The phrase "fat diet" at first glance is meaningless, because everyone knows that it is more logical to lose weight by limiting yourself in food, including fatty foods. The thought immediately creeps in that this is some kind of catch, and then a small hope appears, is it really possible to lose weight deliciously and without suffering? Having believed in such a possibility, let's try to figure out if this is true.
Indications
According to the authors of the fat diet, it is a special nutrition system that can be used for weight loss, treatment of cardiovascular and kidney diseases, and even diabetes. The problem of excess weight is very acute in the modern world, where fast food and semi-finished products prevail. Blood vessels and other organs suffer from this, and the condition of diabetics directly depends on nutrition. In their case, diet is the main means of disease control. Based on these arguments, the benefits of the diet are obvious.
General information fat diet
The fat diet is based on the need to eat easily digestible and energy-rich food. This includes animal proteins and fats. Products consisting of fiber and carbohydrates are considered useless and harmful. Some contain a lot of water, others are poorly digested, so there is no point in eating them, but they should be excluded from the diet. Research shows that weight is directly dependent on blood sugar levels. Fast carbohydrates increase it, give a short-term burst of energy, but require constant replenishment and are deposited in the form of a fat layer. You can’t eat a lot of fats and proteins and they are completely spent on the needs of life processes. There are a number of versions of this theory, so let's consider the essence of each diet:
- Jan Kwasniewski's fat diet - according to the Polish nutritionist, meat, lard, eggs (6-8 pieces daily), milk, cream, and high-fat cheeses should predominate in a person's diet. Other products are strictly limited. Instead of vegetables and fruits, it is better to drink plain water; cereals and bakery products are generally excluded from the menu. Pasta and potatoes are occasionally allowed in small quantities. Kwasniewski believes that there is no need to follow a strict meal regimen, and eat when you feel hungry. But the main trick is to do it slowly, measuredly, in a positive and calm environment. You cannot combine watching TV, reading, using a computer, or talking with food, otherwise the brain's reception of a signal about satiety is disrupted, which entails overeating and gaining excess weight. Rest after eating for at least a quarter of an hour is also required;
- Sam Klebanov's fat diet is a Swedish low carb high fat diet, which was used and adopted by a famous film producer, allowed him to lose 15 kg without torture and food exhaustion. Its essence is that natural fats can be eaten without restrictions, and carbohydrates can be completely abandoned. What can you eat according to this diet? In first place are meat, fish, seafood, eggs, various vegetables except potatoes, greens, nuts, high-fat dairy products and even coffee, dry wines, dark chocolate, black tea, cognac and whiskey. What can't you eat? Sugar, fruits, cereals, flour products, carbonated drinks, alcohol containing sugar are prohibited. In addition, you need to drink plenty of water, consume coconut oil, and take salted chicken broths daily. This system involves not only nutritional rules, but also lifestyle: active sports, physical activity;
- Andreas's fat diet - the author of the book "Food Revolution" - the Swede Andreas Enfeldt made a gastronomic and dietary revolution in the minds of people, proclaiming: "Less carbohydrates, more fat" or the principle designated by the abbreviation LCHF. The Swedish fat diet provides the necessary nutritional balance, guaranteeing getting rid of excess weight, its stabilization, stabilization of sugar and cholesterol. The main principle of nutrition according to the Enfeld fat diet is to maintain the following ratio of fats, proteins and carbohydrates: 70%, 20% and 10%. The best controller when following a diet is not scales, but a centimeter, because weight can be maintained due to an increase in muscle mass. You will not be able to lose weight sharply - 1-2 kg per week, but adhering to such a nutrition system, you can achieve good results for a long time;
- Kovalkov's protein-fat diet - a Russian nutritionist developed it for himself and thanks to it he lost more than 50 kg. He promotes a healthy lifestyle and diet, and to do this he suggests first determining the reason for the excess weight, what goal a person is striving for, realizing the need for such a path and confidently following it. His diet involves a fairly balanced diet, it is not tied to specific dishes and products, there is no need to have fasting days and count calories. You can eat and drink everything except alcohol, white rice, bread, buns, confectionery, carbonated sweet drinks, potatoes, canned goods, smoked meats, semi-finished products. The diet must include vegetables, fruits, berries, milk and fermented milk products, at least 3 liters of water and even a little dry wine. The weight loss technique includes 4 stages:
- the first is preparatory, lasts 2-4 weeks, teaches you to control your diet and refuse unhealthy food. It is recommended to eat more raw vegetables, legumes, fruits and drink a lot of water;
- the second is a two-week initial stage, helps to cleanse the digestive organs and activate metabolism. The emphasis is on eating raw root vegetables, fruits, yogurts, and kefir. During this period, it is necessary to include sports activities;
- the third is the main one, can last up to 7 months, teaches a constant healthy lifestyle. Breakfast can consist of yogurt and dried fruits, snacks - vegetables and fruits, for lunch - boiled meat with salad, dinner with baked vegetables, drizzled with olive oil;
- the fourth is a fixing diet, it allows a small amount of pork, a little chocolate. The main thing is not to combine carbohydrates with fats, eat 5 times a day, and give preference to proteins for dinner.
To sum up, we can state that the above are not quite the usual approaches to organizing nutrition, proclaiming the principle of losing weight deliciously: a low-carbohydrate or carbohydrate-free fat diet. With it comes a quick feeling of satiety, allowing you to reduce portions and at the same time feel a lot of strength and energy.
Fat Diet Menu for a Week
Most diet menus are depressing long before they even begin, but not this one. The weekly fat diet menu simply pushes people into its arms and reminds them of the need to consult a doctor before using it. There are no strict restrictions, meal times, or weighing portions. A day of eating may look like this:
- breakfast - bacon, fried eggs or an omelette of 2-3 eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, coffee;
- lunch - beef steak, baked vegetables;
- afternoon snack - vegetable salad;
- dinner - fatty cottage cheese with added nuts, tea;
- at night - tea with a sandwich made of low-carb bread and butter.
Other days of the week are entirely up to imagination and there is no need to tie people to specific dishes, as they have a wide range of products at their disposal: chicken, turkey, rabbit, beef, pork, lamb, fish, eggs, hard cheese, cottage cheese, broths, milk and fermented milk products, lemon, orange, grapefruit, lettuce, tea, coffee and lots of water.
Contraindications
The fat diet has its own contraindications associated with its imbalance, because no one has canceled the role of carbohydrates in the functioning of the body. They are involved in the synthesis of enzymes, hormones, secretions. In addition, they are a source of energy, food for the brain. Carbohydrates are broken down directly in the stomach, saturating the body. For this, fats and proteins need more time, so their simultaneous intake leads to the formation of fat reserves, weight gain. Only absolutely healthy people can resort to a fat diet. Problems with the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, gallstone disease, endocrine diseases, the period of bearing a child and lactation are incompatible with this way of eating, otherwise there may be risks associated with the diet.
Complications
A low-carbohydrate diet can lead to possible complications. In diabetes mellitus - this is a hypoglycemic coma, gallstone and urolithiasis - displacement of stones and blockage of ducts, which is very dangerous for life. The human nervous system can also suffer, gastritis and pancreatitis can worsen.
Reviews and results

Most who liked it note not a quick, but a stable result, and take its concept itself as the basis for everyday nutrition: fewer simple carbohydrates, more proteins and fats, plus sports or physical activity.
