Inadequate hair care, exposure to harmful environmental factors often lead to loss of brilliance, splitting, progressive porosity and reduced hair strength. All these phenomena are associated with damage to a number of structures of the hair itself. To solve these problems, cosmetic preparations for hair care after washing are used. The general requirements for such drugs are:
- return hair to shine;
- facilitating combing;
- strengthening of thin, weakened hair and increase of their elasticity;
- removal of static electricity;
- ease of styling;
- addition of silky hair without weighting them.
Classification of products for hair care after washing (according to the French Cosmetic Industry Federation)
- Washable (rinses).
- Indelible.
The washable washout group covers all types of rinsers, or conditioners, starting with liquid milk, conditioner rinses, hair creams with various consistencies, ending with liquid gels. The following forms usually include the following components:
- Base base (fats, alcohols, ethers, waxes)
- Thickener (often used hydrophilic colloid, which is necessary to stabilize the emulsion form)
- Conditioning additives (cationic detergents and silicones)
- Special components (various medical, sunscreen products). For example, Laboratories Dermatologiques Ducray (France), as additives to the scalp lotion, uses substances that stimulate hair growth factors (Anastim lotion for the treatment of diffuse alopecia in men and women)
- Preservatives
A group of indelible products is represented by various solutions (lotions and so-called serums), foams, conditioning creams.
The basic composition of washable and indelible cosmetic preparations is described in the sections for the care of dry and oily hair.
