevant.
- Quail and chicken eggs
They contain vitamin D, which regulates the level of phosphorus, and the shell is a valuable source of calcium. You can make the most of this wealth by taking a teaspoon of powdered shell daily. Your teeth will become stronger, and your gums will stop bleeding.
- Various nuts
They are very beneficial for teeth (of course, if you don’t click them with your teeth). Microelements, amino acids, and vitamins are off the charts in all nuts, but there are also some valuable ones. For example, cashews have a detrimental effect on harmful microflora that destroys enamel. Walnuts are rich in fiber, folic acid, magnesium, and vitamin B6. Almonds act on teeth as an antiseptic and analgesic. Cedar fruits nourish bone tissue and nerve fibers with vanadium and phosphorus.
- Hard vegetables
The best food for teeth. In first place is raw carrots, rich in beta-carotene, other vitamins and substances for strengthening enamel. Chewing cleans teeth from plaque and massages gums, stimulating blood circulation and salivation. Saliva washes away pathogenic bacteria. Radish, pumpkin, cabbage, beetroot have the same properties.
- Apples
They act similarly to vegetables, but contain other components. In particular, fruit enzymes destroy microbes that contribute to caries. And strawberries, pineapples, and oranges are excellent teeth whiteners.
- Honey
One of the few sweet products that are good for teeth. Enzymes have a detrimental effect on harmful microflora. And the beekeeping product propolis, due to its qualities, is even included in the recipe for toothpastes. Traditional medicine uses it to treat dental diseases, strengthen enamel, because propolis contains dozens of useful ingredients. The unsweetened drink washes and deodorizes the oral cavity, destroys microbes with the help of catechin substances. The same function is performed by ordinary water, which should be used to rinse the mouth after each meal.
Products for strengthening teeth
Most minerals needed for teeth and skeleton are found in regular everyday foods. Products for strengthening teeth must contain vitamin D3, calcium and related minerals.
- The best sources of calcium are dairy products. A liter of milk or 150-200 grams of Dutch cheese provide the daily dose.
Sardines, tuna, salmon are rich in vitamin D, without which Ca is not absorbed. The body needs 50 g of fish per day. The liver provides the same function. Capelin, flounder, squid supply phosphorus, which helps to absorb calcium.

The leaves of vegetable crops are sources of organic Ca, as well as K, Fe, Mg, Zn, and vitamins.
Buckwheat, peanuts, and pumpkin seeds provide zinc, which helps absorb calcium and vitamin D. Citrus fruits, thanks to their vitamin C content, ensure the formation of organic calcium.
Alternative medicine offers its own recipes and products for teeth: comfrey tea, carrot juice, wheat leaf juice.

In order for teeth and bones to perform their functions, the menu should contain enough products to strengthen bones and teeth. Otherwise, rickets develops in childhood, osteoporosis in adulthood, and in middle age, a lack of minerals has an adverse effect, first of all, on teeth: they deteriorate from caries.
There are various recommendations regarding the mineral requirement. The World Health Organization recommends introducing 1200 mg of Ca into the daily diet. This is a liter of milk or fermented milk product, 200 g of hard cheese, a little more than a 100-gram serving of sesame seeds.
A 200-gram orange contains 70, and 100 g of dried apricots - 170 mg of the microelement. It would seem that if Ca is present in such a popular food, then what is the problem and why do many people suffer from its deficiency?
It turns out that with calcium everything is not so simple. This capricious microelement is not fully absorbed when taken with food. This process is hindered by diseases (endocrine, kidney, stomach), bad habits (nicotine and alcohol).
There are products that are not "friendly" with calcium and remove it from the body (soda, coffee, heavy and sweet food). But in nature everything is balanced, and substances with the opposite effect are provided. They in combination promote the absorption of calcium: this is phosphorus and magnesium in an optimal ratio, supported by vitamins D and A.
Dental products with calcium:

Cheese supplies calcium to a growing organism, maintains the acid-meadow balance in the mouth, has a positive effect on enamel and a negative effect on microflora.
- Kefir is useful because Ca is absorbed from it better than from other dairy products. It also contains phosphorus, which is necessary for children's teeth.
Fish is a source of protein, which is important for a growing organism, and vitamin D, which helps to absorb calcium. Fish is especially necessary in winter, when there is a lack of sunlight.
Garlic and onions are rich in natural antimicrobial components that provide protection for the child’s oral cavity.
Fresh greens freshen breath, clean and strengthen teeth, create a healthy environment, distribute essential oils. Chewing celery massages gums, removes plaque, freshens breath.
Kiwi contains a daily dose of vitamin C, which is necessary for the growth and development of a small organism, in particular, the formation of collagen. A lack of collagen is fraught with the development of periodontosis.
Teeth need fluoride, and it is easy to get from the most common boiled potatoes and buckwheat porridge. Drinking water enriched with fluoride performs the same function.
Eggs are rich in proteins, fats, carbohydrates, contain 12 vitamins, most minerals. Powdered eggshells promote tooth growth, protect against bleeding.
Calcium Products for Teeth

The daily requirement for the mineral depends on age, physiological condition and other factors. The average norm is: for children under 8 years old – 800 mg, during the period of intensive growth – 1300 mg, for pregnant and lactating women – up to 2000 mg. The body of an adult is satisfied with a smaller dose of Ca.
The richest in calcium is hard cheese: 1000 mg in every 100 g.
Spinach and cabbage in all their variety of species and varieties are the richest in calcium among vegetable crops (100 and 200 mg, respectively).
Nuts and seeds are not just treats, but healthy foods for teeth. Almonds contain 260 mg Ca, Brazil nuts – 160 mg Ca. Sesame and poppy seeds, respectively, – almost 1000 and 1500 mg in a 100-gram serving.
Whole grain wheat flour and bran are also enriched with microelements, in particular, Ca: up to 900 mg.
- If for some reason you can't consume dairy products, there is an alternative: soy and soy products. Thus, 100 g of tofu cheese will enrich the body with 105 mg of calcium without overloading it with calories.
Not everyone knows that parsley is richer in calcium than milk. Dill, basil, mustard leaves also contain enough of the microelement.
Molasses used instead of sugar will bring more benefits than granulated sugar. Each tablespoon of molasses contains 170 Ca.

- Fruits
Juicy fruits and berries (apples, pears, oranges) mechanically clean teeth from plaque, stimulate the formation of saliva, which washes away the remains of soft food, dyes, stains. Strawberries gently remove excess, and also act as a cleaner due to the content of malic acid.
- Apple cider vinegar
It has many useful properties, including whitening, which is actively used in folk medicine. The effect is achieved by rinsing the mouth or throat with vinegar.
- Vegetables
Carrots act similarly to apples. Broccoli forms a protective film on the enamel, protecting it from destructive acids. Celery works ideally: by causing excess saliva when chewing, it ensures the natural whiteness of teeth.
- Dairy products
Cheese, yogurt, kefir contain lactic acid, which protects teeth from decay and effectively whitens the surface. Chewing hard cheese mechanically cleans and massages the gums.
- Sesame
Crunchy sesame seeds act as a gentle scraper to remove plaque and balance calcium.
- Shiitake

Harmful foods for teeth

Rusks injure the dental membrane and gums. Pork, lard, butter, white bread, baked goods, fast food and various soft products do not bring benefits to teeth. Without sufficient load, the gums lose strength, as a result of which teeth may fall out. Due to the destruction of enamel, there is a risk of microbes penetrating into the teeth.
Pepsi-Cola, lemonade, multi-colored sodas and energy drinks contain chemical ingredients that are harmful to enamel. Especially if you do not rinse your mouth after drinking. The same applies to soda and soda-based drinks.
Passion for soy sauce adversely affects the cleanliness and color of teeth. Personal oral hygiene will help preserve the natural beauty and shade.
- Juices from packages and red wine, when consumed repeatedly, cause darkening of the tooth surface. As a preventive measure, the mouth should be rinsed with clean water after drinking such drinks. Don't be fooled by white wine either: it is also harmful to teeth, no less than red wine. Therefore, the rule of rinsing the mouth also applies to this drink.
Sugar and salt, coffee and tea block the absorption of calcium. Cigarette resins and nicotine, among other harm, are very aggressive dyes.
Dark berries (blueberries, blackberries, currants), juicy colored vegetables (beets), juices, colored ice cream have the same coloring properties. Does this mean that everyone who cares about the snow-whiteness of their teeth should give up these healthy products? Of course not. You just need to always remember about prevention - rinse your mouth thoroughly after eating.
Teeth staining foods
The right dental products, together with proper oral care, provide them with a natural white color of different tones. Coloring products for teeth can turn whiteness into black, brown, yellow, red shades. A simple test will help determine whether a particular product will leave marks on your teeth: you need to drop food on a white cotton cloth. If the stain remains, then your teeth will be colored.
Dark pigments are present in black and fruit teas, coffee, cocoa, cola, chocolate, black berries, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce. Brown teeth are an inevitable fate of chronic smokers.
Ketchups and tomato juice, red wines, juices, and berries give teeth a reddish tint. In addition to staining, the acids in these products have an adverse effect on cleaned enamel.
Purple plaque on teeth appears after blueberries, currants, blackberries, dark wines. The abundance of acids in berries causes a sore throat and a sensitive reaction to high and low temperatures.
Yellow stains on teeth come from curry, mustard, and candies, carbonated drinks, and sweets with coloring.
How to maintain the natural color of teeth? Tips:
- give up bad habits;
- do not abuse harmful products;
- use a straw for coffee and tea;
- rinse your mouth frequently;
- brush your teeth after eating foods that contain pigments.
The right products for teeth will relieve many dental problems. In addition, for dental health, you need to drink not too cold or hot drinks, maintain personal hygiene, and visit the dentist not only when your tooth hurts and your face is swollen, but also for preventive purposes.
