How the child grows:
This week, a child's height reaches 40 cm, and weight 1.5 kg. He twists his head, his arms, legs, and body begin to grow fat, as the necessary fat accumulates under the skin. It moves a lot, so you may have trouble sleeping. It's not scary, relax, it's just a sign that your baby is healthy and active.
Important: the development of each child is strictly individual. Our information is designed to give you an idea of the development of the fetus.
Changes of the future mother
You must have noticed the contraction of the muscles in the uterus? Many women feel these occasional contractions - called Braxton-Hicks contractions - in the second half of pregnancy. Such fights last about 30 seconds, in most cases they are infrequent and painless. Frequent contractions can be a sign of premature birth. Immediately, call your doctor if the contractions are repeated more than four times within an hour, or you notice any other symptoms of premature birth: an increase in the number of vaginal discharge or changes in their structure, abdominal pain; increased pressure in the pelvic region; or pain in the lumbar region.
Recently, you may have noticed the discharge of colostrum from the chest. If so, put napkins in the bra, this will help you protect the clothes.
If you have a boy, you might think about circumcision. Consult your doctor and discuss this with your partner.
There are no correct methods of delivery. The case of each woman is individual, as well as every birth. Some women know in advance that they want anesthetic, others adjust themselves to the natural way, while others change their opinion in the course of the process. Read the information on all options to make the right choice, based on principles and informed decisions. When making decisions, consider the following factors:
- If you have not already done so, sign up for the preparatory courses for pregnant women. Teachers cover all topics of interest, including epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia and a systemic approach based on relaxation and respiration techniques.
- Most women choose anesthesia. The most popular form of anesthesia is epidural.
- Some women choose a natural way of giving birth without taking medicines.
- Whichever decision you choose, you have the right to change your mind at the time of delivery.
