Nutritionists who offer various short diets for weight loss justify their principle of action by the fact that long-term adherence to a diet slows down metabolism, i.e. the body's metabolism. While time-limited diets (extreme), which include the 7-day diet, speed up metabolism and stimulate fat burning.

The essence of the 7-day diet
To reduce the volume of fat cells, you need to force the body to use the energy reserves concentrated in them - triglycerides. The essence of the 7-day diet comes down to, firstly, reducing the amount of food (which in most cases is excessive), secondly, converting the food consumed into energy (and not into fat reserves), thirdly, "unblocking" the existing fat reserves.
The results of any diet depend on how much fat reserves are converted into energy. The process of energy expenditure, as you understand, cannot take place lying on the couch or sitting in front of the computer. Therefore, you need to move in any way that is acceptable to you: walking, riding a bike, swimming in the pool, jumping rope, doing housework (for example, one hour of ironing burns as many calories as an hour of working on a tractor in the field).
In this case, fasting is completely unacceptable, since it promotes the release and increase in the level of such a thyroid hormone as reverse triiodothyronine, the physiological role of which is to regulate metabolism, in particular, the accumulation of lipids (i.e. fat).
What can you eat on short-term diets? These are foods containing carbohydrates, with moderate protein content and low fat content. Sweets - only in the form of fruits (apples, pears, peaches, strawberries are especially useful). You can also eat foods high in vitamins C and B (chicken, lean beef, oatmeal, lentils, citrus fruits). But the absolute favorites of such diets are vegetables!
What you can't eat when following a weekly diet? Fatty, floury and high-calorie foods are prohibited.
7 day diet minus 5 kg
The combined diet, called the 7-day minus 5 kg diet or the Bulgarian diet, is considered quite effective - due to three days out of seven (the first, third and sixth), when only unlimited fluid intake is allowed. This should be clean water, fruit and berry compotes without sugar and vegetable broths.
On the second day, you should eat only raw vegetables - in the form of salads; it is especially useful to include cabbage in them, because it helps burn fat.
The fourth day you should eat only fruits. And during the fifth day you should eat protein foods - 2-3 hard-boiled eggs and 300-350 g of boiled chicken. You can also include low-fat natural yogurt in the menu (no more than 150 g).
The seventh day (after the previous drinking day) is a transitional stage to the normal diet. The exit from the diet should be carried out on this day as follows:
- breakfast – a couple of boiled eggs and a cup of unsweetened tea;
- lunch – vegetable soup with added cereals;
- afternoon snack – any fruits and berries;
- Dinner – vegetable salad with olive oil.
We remind you that on each “non-drinking” day, you need to drink 8 glasses of water.
Here is the menu for the 7-day General Motors diet, which also promises to lose 11 pounds (that is, 5 kg).
- Day 1: fruits in any quantity, which may include watermelons, apples, pomegranates, strawberries, melons, citrus fruits.
- Day 2: Vegetables of your choice (boiled or raw), for example, just one baked potato or boiled beetroot.
- Day 3: vegetables and fruits (50/50).
- Day 4: Lenten vegetable soup, 4-5 bananas.
- Day 5: vegetable soup with beans, 400 g fresh tomatoes, 200 g fresh cucumbers, a bunch of greens, cottage cheese (no more than 200 g);
Day 6: Everything that was on day 5, except tomatoes.
Day 7: A cup of boiled brown rice, vegetables (except potatoes), fruits. It is also necessary to drink enough water daily to cleanse the body of toxins.
7 day buckwheat diet
Some "dietomaniacs" claim that a 7-day buckwheat diet helps you lose up to 10 kilograms of body weight, so this extremely strict diet has another name - 7-day diet minus 10 kg.
It is easy to guess what the main product in the 7-day buckwheat diet menu is, but it also includes low-fat kefir (one liter daily). Buckwheat is one of the healthiest cereals, containing vitamins, microelements, essential amino acids, protein and fiber. Buckwheat grains contain rutin, which reduces the fragility of vascular walls; buckwheat is very useful for those with high blood pressure and a not very healthy liver. And kefir contains calcium and proteins, in addition, it has a positive effect on digestion.
The amount of porridge eaten per day is not limited in principle, but it must be consumed without sugar, salt, or any spices (you can't eat much of it either). You also can't wash down buckwheat during meals. But you can drink a cup of coffee or tea per day (naturally, without sugar).

You also need enough (at least two liters per day) water. What can't you eat? Well, everything else is prohibited, sugar and salt are also strictly prohibited.
The menu of the 7-day kefir diet includes daily consumption of 500 ml of low-fat kefir, which is supplemented with:
- on the first day – baked potatoes (350-400 g);
- on the second day – low-fat cottage cheese (no more than 400 g);
- on the third day – fruits (up to 500 g);
- on the fourth day – boiled chicken (no more than 400g);
- on the fifth day – repeat the menu of the third day;
- on the sixth day – the amount of kefir increases to 1 liter;
- On the seventh day, repeat the menu of the third and sixth days.

7 day drinking diet
The juice diet or detox diet, which is often referred to as the 7-day drinking diet, puts the body into a state of metabolic stress. This diet has many restrictions: gastrointestinal diseases, kidney diseases, diabetes, etc.
Keep in mind: to pass this test you will need not only willpower, but also a good... juicer. You will also need a sufficient supply of fresh fruits and vegetables. It is recommended to take a few days off from work to survive the temporary deterioration in health at home.
At 7 am you need to drink 200 ml of warm water with the addition of two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to neutralize nausea and discomfort in the abdomen.
During the day, starting at 8 am - at intervals of 2.5 hours - you need to drink 250 ml of juice.
The 7-day drinking diet has the following “schedule” for drinking freshly squeezed juices:
- 8 am – carrots + orange + grapefruit;
- 10 o'clock – apples + pear;
- 12 o’clock – carrots + cabbage + apple;
- 15 o’clock – apple + mango + kiwi;
- 5 pm – orange + grapefruit or carrot + cucumber + cabbage + spinach + tomatoes;
- 20 hours – apple + spinach + celery + cucumber (or avocado).
It is necessary to drink as much water as possible, and it is best to drink the same amount of water for every 250 ml of juice.
7 day japanese diet
The daily menu of the 7-day diet, positioned as Japanese, although does not include rice, does use another product beloved by the Japanese - grilled fish.
Another feature: the 7-day Japanese diet recommends drinking a cup of natural black coffee for breakfast (except for the 5th day). Despite the fact that coffee became popular in Japan only in the 60-70s of the last century, now the Japanese have become real fans of coffee and consider the habit of drinking coffee in the morning to be one of the healthiest. And it's all about the antioxidant properties of chlorogenic and caffeic acid included in coffee beans. Eastern medicine has recognized the ability of coffee to cleanse the gallbladder and protect it from the formation of stones.
So, the 7-day Japanese diet suggests having boiled chicken eggs (2 pcs.) and a salad of one tomato with herbs for lunch on the first day, and grilling or baking sea fish in foil for dinner and serving it with a side dish of any fresh vegetables.
On the second day, fish with vegetables should be for lunch, and dinner should consist of 200 g of boiled meat (lean beef), you can drink a little kefir or yogurt.
Lunch on the third day of this diet includes hard-boiled eggs (1 pc.) and a salad of grated carrots seasoned with vegetable oil. Dinner consists of a couple of fresh apples.
The fourth day repeats the menu of the first day, but breakfast on the fifth day does not include a cup of coffee, but a carrot salad with lemon juice. Lunches and dinners on subsequent days include variations of boiled eggs, baked fish or meat with vegetable salads, including cabbage with carrots, tomatoes and cucumbers. In general, normal food.
Do you want to get recipes for the dishes of the above-described diets? But, obviously, you know the recipe for making buckwheat porridge (1 part of cereal and 2 parts of water, pour boiling water and cook for 12 minutes). It is also not difficult to cook a piece of chicken fillet or eggs. And no 7-day diet offers recipes for turkey with salsa and avocado, beefsteak with asparagus in lettuce leaves or fried shrimp with rice noodles and artichokes.
