Indications for plastic massage:
- Aging skin of the face and neck.
- Excessive amount of subcutaneous fat.
- Decreased skin turgor.
- First massage for clients over 40-45 years old.
- Weakened facial muscle tone.
- Dysfunction of the sebaceous glands - decreased sebum secretion.
- Pastosity and swelling of the soft tissues of the face.
- Fine-wrinkle type of aging.
- Deformational type of aging.
Plastic massage has a very strong effect on tissues, as a result of which lymph and blood circulation improve, muscle tissue is strengthened, and skin turgor increases.
Plastic massage consists of 4 main techniques: stroking, kneading, tapping, vibration - performed along massage lines. Most of the movements are the same as in classical massage. The fundamental difference lies in the kneading - this is the main technique in plastic massage. A distinction is made between superficial and deep kneading. The movements are performed continuously in a circle, back and forth, pressing the skin and underlying soft tissues to the bones, but in no case moving the skin. The purpose of kneading is to affect muscle fibers. With the help of kneading, blood flow improves, and therefore nutrition and metabolism in the muscles. In classical hygienic massage, kneading is more superficial, sliding, therefore the effect on the muscles is less pronounced. There are also differences in the performance of the "staccato" and vibration techniques. They are performed quickly and energetically. Energetic vibration has an exciting effect on the nervous system, and light vibration - an inhibitory one. Thus, during plastic massage, vibration excites the contractile ability of muscles and improves tissue trophism. Vibration during cosmetic massage is light, superficial, short in time and has an inhibitory effect.
Plastic massage is performed on talc. It is known that massage oil or cream is not used to obtain pronounced thermal, mechanical and reflex effects. Talc ensures tight adhesion of the cosmetologist's hands to the patient's skin, which makes it possible, depending on the technique and strength of the massage movement, to act on the tissues quite deeply.
Purpose
The duration of plastic massage together with massage of the back of the neck is 20 minutes. The course of treatment is 15-20 procedures every other day or 2 times a week; after the course of treatment - 1 time in 7-10 days.
Plastic massage techniques:
- Stroking:
- stroking along the main massage lines;
- stroking the front and sides of the neck.
- Kneading:
- superficial kneading;
- deep kneading of the muscles of the neck and face
- Tapping (“staccato”).
- Vibration
Massage technique
I. Stroking is performed with the palmar surface of the II-V finger
A. Stroking along the main massage lines (finishing with their fixation at the end):
- 1st line - stroking from the middle of the forehead to the temple;
- 2nd line - from the bridge of the nose along the lower edge of the orbicularis oculi muscle to the temples;
- 3rd line - from the middle of the orbicularis oris muscle to the tragus of the auricle;
- 4th line - from the middle of the chin to the exit of the facial nerve at the earlobe, from where with a light sliding movement the hands go down to the lateral surface of the neck to the sternum and move on to stroking the muscles of the neck from the front.
B. Stroking the front and side surfaces of the neck - starts from the sternum and goes up along the external carotid artery. Fixation at the facial nerve. Stroking the side surfaces of the neck - is performed from the earlobe down along the jugular vein to the middle of the collarbone and further to the deltoid muscle (to the shoulder). Stroking movements are done 3 times on each line and end with fixation. Count to 4.
2. Kneading is done with the palmar surface of the first and second phalanges of the II-V fingers from the middle of the chin. The movements are done strictly rhythmically, quite strong and go along the main massage lines in a spiral in the form of circles inscribed in each other. Count to 8 (the upper part of the circle counts to 4 and the lower part of the circle counts to 4). All transitional movements are done in the form of small dotted pressures with the terminal phalanges of the II and III fingers from the place of fixation to the place of the beginning of the new movement.
A. Superficial kneading
- 1st movement - kneading starts from the middle of the chin and goes to the earlobe;
- 2nd movement - from the middle of the orbicularis oris muscle, pressing it, to the tragus of the ear;
- 3rd movement - goes along the bottom of the orbicularis oculi muscle with pressing pressure on the area of the nose, where 2-3 circles are made, counting to 4;
- 4th movement - starts from the wings of the nose and goes to the temporal cavity along the lower edge of the orbicularis oculi muscle under the zygomatic bone;
- 5th movement - kneading the orbicularis oculi muscle, performed with pressing pressure in the form of a dotted line with the II, III, IV fingers; the eyebrow is passed between the II-III fingers;
- 6th movement - kneading the forehead muscles; performed from the middle of the forehead to the temples (6-8 circles); transitional movement, pressing pressure along the lower edge of the orbicularis oculi muscle through the bridge of the nose to the middle of the forehead;
- 7th movement - kneading the muscles of the neck; after kneading the muscles of the forehead (3 times) and fixing them on the temples, it is necessary to go down the lateral surface of the cheeks with circular pressing pressure to the corner of the lower jaw, and then approach the middle of the chin with dotted pressure and move on to the next movement;
- 8th movement - kneading the muscles under the chin (submandibular region) up to the earlobe 3 times;
- 9th movement - kneading the lateral surfaces of the neck, performed from the angle of the lower jaw down along the jugular vein to the collarbone, then kneading the muscles of the subclavian region and sternum is done;
- 10th movement - kneading from the sternum up the anterolateral surface of the neck to the angle of the lower jaw; the movement ends with fixation at the earlobe; then, with dotted pressure, it is necessary to move to the middle of the chin, from where the next movement begins.
B. Deep kneading of the muscles of the neck and face.
It is performed along the same lines as the previous one. This movement is performed with almost the entire palmar surface of the fingers and partially with the palm. Deep kneading, as well as superficial, ends at the exit of the nerve - at the earlobe, from where you need to move on with dotted pressure to the next movement to the middle of the chin.
- Tapping (“staccato”).
A. Loop-shaped "staccato".
It is carried out in circles inscribed in each other, with the tips of all fingers along the same lines as stroking and kneading, and goes from the chin along the main massage lines upward, then returns along the lateral surface of the face to the neck, chest and again to the middle of the chin.
B. "Staccato" with straight fingers.
From the middle of the chin, tapping ("staccato") along the main lines of the skin with straight fingers (just like in cosmetic massage, not in circles), going down to the middle of the chin. "Staccato" with straight fingers is not done on the neck area. It ends at the earlobe and with connecting movements approaches the chin area;
- Vibration.
It is performed with the entire palmar surface of the fingers along the same lines as the previous movements, and ends in the forehead area.
NB! Staccato and vibrations are performed quickly and energetically.
- Stroking the muscles of the face and neck.
- Neck massage from behind.
