Medical rehabilitation is carried out in 2 or 4 stages. Women who have successfully eliminated proteinuria and hypertension within 6 months after childbirth undergo two-stage rehabilitation, while patients with unresolved pathological symptoms undergo four-stage rehabilitation.
First stage. The objective of this stage is to eliminate the residual effects of late toxicosis of pregnancy: improving the functional state of the central nervous system, vascular tone and arterial pressure, normalizing the water-electrolyte and protein balance, eliminating hypovolemia. In this case, the patient is hospitalized with a treatment duration of up to 3 weeks.
Women who have given birth and have suffered from late toxicosis of pregnancy undergo daily measurement of blood pressure and diuresis, weekly clinical analysis of urine and blood, Zimnitsky, Nechiporenko, Reberg tests, determination of urea and total blood protein.
Second stage. Women in labor who have suffered late toxicosis have their blood pressure measured and their urine clinically analyzed 1-2 times a month in a polyclinic, and are examined by a therapist once a month to normalize the functional state of the central nervous system, vascular tone, and blood pressure. This continues for up to 1 year after delivery.
Treatment at the second stage of rehabilitation consists of prescribing sedatives and, if indicated, antihypertensive drugs.
Third stage. The objective of this stage is to diagnose diseases that developed as a result of late toxicosis of pregnancy and, accordingly, differentiated treatment of the identified disease - hypertension, kidney disease (glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis). Treatment is carried out in the nephrology department for up to 3 weeks. Women who have proteinuria and high blood pressure for 6 months after childbirth undergo an examination - X-ray, radioisotope and other special research methods.
Stage 4. Once a month, an examination is conducted in accordance with the characteristics of the identified disease, with continued treatment of the latter in women who have proteinuria and high blood pressure for 6 months after childbirth. The location is a polyclinic, the duration of treatment and observation is up to 1 year after childbirth.
At the fourth stage of rehabilitation, the treatment prescribed at the third or second stage is continued, depending on the diagnosis of the disease established by this time.
