Let's consider which products improve memory and what exactly needs to be regularly consumed in order to promote a higher level of intellectual activity, improve attention and develop memory.
No matter how trivial the well-known phrase that following a proper diet and maintaining a balanced healthy diet is the key to the normal functioning of the entire body, this statement is still entirely fair. After all, a lack of certain nutrients can lead to very unfavorable consequences. Thus, the sharpness of the mind can be dulled, the ability to concentrate can be impaired, and memory can deteriorate. Eating heavy food in large quantities is fraught with the onset of a state of lethargy and apathy, on the other hand, hunger pangs in the stomach can appear from malnutrition.
It is very important to eat regularly during the day. In particular, you should not neglect breakfast, since, based on the results of studies, it can be argued that as a result of morning meals, attention improves for some time and memory processes are activated.
It is believed that caffeine can act as a catalyst for the activity of mental functions, increase reaction and mobilize other mental processes, such as concentration. Here, however, it is necessary to note that the effect of a cup of coffee, although it helps to cheer up, gather yourself and gives a surge of strength, but such an effect does not last long. And in the case of an excess of caffeine, discomfort may appear and a nervous state may arise.
Sugar, or more precisely, the glucose it contains, due to its ability to be easily absorbed by the body, becomes a source of energy that stimulates the brain. As a result, concentration increases and thinking functions are activated. But you should not abuse sugar, as this can have a detrimental effect on both memory and the state of the entire body.
Fish is a very useful product for thought processes. Fish dishes contain a lot of protein, which brings the brain into a state of active functioning. Due to the fact that fish contains omega-3 fatty acids, it is an excellent preventive measure against the development of dementia and the occurrence of strokes. They are also of great importance for enhancing memory, which becomes especially relevant with age.
What foods improve memory?
So, our consideration of what products exist that improve memory will begin with broccoli and spinach. Vitamin K contained in them helps improve human intellectual abilities and enhances memory.
Furthermore, walnut oil and fatty fish contain a number of acids necessary for the normal functioning of the nervous system. The presence of a large amount of iodine in fish helps maintain clarity of mind and good memory in old age.
Honey. It is impossible not to agree with the statement that honey is the real liquid gold for the mind. In addition to the fact that it has an excellent calming effect on the nervous system and has anti-inflammatory properties, it is also a wonderful means of enhancing memory.
Due to the presence of vitamin E in nuts, they are able to reduce the intensity of processes that lead to memory loss. Sunflower seeds, vegetables, especially green ones, eggs, and whole grains such as cereals, wheat bran, and wheat sprouts also have a similar effect.
The brain-boosting benefits of eating tomatoes are that they are rich in lycopene, which has strong antioxidant properties and helps cleanse the body of radicals that cause a tendency to develop dementia.
Rosemary is characterized by the fact that due to the presence of carnosic acid in this aromatic herb, it stimulates the expansion of cerebral tissue, which contributes to better memorization of information.
A handful of pumpkin seeds is the equivalent of the daily requirement of zinc for the human body, which is necessary to improve memory and thinking processes. In addition, pumpkin seeds are an excellent means of reducing fatigue.
Blueberries have good stimulating properties for mental activity. They can also help with temporary memory loss.
Blackcurrant is a real natural source of vitamin C, which helps maintain clarity and mental alertness.
Sage is also included in the memory-improving products. It is recommended to use it to stimulate and improve the processes of fixing new information in memory.
Vitamins that improve memory
Speaking about what vitamins exist that improve memory, first of all, it is necessary to note that the primary role in ensuring the optimization of normal brain activity processes is assigned to B vitamins.
Vitamin B1, also known by its other name – thiamine, takes an active part in the development of cognitive processes, as well as the ability to remember a large amount of information. A lack of vitamin B1 leads to the fact that uric acid accumulates in the body in excessive quantities, and as a result, the functioning of the brain deteriorates. This vitamin is present in peas, buckwheat, meat, fish and eggs. Due to the fact that thiamine disintegrates under the influence of high temperatures during cooking, it is recommended to eat fruits and vegetables containing it raw.
Vitamin B3, also called nicotinic acid, helps improve memory and brain activity, and is involved in energy production in nerve cells. Nicotinic acid is found in large quantities in legumes, buckwheat, yeast, egg yolks, green vegetables, meat, and fish. This vitamin can even be preserved in milk that has been boiled.
Vitamin B5 – calcium pantothenate acts as a stimulator of long-term memory processes. It also participates in the transmission of impulses between neurons. Vitamin B5 enters the body with peas, buckwheat, caviar, cabbage, hazelnuts, eggs. After thermal processing, its effectiveness is reduced by almost half.
Vitamin B9 known as folic acid plays its role in the speed of thought processes and ensuring high-quality memorization of information. B9 is produced by the body itself. Apricots, bananas, legumes, mushrooms, cabbage, red meat, cereals, carrots, cheeses, pumpkin, dates are rich in folic acid.
Listing vitamins that improve memory, we note that another component that helps both strengthen memory and improve attention is ascorbic acid, otherwise known as vitamin C. It has antioxidant properties that prevent mental and physical overstrain of the body. Apricots, kiwi, cabbage, potatoes with skin, sea buckthorn, tomatoes, strawberries, apples, black currants, bell peppers, spinach, and mint are rich in ascorbic acid.
Vitamin D or calciferol promotes the systematic processing of memories of recent events and learned information. Vitamin suppliers are egg yolk, parsley, butter, tuna.
Tocopherol acetate - vitamin E is responsible for the ability to perceive and remember information, it also helps remove toxins, strengthen blood vessels and maintain normal brain function. There is a lot of this vitamin in legumes, dairy products, oatmeal, liver, seeds, eggs.
What fruits improve memory?
Fruits, as is known, are characterized mainly by the content of a large number of vitamins that are necessary for the human body. Due to this, their regular consumption is a positive factor for improving mental activity, memory processes and attention. So, what fruits improve memory?
Vitamin C, present in large quantities in oranges, makes this fruit a wonderful means of filling the body with vital energy, normalizing blood pressure and optimizing blood supply to the brain. Orange also produces a beneficial effect on the functioning of the entire nervous system and, in particular, the brain. This in turn leads to increased mental activity, increased concentration and better memorization of information.
The exotic fruit avocado is rich in vitamins. It contains vitamins A, B, C, D, and in terms of vitamin E, this fruit significantly surpasses all other fruits. Its benefit is that it reduces the likelihood of cardiovascular diseases, and also helps improve memory due to its overall positive effect on the nervous system and brain.
Pineapple has been known since time immemorial as an exquisite dessert with a wonderful taste and a refined specific aroma, but its medicinal properties were discovered relatively recently. Pineapple, when included in the diet on a regular basis, has an effect consisting in reducing blood viscosity, which is a preventive measure against thrombosis and thrombophlebitis. This tropical fruit helps to remove atherosclerotic plaques from the walls of blood vessels. Due to this, the risk of heart attacks and strokes is significantly reduced. Thanks to pineapple, the functioning of the entire cardiovascular system is normalized and, accordingly, the blood supply to the brain improves, which in turn is a favorable factor affecting memory mechanisms and attention processes.
Dates are rich in dopamine, which is a stimulant for activating thinking processes, memory and attention.
