A parsley mask is a simple way to improve the condition of your skin without resorting to expensive creams.

The well-known seasoning for dishes can both decorate the culinary masterpiece you have prepared and help restore freshness and an even tone to your skin. A parsley mask wonderfully whitens the skin, refreshes it, saturates it with vitamins and eliminates unsightly oily shine. It promotes skin rejuvenation, becoming your accessible weapon in the fight against wrinkles.

Benefits of parsley for skin

Parsley owes its popularity in natural home cosmetology to the many useful substances that it contains, namely:

  1. Vitamin C, which reduces the harmful effects of solar radiation. Ascorbic acid also promotes collagen production and prevents skin pigmentation. It is noteworthy that 100 g of parsley contains 4 times more of this vitamin than lemon. However, it needs support: without vitamin P, the skin simply will not absorb it.
  2. Vitamins of group B: B9, B3, B5, B2, B6, B1, each of them has a positive effect on the appearance of the skin. For example, B1 helps to fight premature wrinkles, B2 perfectly moisturizes, and B9 prevents the aggressive influence of the environment.
  3. Vitamin A, which provides elasticity to the skin. When there is a deficiency of this substance in the body, the skin becomes dry, flaky and rough.
  4. Vitamin E, which, interacting with vitamins C and A, prevents the formation of free radicals, preserves natural moisture and protects against UV radiation - one of the main factors of skin aging.
  5. Vitamin K, which ensures blood clotting, which is important when caring for eyelids and treating rosacea.

Thanks to the listed components, the parsley mask helps:

  • eliminate pigmentation and dryness;
  • refresh;
  • restore the top layer of the epidermis;
  • normalize the secretion of sebaceous glands.

Don't forget that in order for vitamin care to give good results, take these substances not only externally, but also internally.

Based on the above, the composition of parsley is great for caring for any skin type. Note that if there are certain contraindications when eating it, then in cosmetology, warnings apply only to people who are allergic to its components.

How to make a parsley face mask?

The first thing you need to do is buy the best greens. When choosing parsley, pay attention to the color and condition of the leaves: they should be bright green and without signs of wilting. The stem should be elastic, and its end should have a fresh cut. If you notice signs of rotting, leave such parsley lying on the store shelf.

When the freshest greens from the store (or market) get to your home, the first thing you need to do is wash them thoroughly and dry them, laying them out on a dry towel. Note that both fresh and frozen parsley are suitable for the mask, because it does not lose its beneficial properties when exposed to cold.

Before cutting, you need to tear the leaves off the stems. When cutting parsley, use a well-sharpened knife, make sure that the herbs are not crushed or lose their juice prematurely. Also remember that 30 g is one tablespoon, and 15 g is one teaspoon.

In addition to parsley, a homemade mask should also contain natural ingredients that are most suitable for you.

Parsley face mask

To prepare a universal parsley mask, pour a glass of boiling water over finely chopped greens and wait until it cools. Then strain the resulting mixture through a sieve. Apply a thin layer to your face, hold for 20-25 minutes, and wash with water at a comfortable temperature. One bunch of greens is enough for preparation.

However, people suffering from excessively oily skin are better off using one of the following recipes:

  1. Mix 30 g of fresh herbs with 60 g of kefir (yogurt). Keep it on your face for 15 minutes. Rinse with cool, clean water. "White" yogurt without additives is also suitable for preparing this miracle remedy.
  2. Mix 30 g of parsley and 30 g of ground oatmeal. Pour in 15 g of lemon juice and a little mineral or hot water so that the mixture acquires a mushy consistency. Keep the mask on for 15 minutes, wash off with cool clean water.
  3. Mix 30 g of finely chopped parsley with low-fat kefir (2 tablespoons), starch and bran - 15 g each. Apply to face and hold for 15 minutes. Then rinse with clean cool water.
  4. Cook oatmeal with milk without sugar. Mix 60 g of warm porridge with 60 g of parsley. Melt 30 g of butter and add it to the porridge. Apply to face, rinse with warm water after 10 minutes.

To care for dry skin, you can use one of the following masks:

  1. Sour cream - mix parsley and sour cream in equal proportions: 30 g / 30 g, put the mask on for 15 minutes and wash with warm water. For very dry skin, sour cream can be replaced with heavy cream.
  2. Egg – in the same proportions as in the sour cream mask, mix parsley with egg yolk. You also need to add 15 g of olive oil. Lubricate the skin of the face and hold for no more than 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
  3. Curd – 30 g of parsley, rubbed with 30 g of curd. Keep the mixture on your face for about 15 minutes. It is also suitable for normal skin.

A mask of parsley and dill helps fight the first signs of aging. Mix the greens - 30 g of each. Then pour a glass of boiling water over the resulting mass and let it brew for three hours. You will need a rag. Soak it in the infusion and hold it on your face for 10 minutes. Fading skin requires constant care. Prepare this decoction and pour it into an ice cube tray. Wipe your face with the resulting healthy cubes in the morning, this will give it freshness and prolong the youth of your skin.

For acne-prone skin, take note of our grandmothers' advice: break 1 egg into a deep plate, separating the yolk from the white, and mix the latter with 30 g of finely chopped parsley. Add 3 drops of garlic juice. Spot treat problem areas, it is advisable to keep the mask on for 20 minutes. When washing off, alternate cool water with warm.

Parsley mask around the eyes

Don't forget that the thinnest skin is around the eyes, which is why it is most susceptible to age-related changes. Genetics, poor nutrition, stress, lack of sleep and bad habits sometimes become our strongest opponents in the fight for youthful skin. Folk recipes, although not a panacea, help to delay the onset of aging and reduce its visible signs.

The main weapon in the fight against wrinkles around the eyes is constant moisturizing. Make it a habit to make masks for the skin around the eyes every week. To do this, put chopped greens on gauze pads and, closing your eyes, hold them for 20 minutes. Then remove the pads and carefully remove the remaining parsley with a cotton pad.

Another effective rejuvenating agent is a mask of parsley and low-fat cottage cheese. Mash 60 g of low-fat cottage cheese with a fork, add 15 g of parsley juice and half as much vegetable oil, mix. Apply the mixture under the eyes and hold for 15 minutes. It is recommended to wash off with a warm infusion of parsley.

If you have dark circles around your eyes due to stress or a sleepless night, use the following folk recipe. Finely grate one raw peeled potato. Chop the parsley with a knife, pour boiling water over it and let it brew for 20 minutes. Mix 30 g of grated potato and 60 g of the resulting infusion, add 30 g of olive oil. After checking whether the mask has cooled down enough, place it on gauze pads and hold on your closed eyes for 20 minutes. Remove the gauze and the remains of the mask with a cotton pad.

After such procedures, you may feel tightness of the skin - apply a moisturizing cream to the eye area. Remember, if it is winter outside, it is not recommended to leave the house for 40 minutes after applying the moisturizing cream. Therefore, parsley masks for the skin around the eyes in the cold season are best done before bed.

Parsley eye mask

The skin of the eyelids is also subject to age-related changes, so it requires constant softening, nutrition and moisturizing. A parsley mask helps to cope with these tasks perfectly. There are a couple of its variations:

  1. Sour cream – mix 60 g of sour cream with 15 g of finely chopped parsley. Apply the mixture to the eyelids and cover them with cotton pads. Wash off the mask after 15 minutes using warm water and a sponge.
  2. Ice – mix crushed ice with fresh cucumber and chopped parsley. Wrap the mixture in gauze and hold it on the lower eyelids for 5 minutes, lying down. Remember that the ice mask is contraindicated for use in cases of vascular problems.

When caring for the skin around the eyes and eyelids, remember that it needs to be treated very delicately: apply products with light touching movements, without stretching it.

Parsley and sour cream mask

The beneficial effect that parsley brings to the skin is enhanced if you combine it with another beneficial component – sour cream. What is the latter good for?

  1. Firstly, sour cream is a great moisturizer. Thanks to the lactic acid it contains, the moisture that gets into the skin is retained there. This prevents dehydration of the skin and, as a result, the appearance of wrinkles.
  2. Secondly, sour cream has an exfoliating effect. Thanks to it, the skin becomes soft.
  3. Thirdly, it does not clog pores and has an antibacterial effect.

Lactic acid contained in sour cream penetrates into the pores and stimulates collagen fibers to restore.

All of the above makes sour cream an excellent component for parsley masks.

There are the following recipes for making the mask:

  1. Mix 30 g of chopped parsley and sour cream, which should be 2-3 times more. Then add some soaked oatmeal. Apply to dry, clean skin and hold for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off the mask with cold, clean water.
  2. If your skin is prone to oiliness and pigmentation, prepare a mask of parsley juice and milk or sour milk. Mix the ingredients in equal quantities, then apply to your face. After 15 minutes, rinse with room temperature water.

These masks perfectly whiten, refresh, tone and saturate the skin with vitamins.

Whitening mask with parsley

Uneven skin tone and the presence of pigment spots on the face do not make a woman look good. And cute freckles sometimes upset the fairer sex, who strive to look like doll-porcelain models from the covers of fashion magazines. In these cases, you can resort to the "great-grandmother's method" and use available products that have been known for their whitening properties for decades. For example, a decoction of fresh parsley: soak a cotton swab in it and apply it to the spot. Be careful and do not overdo it. After the procedure, be sure to apply a nourishing or moisturizing cream to your face, depending on your skin type, to avoid overdrying.

You can also whiten your skin with a homemade parsley lotion. Make a strong decoction from it, mix the decoction with lemon juice in equal proportions. Wipe your face daily: in the morning and before bed, do not forget to apply a moisturizer afterwards.

As you can see, the recipes are ridiculously simple, you just need to spend a little time and – voila: your skin is brighter and looks well-groomed!

Parsley Hair Mask

Enough has already been said above about the benefits of parsley for facial skin. It would be unfair to forget to mention that it is also an excellent means for strengthening hair and stimulating its growth.

First of all, the recipe for a parsley mask should be “taken into account” by people with oily hair. To prepare it, take one large or two small bunches, rinse thoroughly and chop the washed greens finely. Mix the resulting gruel with castor oil and let it brew for 5-7 minutes. The mask should be rubbed into the hair and scalp, and kept for half an hour. Then rinse, if possible, using a contrast method: alternating cool water with warm.

To restore the lost shine of your hair, use the following recipe: boil a tablespoon of parsley for 15 minutes in a half-liter container with clean water. Strain, rinse your hair with the resulting decoction after washing with shampoo.

Strengthening of hair can be achieved with the help of a mask of parsley fruits. To prepare it, it is necessary to grind the fruits in a mortar, add 15 g of alcohol and 30 g of castor oil, mix well. After washing your hair with shampoo, divide your hair into partings and rub the mask into the scalp. Repeat the procedure every other day for a month. This will not only strengthen your hair, but also stimulate its growth.

Reviews of parsley masks

When browsing forums about folk beauty remedies for facial skin and hair, the word "parsley" can be encountered more than often. The usefulness of the plant has been repeatedly tested by more than one generation of women, so only the lazy have not written about it.

The author of the article tested the effectiveness of some recipes on herself and can honestly say that the effect is noticeable. In addition, an integral advantage of the tested masks was the simplicity of their preparation with little time and money.

Of course, if problem skin is a consequence of malfunctions in the internal organs, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to them. In any case, a parsley mask, as an independent measure, and as an addition to treatment, will become an indispensable weapon in the fight for the beauty and youth of your skin.
