If the average area of the total skin of an adult is about two square meters, then the skin of the face accounts for only plus or minus 1.5% of this area. Nevertheless, it is the skin of the face that women pay the lion's share of attention and care to. Obviously, because the face is the most individual part of the human body, and for women it is the most accessible place to demonstrate their beauty. Therefore, nourishing face masks that improve appearance occupy an honorable place among cosmetic procedures that are carried out at home.
Effective Nourishing Face Mask: The Main Thing Is Your Skin Type
Not everyone can boast of healthy facial skin, that is, clean, elastic and smooth. Because the condition of the skin on the face largely depends on the complex biochemical processes that occur throughout the body. These processes determine the skin type, which can be normal, oily, dry, combination or sensitive. And nourishing face masks should be done taking into account the type of skin you have.
Women with normal skin should be happy: this type of skin, according to cosmetologists, is very rare. Those with dry skin are well aware of the feeling of tightness (especially after washing), as well as frequent peeling of the skin (especially in the cold season). Owners of oily skin are most unhappy with its shiny appearance and enlarged pores. Cheer up, ladies! All cosmetologists claim that oily skin ages more slowly than other types.
With combination skin, it's a hassle: the skin on the forehead, chin and nose is oily, while in other areas it's closer to dry. But it's even more difficult for those whose facial skin is very sensitive and prone to irritation.
Nourishing Face Mask Recipes
So, we want the skin on our face to be clean, elastic and smooth. For this, the arsenal of home skin care products includes recipes for a nourishing face mask for any skin type.
Agree, what is good for dry skin is not very suitable for oily skin. For example, for normal skin, the most useful homemade nourishing face mask is made from natural bee honey, egg yolk and oil - olive or essential oils such as almond, lavender, geranium, apricot or peach kernel, jojoba, neroli (which are suitable for this type of skin). To prepare such a nourishing and toning mask, you need to mix a raw yolk and a teaspoon of honey and add 5 drops of one of the above essential oils. The second way: mix the yolk and a teaspoon of olive oil. It is enough to do such a nourishing mask for normal skin at least a couple of times a week.
By the way, have you forgotten that all masks are applied to the skin of the face after thorough cleansing? And remember that the face is not a sandwich: the mixture should not just be “smeared”, but applied along massage lines: on the forehead - from the middle to the temples; on the cheeks - from the middle of the chin, corners of the mouth and wings of the nose - to the earlobe. Any nourishing face masks are kept for 15-20 minutes, and then either washed off with warm water, or removed with a damp napkin, followed by rinsing the face with ordinary water or herbal decoction at room temperature.
Homemade Nourishing Mask for Oily Skin
With oily skin, the sebaceous glands located in it work in an enhanced mode, so the recipes for a nourishing face mask for this type of skin do not contain oils. The exception is essential oils, which are useful for this type of skin because they help narrow the pores. These include: lemon, lavender, bergamot, orange, grapefruit, ylang-ylang, as well as tea tree, lemon balm, thyme and chamomile oils. Honey is also useful for oily skin.
Here is a recipe for a mask, for the preparation of which you first need to brew strong tea - black or green (but not in bags). And then combine a tablespoon of the resulting brew with a tablespoon of liquid natural honey and two tablespoons of oatmeal ground in a coffee grinder.
Vitamins and microelements contained in fruits and berries also nourish the skin. Therefore, it is useful to make such a mask for oily skin: mash 3-4 strawberries to a puree state, add one beaten egg white, a teaspoon of potato starch and a few drops of essential oil (one of the above). If you don’t have strawberries at hand, a teaspoon of honey will successfully replace them.
Here is an effective nourishing face mask with yeast. To prepare it, you need to grind a piece of fresh yeast and a tablespoon of yogurt into a thick porridge, add 1-2 teaspoons of oatmeal (oatmeal) and 5 drops of lemon, orange or grapefruit essential oil. If you have pimples - chamomile, thyme or tea tree oil.
Homemade Nourishing Mask for Dry Skin
Dry skin needs fat (its own sebum production is not enough) and moisture. Therefore, a moisturizing nourishing face mask is especially useful for this skin type.
First of all, the same honey, egg yolk and olive oil are used, which have a particularly beneficial effect on dry skin. Twice a week, it is recommended to make a mask, which includes one raw egg yolk and a teaspoon of olive oil and liquid honey. If you replace the honey in this mixture with the same amount of fresh yeast, then such a mask (if you do it two or three times a week) will significantly increase skin turgor and smooth out fine wrinkles.
In addition, you can add a tablespoon of oatmeal to the yolk with olive oil, and then soft and velvety skin is guaranteed.
The "Swedish" cottage cheese mask is very effective for nourishing dry skin. For it, you will need three teaspoons of fresh cottage cheese and one teaspoon of liquid honey, which should be whipped into a homogeneous mass. In addition to nourishing the skin, this mask cleanses and refreshes it.
For very dry skin, a nourishing potato face mask will be useful. It is prepared from boiled and mashed potatoes, to which warm milk and a raw egg yolk are added. The mask should be applied warm.
Homemade Nourishing Mask for Combination and Sensitive Skin
For combination skin, a recipe for a wonderful honey-protein-flour mask is offered. To prepare it, you need to take a dessert spoon of liquid honey, which should be ground with one egg white and a tablespoon of regular wheat flour. This mask should not be done more than once a week.
Vitamin nutrition for combination skin can be provided by a mask prepared according to the following recipe: a tablespoon of oatmeal is mixed with one or two tablespoons of natural juice - orange, apple or peach.
An oatmeal mask prepared according to the following recipe has a beneficial effect on sensitive skin. Take a tablespoon of a mixture of dried herbs - chamomile, mint and plantain - and brew with a glass of boiling water, let it brew under a lid for 20-25 minutes and strain. Then mix a tablespoon of crushed oatmeal (or oatmeal) with an infusion of medicinal plants - to get a mass of medium thickness. Add half a teaspoon of olive or corn oil. Mix the mass until smooth and apply to the face for 20 minutes. Wash off the mask first with warm water, then with cool water.
Homemade Nourishing Mask for Mature Skin
Unfortunately, with age, the skin loses both freshness and elasticity. Therefore, mature skin (i.e. fading) needs proper care and increased attention. An effective nourishing face mask for mature ladies uses ingredients that help solve the problems of dry and sensitive skin. And honey with olive oil and yolk are among them.
But here are some options for homemade nourishing masks for mature (and over-mature) skin. Recipe one: mash half a banana to a puree, add a teaspoon of liquid honey and heavy cream (or sour cream).
Recipe two: mix egg yolk, a tablespoon of aloe juice and a teaspoon of olive oil.
Recipe three – an old Spanish mask: soak 10 beans for several hours, then boil (in unsalted water, of course). Rub the boiled beans through a sieve, mix with the juice of half a lemon and one tablespoon of olive oil. This mask perfectly nourishes the skin and smoothes wrinkles.
Reviews of Nourishing Face Masks
According to most comments and reviews about nourishing face masks, the female audience not only reads all sorts of recipes for home skin care products, but also successfully applies them in practice. By the way, many use only natural ingredients and buy the necessary products at the market, not in supermarkets, to prepare homemade nourishing face masks. They say that a dozen chicken eggs bought "from grandma at the market" are enough for a month, and a small jar of truly natural honey - at least for three.
And finally, one more secret of healthy skin. As the famous Coco Chanel said, at twenty a woman has the face that God gave her; at thirty – the one she managed to create for herself. And at fifty, you have to earn your face… Nourishing face masks will surely help you with this, because they are a time-tested and easy-to-use way to provide the skin with the necessary elements for its better blood supply, regeneration and protection from negative external influences.
