Knowledges in cosmetics people claim that a coffee face mask can be considered a classic for dull tired skin. As the morning cup of freshly brewed coffee gives the person a charge of vivacity, so the mask from the coffee grounds perfectly tones the epidermal cells and at the same time is suitable for all skin types - with the addition of ingredients depending on the problems of your skin.

The benefits of coffee for the skin

About 10 years ago, cosmetic companies began using caffeine as an ingredient in skin care products because of its incredible pull-up and smoothing effect. And almost all the reviews about the facial mask contain the phrase "this really works, and the skin looks much younger".

So what does "work" in these masks, that is, what is the use of coffee for the skin?

Everyone knows that coffee contains caffeine - about 40-60 mg per 100 g. Caffeine is a stimulating CNS psychoactive substance - methylxanthine alkaloid (trimethylxanthine with purine base). Coffee trees this substance serves as a natural protection against pests and acts as a pesticide that can paralyze and kill an insect. And for useful insect pollinators, the same caffeine increases the number of offspring.

In addition, coffee grains contain dendentol, cafestol and kahveol - terpenic organic compounds, derivatives of geranyl pyrophosphate. These substances have an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect.

Physiological activity and potent antibacterial action are inherent in phenolic compounds such as caffeic acid and 3-caffeine-quinic acid, more commonly known as chlorogenic.

Coffee has antioxidant properties due to its free radical scavenger, which helps neutralize oxidation reactions. And it is also a gentle exfoliant (exfoliating agent), which improves blood circulation and promotes normalization of lipid metabolism in skin cells. In addition, coffee has the same pH level as our skin. So a simple mask based on natural ground coffee (soluble does not suit!) And even a mask from the coffee grounds will help make the skin more fresh and smooth.

And here are some recipes that you must definitely try.

Mask for face with coffee and honey

This mask has a triple effect on the skin of any type: coffee - an antioxidant and soft exfoliant, and honey - a natural moisturizer. Both ingredients must be taken in equal amounts (on a tablespoon) and mixed very well in a homogeneous mass. The mask is applied to the face, held for 20 minutes and rinsed.

If the skin is prone to fat, you can add half a teaspoon of lemon juice, and if dry - so much almond oil or chemist's oil solution of vitamin A.

Mask from sour cream and coffee

Normal and dry skin will perceive this sour cream coffee mask as smoothing and softening. You will surely see for yourself: just enough for 20-25 minutes to keep on the face a mixture of a tablespoon of fatty sour cream and a tablespoon of ground coffee.

But if you have a combination skin, then separate a third of the resulting mass into a separate pot and add there a teaspoon of oat flakes powdered into powder; this part will need to cover the shiny areas on the face or areas with enlarged pores.

It is recommended to replace sour cream with low-fat yogurt or kefir, and then you will get a wonderful "multifunctional" mask for oily skin.

Mask from ground coffee and olive oil

This mask nourishes the pale and dull skin, moisturizes the dry and tones up the wrinkled skin. You just need to carefully mix the ground coffee and olive oil in a 1: 1 ratio.

Those who already use coffee for cosmetic purposes, claim that this composition can also cover the skin around the eyes.

And if every day during the week to do this simple procedure, then for 1-1,5 months you can get rid of dark circles and bags under the eyes.

Mask of coffee from acne

Of all the options for this mask, it's easiest to make a mask from coffee from acne with the addition of ordinary milk at room temperature. The proportions should be such that the mixture does not drain off the face during and after application.

The mask lasts until completely dry, and where the acne is concentrated, it can be covered with a second layer. Everything is washed off with cool water.

With scars from blackheads, cosmetologists advise mixing ground coffee with cocoa powder (evenly) and gradually add milk, and if the skin is very oily - boiled water.

Scrub-mask from coffee

And, of course, you can apply scrub masks made of coffee for cleaning the skin, the preparation of which is also not difficult.

3 tablespoons finely ground coffee mixed with milk to a thick slurry, apply mass to face and neck in circular motions, massage your face for another minute and leave for a quarter of an hour. After washing, a moisturizer is applied to keep moisture in the upper layers of the epidermis.

Age-related skin prone to dryness will require adding to the mixture a teaspoon of ground oatmeal and natural honey. And for oily skin, the composition of the coffee mask-scrub can be supplemented with a pinch of baking soda.

Masks for the face of green coffee

Recipes that prepare face masks from green coffee, as well as the specificity of their effect on the skin (taking into account the components) are identical to masks using ground black coffee.

However, their antioxidant properties are more pronounced, since there are more chlorogenic acids in the green coffee beans, which partially decomposes during coffee roasting (and the result of this process is the unrivaled smell of black coffee).

Also in green grains the content of proteins and free amino acids - alanine, asparagine, leucine, etc., is higher.

As you can see, the coffee mask for the face is definitely useful and, importantly, everything you need for cooking it is in your kitchen.
