What do the recognized Hollywood beauties Sharon Stone, Nicole Kidman, Melanie Griffith, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow and Julianne Moore have in common, except for a successful film career? They all have to do freckle facial cosmetic mask - cosmetic masks for freckles.
Freckles - in Greek ephelides - are not a skin disease, but a reaction to the ultraviolet spectrum of sunlight. Freckles are mostly found in fair-skinned people with light or reddish hair (remember the song from the cartoon "Red, red, freckled..."). They have little melanin in their skin, and it is distributed unevenly - in the form of clusters of this coloring pigment.
Many people are irritated by freckles, and like Nicole Kidman, they are ready to do anything to get rid of the "sun splashes" on their face. The simplest and most accessible remedy is a face mask for freckles.
Recipes for masks against freckles
Since ancient times, women have whitened their skin with cucumber, parsley, lemon and sour milk. Cucumber and lemon contain organic acids, and parsley contains essential oils that also fight hyperpigmentation well.
A cucumber mask for freckles is the simplest. Just wash a fresh cucumber, cut it into thin slices and put them on your face for 20 minutes. For a greater effect, you can chop the cucumber with a grater and put the resulting mass on your face.
A cucumber face mask for freckles can be prepared from the same grated cucumber (2 tablespoons of the mixture) with the addition of a teaspoon of sour cream and the same amount of fresh lemon juice.
By the way, Nicole Kidman uses lemon juice in the fight against freckles. Among the effective masks for freckles is this: beat the egg white and add a tablespoon of lemon juice. If the skin is dry, you need to "soften" the mask with a few drops of almond or peach oil. Keep the mask on the face for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. For normal and oily skin, lemon juice can be replaced with hydrogen peroxide (10 drops of a 3% solution).
Here is a recipe for a mask for freckles with lemon juice and yeast: grind a piece (20 g) of regular fresh yeast into a homogeneous mass with warm water or sour milk, add a teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply the mask to the face for 20 minutes and remove with water at room temperature.
Whitening masks for freckles with parsley
In addition to the fact that parsley greens are great for fighting freckles, they also help improve skin elasticity and smooth out fine lines, including crow's feet at the outer corners of the eyes.
To prepare a whitening mask for freckles, chop a small bunch of greens in any available way. For 2 tablespoons of the resulting mass, take a tablespoon of sour cream (for dry skin) or the same amount of low-fat yogurt (for oily skin), mix until smooth and send to the face for 15-20 minutes. The mask is washed off with water at room temperature.
The second recipe for a face mask for freckles: 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley should be mixed with a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice, apply the mixture to the areas where freckles accumulate, keep for about 25 minutes, wash off with warm water, and then rinse your face with cool water.
Reviews of parsley-based masks for freckles are only positive. Some experts in home cosmetic procedures advise adding dandelion leaves to parsley (in equal proportions). Indeed, dandelion is also famous for its whitening properties. However, it is not the leaves of this plant that whiten freckles, but the infusion of flowers…
Effective masks for freckles
Sour milk (yogurt), as well as kefir, are often used in face masks for freckles. Here is a very simple but quite effective mask, for the preparation of which you need to mix yogurt (two tablespoons) with wheat bran (tablespoon). This mask is applied for 15 minutes. A cottage cheese mask will also help lighten freckles, for which you will need a tablespoon of trorog and sour cream, ground with a teaspoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. The mass is applied to the face for 20 minutes, after which it is washed off with warm water.
Now let's move on to other, no less effective face masks for freckles, which contain both familiar ingredients and lesser-known ones.
A whitening mask for freckles with potatoes is made in two ways. The first method: a small raw potato is peeled, grated on a fine grater, a tablespoon of oatmeal ground in a coffee grinder, three tablespoons of milk or sour milk and a few drops of olive oil are added to it. The mask is applied to the face for a quarter of an hour, after which it is washed off with lukewarm water.
And the American women make this mask like this: juice is squeezed out of raw potatoes, mixed with milk (in equal parts) and regular wheat flour - until the consistency of thick sour cream. The mass is evenly applied to the skin of the face for about 20 minutes, and then removed with warm water.
Effective masks for freckles can be made from viburnum berries. To do this, squeeze the juice from the viburnum berries and mix it with an equal volume of egg white whipped into foam. This mask works especially well on normal and oily skin, and it should be done for two weeks - 25 minutes daily.
A whitening mask for freckles with grapefruit juice (which is similar in composition to lemon juice) is made on the basis of yeast (20 g of yeast per 50 g of juice), as well as on the basis of wheat flour or oatmeal (juice and flour in equal quantities). Such cosmetic masks are kept on the face for 15-20 minutes and removed with warm water or herbal decoction.
A face mask for freckles is also made with onion juice, which is mixed with natural honey (1:1), and even with horseradish. Here are some great recipes for masks for freckles with horseradish. Recipe one: grate and mix horseradish root and apple (one tablespoon each), after applying to the face, keep the mask on for no more than a quarter of an hour and wash it off in the usual way. Recipe two: mix a teaspoon of grated horseradish with 100 ml of sour milk or kefir and a tablespoon of flour or oatmeal. Everything else is the same as in the first recipe.
A whitening mask for freckles made from sauerkraut is made by applying a napkin soaked in its brine to your face (for 10 minutes). A cabbage stalk will also help lighten freckles: it needs to be grated and mixed with a few drops. Experts claim that with nightly procedures your freckles “will have a pale appearance”…
As is known, the medicinal plant licorice is widely used in cough mixtures. In addition, licorice contains organic acids and phenolic compounds that promote skin depigmentation. Licorice decoction is prepared in a steam bath for about half an hour - one teaspoon of dry root in crushed form per 200 ml of boiling water. Based on this decoction, you can make whitening masks for freckles with such components as oatmeal, clay, flour (wheat and rye), bran.
Reviews of masks for freckles on various women's Internet forums indicate that masks for freckles really help many people. Ladies especially praise the mask with lemon juice and yeast (see the recipe at the beginning of this publication). And they even improved it a little by adding aloe juice.
By the way, most people with freckles live in northern countries, where there is not much sunlight...
