Products for cleansing the lungs
The lungs of a person who has quit smoking are capable of self-healing. A proper diet and lung-cleansing products will be of great help in eliminating the adverse effects of tobacco smoking:
- pineapples;
- apples;
- garlic, ginger, horseradish;
- colored fruits and vegetables;
- green tea;
- broth from homemade chicken (with onions, garlic);
- clean water.
The lungs receive significant support in clearing mucus and toxic substances from
- water procedures;
- herbal inhalations;
- physical exercise;
- breathing exercises;
- deep inhalation of clean air.
Self-cleansing is a long process: in the best case, the respiratory organs will return to their former strength in a few months, and for long-term smokers it takes almost a year. A sign of recovery is the cessation of coughing and sputum secretion, which actually rids the lungs of sputum.

In diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis) phlegm, toxins, and remnants of inflamed tissues also accumulate in the respiratory organs. Traditional medicine offers quite effective recipes for their resorption and removal (oat milk, pine milk, pine jam, garlic-onion syrup, herbal teas). There are also methods for periodic cleansing of the lungs based on herbal decoctions, juices, dried fruits, pine teas, viburnum with honey, honey water, etc.
What foods are good for a smoker's lungs?
To determine which products are good for a smoker, you should understand their composition. After all, a diet enriched with the necessary substances is an important aid in improving the health of the lungs and the body as a whole.
- Garlic contains the active ingredient allicin (breaks down viscous mucus and removes it from the lungs). Other spicy roots have a similar effect.
- Apples are useful every day due to ascorbic acid and magnesium.
- Pineapples remove toxins, cleanse the lungs, and rejuvenate the body thanks to the presence of bromelain.
- Green tea is especially useful after dinner: it has anti-cancer properties and makes breathing easier for chronic smokers.
- Tea made from thyme, cardamom and fenugreek improves expectoration.
- Drinking more than two liters of water per day actively removes toxins.
- Brightly colored vegetables and fruits should be consumed without limitation, several servings per day. They will strengthen the immune system, provide vitamins and minerals.
- Tuna, salmon, cod, and sweet corn are all good sources of antioxidants that help fight cancer.
A simple and accessible way of cleansing is to use such products for the lungs as honey water (30%), tea from pine needles.
It is worth excluding from the diet or at least limiting foods that are harmful to the lungs: sugar, salt, hot spices, fish and meat broths.
Nutritionists consider fractional meals desirable for smokers' lungs and the use of fresh, natural products mandatory. A consultation with a pulmonologist would also be useful.

The lungs serve a person around the clock, but they themselves are often unprotected. It is quite possible to provide tangible support to the respiratory system with the help of the most useful products for the lungs:
