Kissel has always been present in the food traditions of the Slavs. This drink crowned the feasts of various holidays and funerals; after it was served on the table, those present understood that it was time to leave. And in everyday life, it was very popular. In modern realities, its role has been significantly reduced and does not carry any semantic load. It has been supplanted by juices, sprites, Pepsi-Cola, various cocktails - everything that is forbidden for gastritis. So is it worth introducing kissel into the diet for diseases of the digestive tract?

Is it possible to drink jelly if you have gastritis?

Having analyzed the properties of the drink, we can say with confidence that jelly is not only possible for gastritis, but also necessary. Since the disease is diverse in its etiology and pathogenesis, we will consider its individual types:

  • Kissel for gastritis with high acidity - characterized by excessive secretion of gastric juice, including hydrochloric acid, which is aggressive towards the inner wall of the stomach, leading to inflammation and other damage. Mucous liquid, drunk on an empty stomach, will protect the organ, improve regenerative processes, relieve spasms, strengthen the immune system, normalize metabolism, stool, reduce gastric activity;
  • Kissel for gastritis with low acidity - the pathology is characterized by a decrease in the functions of the secretory glands, which means a favorable environment for the reproduction of pathogenic organisms and the occurrence of foci of inflammation appears. Food should be gentle, not containing coarse, hard-to-digest foods. Berry kissels are the best for this, they will increase acidity, they are especially recommended to drink at night;
  • jelly for erosive gastritis - the disease occurs when the stomach's own digestive juices corrode the surface of the stomach, especially if its smooth muscles are weakened. In this case, jelly can be present in the patient's daily menu, if sour varieties of berries and fruits are not used as its base, but oatmeal and milk options are preferred;
  • Kissel during exacerbation of gastritis - the clinical picture of the pathology is very sad: pain in the epigastric region, nausea, often vomiting, dry mouth, belching, constipation or diarrhea, loss of appetite, general weakness. Drug therapy and a strict diet can bring the body to a normal state. And here, kissel will bring its positive effect on the mucous membrane of the organ, if it is prepared correctly.

What kind of jelly do you drink during an exacerbation? It is best to make it from dried fruits and oats. Drink it warm, but not hot or cold. Acute conditions require fractional, frequent and gentle nutrition, so a glass of the drink can be used for snacks or a smaller amount during meals.

Benefits

Kissel is the name given to a drink to which starch has been added for thickening, no matter which, potato or corn. Due to its gelatinous structure, the gastric mucosa is coated, as a result of which it is protected from mechanical damage, the aggressive effects of hydrochloric acid are neutralized, tissue healing is stimulated, pain is reduced, and the absorption of nutrients is improved.

The basis of jelly is cereals, fruits or berries, so it contains potassium, necessary for the acid-base balance of the body, many vitamins of group B, including B2, involved in metabolic processes, B5, restoring mucous membranes. Niacin, methionine, lecithin affect the concentration of cholesterol, choline - maintains normal insulin levels, lysine - restores tissues.

Why is jelly harmful?

Kissel contains a lot of carbohydrates, so people with excess weight or a tendency to allergies should not get carried away with it. Sweet kissels are completely harmful for diabetics, but oatmeal is acceptable in moderate quantities.

How to make jelly for gastritis, recipes

Kissels are quick and easy to prepare, and can be made by anyone who is not an expert in culinary subtleties:

  • oatmeal jelly for gastritis - will not amaze with taste colors, but will help even with severe manifestations. To prepare it, you will need 2 ingredients: water and oatmeal, which are soaked overnight or at another time of day for 8-10 hours. The drained liquid is brought to a boil over the fire, starch mixed in a small amount of water is gradually added to it. The liquid state of the jelly is obtained thanks to 2 tablespoons of starch per liter of liquid, and for a thicker consistency, its amount is doubled. Instead of sugar, it is useful to use honey for sweetening;
  • milk jelly for gastritis - can be drunk with any type of disease and even with low acidity, although milk is not recommended for hypoacid gastritis. It is prepared like any other: milk is boiled and diluted starch is added. This drink is good because it enriches with calcium and other vitamins and minerals characteristic of dairy products;
  • Rosehip jelly for gastritis - rich in useful substances (vitamin C, essential oils, pectins, trace elements, carotene, tannins, etc.) rosehip will strengthen the immune system, which is very important for inflammation of the gastric mucosa, since they lose the ability to absorb the necessary components for the healthy functioning of organs. First, a decoction of rose hips is prepared, then it is filtered and jelly is cooked on the basis of the decoction;
  • apple jelly for gastritis - sweet apples make a neutral in taste and color pleasant jelly, suitable for any gastritis. The value of the fruit is in the high content of iron, manganese, potassium. They contain various vitamins, pectins, they are hypoallergenic. First, the fruits are cut into cubes in a saucepan, filled with water and boiled for several minutes until soft, then starch is poured in;
  • flaxseed jelly for gastritis - flaxseed has a whole range of medicinal properties regarding the digestive organs. Its greatest advantage is the presence of fatty acids, including omega-3, natural hormones lignans, selenium, fiber. It is prepared without the use of starch, so it is suitable for almost everyone, with the exception of those suffering from hypercalcemia.

First, grind the seeds in a coffee grinder until they are floury, pour 2 teaspoons of them into a glass of water and boil for 10 minutes while stirring continuously. After cooling and straining, take 2 tablespoons half an hour before meals three times a day;

  • grape jelly for gastritis is very useful for humans, especially its burgundy varieties are known for their antibacterial properties. Jelly from it will not harm even in cases of gastritis exacerbation;
  • hawthorn jelly for gastritis - the plant deservedly has a reputation as a storehouse of useful substances necessary for humans: flavonoids with their antioxidant effect, valuable organic acids (ursolic, oleanolic, chlorogenic, coffee), which have a wound-healing, anti-inflammatory, antitumor effect, many vitamins, minerals. Jelly from a decoction of fruits will be useful for any pathologies of the stomach and intestines;
  • cranberry jelly for gastritis - cranberry is a sour berry and is more suitable for patients with gastritis with reduced secretion of hydrochloric acid. In terms of the content of useful substances, it will leave many other berries and fruits behind. It protects cells from free radicals, removes toxins and waste from the body, destroys microbes that harm the walls of the stomach. In essence, it is a natural antibiotic;
  • lemon jelly for gastritis - a rather unusual type of jelly for many, but it is quite acceptable for increasing acidity in its hypoacid form, because it contains a lot of vitamin C, essential oils, pectin, thiamine, rutin, organic acids. The fruit is peeled, chopped, boiled in water with sugar added to taste, starch is poured in and brought to readiness;
  • blackcurrant jelly for gastritis - the benefits of these berries are beyond doubt, which is why it is so common in our gardens, we always prepare it for the winter. Currant jelly is very tasty, but with increased secretion of gastric juice it can cause harm during an exacerbation, so it is more suitable for reduced function of the secretory glands;
  • Store-bought jelly for gastritis is exactly the product that gets a categorical "no" for gastritis. The reason for this is various harmful additives and maybe even chemical dyes, modern manufacturers do not always tell us the truth on the packaging. Agree that it is not at all difficult to prepare the drink yourself, so you should not aggravate the disease with something unnatural, and often dangerous for the digestive organs.
