The menstrual cycle in women varies in duration from 22 to 32 days. Despite such a significant difference (about 10 days), absolutely identical processes occur in the body of any woman. Under the influence of follicle-stimulating hormone, produced by the pituitary gland, the level of estrogens increases. This leads, on the one hand, to the maturation of the follicle in the ovary, and on the other hand, to the thickening of the endometrial layer in the uterus. These processes last about 14 days. During this time, the egg matures, the ovarian follicle bursts and ovulation occurs. At the moment of rupture of the follicle, some women experience an unpleasant or even painful sensation, and most do not feel anything.
The egg that has come out of the ruptured follicle moves towards the tube. It penetrates it and "waits" to meet the sperm. Fertilization of the egg is possible within a very short period of time - just a few hours. Unlike the egg, the sperm is capable of fertilization within a few days.
Taking into account all of the above, we can conclude that the most optimal time for conception will be the following days of the monthly cycle: from the 10th day after the first day of menstruation to the 15th-17th day. If you are interested in the so-called "safe" days, that is, those days when pregnancy will not occur, then these are all the days up to the tenth from the first day of menstruation (if menstruation lasts 3-4 days, then 6-7 days), and about 5 days before the onset of menstruation. Moreover, the latter are difficult to count, since not all women feel that menstruation is about to begin, although some feel it well. In addition, not all women have a strictly stable monthly cycle. Therefore, it is better not to take risks before menstruation (well, perhaps 1-2 days - during this period, every woman feels the onset of menstruation) - what if the cycle "goes wrong" and instead of 26-day becomes 32-day!
