Since childhood, we have been told: eat soup, otherwise you will get gastritis. This myth has long been debunked, but now many are concerned about another question: what if the disease already exists? Is it allowed to eat soups with gastritis, will they help to cure faster? And which first courses are healthier for the stomach?
What soups can you eat if you have gastritis?
When talking about soup, they always mean a liquid dish in which about half of the composition is water or broth. Previously, such a dish was called hlebka, yushka. It is believed that it came to our country thanks to Peter I: he "delivered" it from France, along with other recipes of French cuisine.
The benefits of soups for gastritis have been known for a long time. Even several centuries ago, our ancestors began to prepare broth at the first signs of illness in the family: it helped to recover faster, gave strength and energy to fight the disease.
However, according to the latest data, not all soups are recommended for gastritis and not always. For example, with low acidity, the use of first courses prepared on a gentle basis is only welcomed. But with excessive acid production, soup can cause increased acid formation, so they are prepared using less liquid, on water or vegetable broth, bringing to a mucous or pureed consistency.
Light diet soups for gastritis
Digestive system diseases require simplicity and ideal compatibility of products in the diet. Light soup is the best way to satisfy hunger without burdening the stomach or interfering with its work.
Most housewives prepare various first courses almost every day: the lightest options - without "frying", strong rich broths - are offered to the family most often after hearty feasts, holidays, and also in the summer, when you simply do not want to overload the body with food. It is precisely these soups that are discussed when it comes to gastritis.
What makes the dish so easy? Not only in its preparation, although that is also true. The main difference is the use of the simplest and healthiest ingredients: vegetables, greens, cereals. There is no need to “weigh down” the product with a large amount of fat, meat, cream, pepper and other hot spices, etc. Most soups do not even require broth, since vegetables and cereals will give the dish plenty of flavor and aroma. A sick stomach will only be “grateful” to such food.

Strained soups for gastritis
Strained soup is a predominantly dietary version of the dish, which is especially recommended by doctors during the treatment of gastritis or other gastrointestinal diseases. The delicate consistency is liked by almost everyone and always - both children and adults. Strained soups are usually divided into several categories - in particular, the most famous are cream soup, slimy soup and puree soup.
To prepare such a first course, you can use a variety of products approved by the doctor. The pureed version can be prepared in water or broth, with the addition of vegetables, cereals, meat or fish fillet.
So, the most common soups in this category are:
- multi-vegetable;
- pumpkin, squash;
- cabbage;
- rice;
- fish;
- chicken, etc.
A huge variety of recipes allows each patient to choose the most optimal option for themselves.
Indications
It is recommended to start eating soup for gastritis no earlier than the third day from the moment of exacerbation of the disease. Until this moment, it is better to let the stomach rest, drinking only drinks - warm water, warm unsweetened and weak tea, rosehip infusion. It is recommended to drink about 1.5 liters of such drinks per day.
If everything is fine and the stomach has rested a little, then from the third day the first courses of a mashed and viscous consistency are included in the diet. It is optimal to start with rice or oat soups, with the addition of a drop of butter. All soup ingredients are rubbed through a sieve or ground with a blender.
Soups are recommended by specialists as dietary and baby food. They are especially used not only for acute or chronic gastritis, but also for gastroduodenitis, ulcerative-erosive lesions, impaired motility of the digestive tract, hepatitis and cholecystitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Soups for gastritis with high acidity
With increased acidity, soups are consumed especially carefully. First of all, rich broths are avoided. The dietary dish is prepared without boiling bones or pieces of meat with fatty inclusions. In addition, no spices should be added to the pan.
Nutritionists give all patients the following recommendations:
- all ingredients of the first course should be chopped as much as possible;
- After preparing the soup, it is best to use a blender;
- vegetables must be boiled until fully cooked;
- to create additional thickness, you can add a little unroasted flour or whipped egg white to the soup;
- mushrooms and mushroom broths are prohibited;
- It is good if the dish contains ingredients such as pumpkin, zucchini, broccoli or cauliflower, rice, oatmeal.
All soups prepared for a patient with gastritis should be minimally fatty and warm (not hot and not cold, approximately 45-50°C).
It is better not to add bean (pea) soups to the diet if you have high acidity – they are only allowed during the remission stage of the disease.

Soups for erosive gastritis
Erosive gastritis is a rather complex and dangerous disease, in which small erosions or defects of the mucous tissue form on the walls of the stomach. To alleviate the patient's condition and prevent complications from developing, it is necessary to follow a diet that will not only protect the damaged tissue, but also provide conditions for its healing.
It is with erosive gastritis that the enveloping properties of mucous soups are especially relevant. Rice cereal has proven itself well: it should be well boiled, you can add milk, grated apple or pumpkin.
Oatmeal is no less useful and has a similar effect.
All cereals and vegetables in soups prepared for a patient with an erosive form of the disease should be well boiled. You can use semolina or oatmeal, rice or buckwheat, thin vermicelli, as well as carrots, potatoes, pumpkin, squash, cauliflower, etc. Such products create the most favorable conditions for the restoration of the mucous membrane, so they should form the basis of the diet.

Reviews
Any pathology of the digestive tract must be treated, first of all, with a diet. For gastritis, soups are the best food option if they do not contain strong broths, fried foods, hot spices and smoked foods. Gentle and fractional nutrition will allow you to restore the stomach in the shortest time. However, you should not forget about drug treatment either.
All meals should be divided into several approaches, so as not to burden the diseased digestive organ. There is no reason to be upset: such changes in nutrition will not haunt you for the rest of your life. Gastritis is very treatable. But you will still have to forget about some harmful things, for example:
- about fast food, semi-finished products;
- about products fried "to a crust";
- about “synthetic” products – chips, snacks, sweet soda, etc.
If you follow a well-designed diet, then soups for gastritis will help the stomach quickly restore its function, and the healing process will be faster. You can easily see that patient reviews of such nutrition are only positive.
