Masks for the face have long been a favorite procedure for caring for the face of women. Masks made from natural ingredients are simple, affordable and useful. With the help of such home masks, you can support the youth and beauty of the skin, as well as solve some cosmetic items (blackheads, fatness, peeling, etc.).
However, cosmetologists say that with serious problems with the face skin, professional means should be used.
Professional face masks penetrate deep layers of the skin and regulate changes occurring in it with age, under the influence of external factors or chronic diseases.
The face care program developed by specialists pays special attention to face masks, which, above all, work for skin regeneration.
The modern cosmetic market divides face masks into two types: mass (available on sale and recommended for home use) and professional (offered in beauty salons). However, there are professional masks that you can use yourself without resorting to the help of a beautician.
Professional series of face masks differs in composition and action: cleansing, tightening, anti-smoking, rejuvenating, whitening, anti-inflammatory. Often, one mask solves several cosmetic problems.
Professional alginate face mask
Alginate facial masks used to be used only by professional cosmetologists in salons, but now such a mask is available for self-use. The name of the mask comes from alginic acid - the main component of the mask, which is found only in marine brown algae.
Alginic acid when interacting with water forms a gel-like mixture enriched with vitamins, minerals, proteins, thereby professional skin masks tighten, nourish, activate metabolic processes in the skin, moisturize and promote the production of collagen.
Alginate masks help with inflammation, increased work of the sebaceous glands and are suitable for any type of skin.
There are several types of alginate masks:
- basic (without additives) are used to improve the skin, inflammation, as well as an auxiliary to medical-cosmetic preparations (emulsions, serums, oils, etc.)
- Collagen rejuvenate and smooth a fine mesh of wrinkles.
- with chitosan moisturize and exert a strong pulling effect, restore cells, promote the delivery of oxygen (suitable for dry skin type)
- with vitamin C improve the complexion, nourish, help to eliminate pigmentation and reduce the manifestation of age-related changes
- with herbs remove redness, rashes, nourish, deeply clean, moisturize, remove harmful substances.
Alginate masks can be freely bought at a cosmetic store. Such masks are sold in the form of a powder (for preparation it is required to dissolve with water 1: 1) or ready gel formulations.
When the powder is diluted with water, mix the mixture very carefully so that there are no lumps and immediately apply to clean skin (eyelashes and eyebrows should be treated with a thick cream). The mask on the face needs to be applied quickly, because in 5-6 minutes it will completely solidify. As noted by many women, the problem of using alginate masks is precisely in the application, it is best to apply the mask lying down, which can cause difficulties and may require help from outside.
In addition, alginate masks enhance the effect of other cosmetic products (essential oils, creams, serums, etc.), which are applied 10-15 minutes before the application of the mask.
After solidification, the mask forms a dense film on the face, through which air or liquid does not penetrate. In this case, the pressure of the created mask promotes deeper penetration of other means into the skin.
The mask is removed from the face (without washing!) In half an hour. After that, it is recommended to rub the face with a tonic or apply a cream (if it was not applied under the mask).
Already after the first procedure, you can see some improvements, but alginate masks need to be done by the course (from 1 to 4 times a week).
Professional Moisturizing Face Masks
Moisturizing professional face masks are used at the end of cosmetic procedures. Such masks are recommended after peeling, for irritated, fading, tired skin.
In moisturizing face masks there are extracts and extracts from plants, algae, necessary minerals, coenzymes, etc.
Masks often contain hyaluronic acid, which helps moisturize the skin, oxygenate, improve color.
Masks with increased greasiness of the glands help to remove redness, inflammation, to level the color, to eliminate fatty shine. With dry or normal skin, moisturizing masks tighten, improve color.
To achieve maximum effect, it is recommended to use moisturizing mask by the course (8-14 masks). The number of procedures per week depends on the condition and type of skin, age.

Sensitive skin reacts very sharply to various external stimuli: cold wind, frost, sun, etc. Often irritation on the face appears with a tendency to allergies. In the composition of moisturizing masks for sensitive skin, there are natural oils with a delicate texture. Before applying the mask sensitive skin is not recommended to be cleaned with scrubs or peelings, to wash off the mask you need to take water at room temperature.
