The hectic pace of life, unfavorable ecology, stress, hormonal and other factors have a negative effect on the body and are reflected first of all on the skin of the face. Therefore, it is necessary to take special care of it: clean, nourish, moisturize, help to renew. Proper facial cleansing at home is quite possible; it is a simple and affordable way of care.

Advantages and disadvantages

Facial cleansing at home has both advantages and disadvantages.

Benefits – most procedures:

  • simple, gentle, inexpensive, non-traumatic;
  • effectively combine cleansing, rejuvenation, nutrition, and hydration;
  • available at a convenient time in familiar conditions.

The use of natural components (coffee, oatmeal) eliminates allergies. The device is a more expensive pleasure, but once you pay money, you can use it for a long time.

Disadvantages: if the rules are not followed or if there are contraindications, skin injury or other undesirable consequences are possible.

Indications for the procedure

Indications for facial cleansing at home:

  • intradermal contamination of varying intensity;
  • excessive sebum secretion;
  • enlarged pores;
  • minor defects (acne marks, scars, mild inflammation);
  • decrease in the tone of the superficial layer of the dermis.

The frequency of procedures depends on the cleaning method, skin type, and other factors. Dry skin is recommended to be cleaned once a month, oily skin – twice. In summer, cleaning is required more often than in winter.

Preparation

Facial cleansing at home requires strict adherence to hygiene rules:

  • skin and hands should be as clean as possible;
  • manipulations are contraindicated in the presence of acne, inflammation and other symptoms.

Cleansing by any method begins with preparation – cleansing the skin with gel or milk and scrub. It is done in the following way: apply the scrub to the face, massage for several minutes and wash off with water. The scrub should be gentle so as not to injure the skin. Dry skin requires special delicacy. Intensive massaging and larger particles are recommended for oily skin. The most accessible home scrub is ground coffee with yogurt or sour cream.

Technique facials

The technique of facial cleansing at home is quite simple and does not require special tools. If you maintain hygiene and perform all manipulations correctly, then a positive result is guaranteed.

  • The skin prepared with the scrub is first steamed over hot water, preferably with the addition of medicinal infusions. For dry and problematic skin, wormwood, yarrow, rosemary are recommended, for oily skin - chamomile, horsetail, mint.

A steam bath is prepared as follows: a pot of boiling water is placed on the table and the head is tilted over it, covered with a terry towel (so that the steam does not cool down). After 15 minutes, the skin is ready for cleaning.

The pores are cleaned with disinfected fingers (not nails!), pressing on each comedone from both sides. You can wrap your fingers with a bandage. Well-opened pores are easily cleaned of their contents. Periodically, the face is wiped with hydrogen peroxide.

The procedure is finished by wiping with a tonic containing alcohol. This narrows the pores. And the final touch is moisturizing the skin dried out by the previous procedures with a regular moisturizing cream.

Stages of facial cleansing at home

High-quality facial cleansing at home is possible if the skin is problem-free. If you are prone to blockages, rashes, irritations, it is better to visit a beauty salon and trust the professionals.

When cleaning your face yourself, it is important to follow the sequence. To do this, experts recommend performing seven stages of facial cleansing at home.

  • Cleansing

Removal of dirt, grease, and makeup residue is done with a sponge: with milk for dry skin, and with gel for oily skin. Then wipe the skin with a toner.

  • Steaming

The skin is steamed over a pot of boiling water, being careful not to burn yourself. (Professionals call this procedure "vaporization" and use a special device or means for "cold steaming"). A 15-minute exposure to steam opens the pores perfectly and facilitates the easy removal of fat plugs. It is useful to add succession and chamomile to the boiling water (one and a half to two spoons of dry raw materials per liter of water).

  • Deep cleansing

It is carried out with a scrub or peeling, depending on the skin type. After applying the product, the skin is gently massaged and washed off with warm water.

  • Removal of comedones

Press on the comedones with clean hands treated with alcohol – carefully but gently.

  • Disinfection

Even gentle manual squeezing injures the skin. To prevent infection with pathogenic microflora, the face is treated with hydrogen peroxide or calendula tincture.

  • Closing pores

It is done by applying a mask. White clay is suitable for home use.

  • Skin soothing

The effect is achieved by applying a moisturizing mask suitable for a specific skin type.

Ultrasonic facial cleansing at home

Ultrasonic facial cleansing at home with a scrubber is much more effective than previous methods. The principle of action: microvibration from ultrasound spreads to the surface layer, providing a complex effect on the skin:

  • expands pores;
  • removes dead epidermis;
  • removes comedones without pressure;
  • stimulates blood and lymph circulation;
  • improves skin tone;
  • increases the antiseptic property.

The cleaning is done in stages. There is no need to steam the skin: it is cleaned with cosmetic substances (milk, gel), wiping with a sponge and washing off the remains (with a warm compress or water). Next, toning is done, that is, again wiping with a cotton swab soaked in toner.

Immediately before the procedure, the skin is sprayed with mineral water or a gel is applied to conduct ultrasound waves. The final stage is the application of a restorative cream. The cream is selected depending on the skin type, although the actual ultrasound cleaning can be done on any skin and in any season, since it does not provoke sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. The procedure takes up to 15 minutes.

Cleaning should be done regularly, at individual intervals. The great advantage of this method of facial cleaning at home is that there is no redness or other consequences after it.

UV peeling is often referred to as a weekend procedure; it helps to quickly tidy up your face before an important meeting or other event.

Vacuum facial cleansing at home

The device for vacuum facial cleaning looks like a tube with a nozzle, the principle of its operation is reverse air circulation, which ensures the skin is drawn into the device. That is, the skin is not subjected to pressure, but to attraction to the device. Due to the drawing in, active cleansing of pores, high-quality superficial cleaning of healthy skin, as well as lymphatic drainage massage occur.

Before buying a device for vacuum facial cleaning at home, make sure you have no contraindications. These include:

  • thin skin prone to bruising;
  • inflammation of the dermis and rashes;
  • deep comedones;
  • chronic diseases in the acute stage.

Facial cleaning at home with a vacuum device lasts about an hour and a half. Before the procedure, the skin is steamed to open the pores. The device is moved along the face along circular axes, providing a soft, minimally invasive, painless manipulation.

The positive effect is noted immediately and lasts for at least a month. In addition to eliminating calluses and plugs, vacuum procedures stimulate microcirculation, normalize sebaceous and sweat glands, narrow pores, increase elasticity, even out the structure, refresh and moisturize the skin.

Steam facial cleansing at home

Before steam cleaning your face at home, wash your skin with gel or cosmetic milk, then apply a scrub, massage for a few minutes, and then rinse. The water should be warm, you can make your own scrub or buy a ready-made one. It is important that the grains of the product are small and gentle.

For effective steaming, hold your face over boiled water for 10-15 minutes. Cover your tilted head with a terry towel. The effect of this method of facial cleansing at home is enhanced by adding medicinal herbs (mint, chamomile) to the boiling water.

Steamed skin is wiped with hydrogen peroxide, hands - with some alcohol tincture. Press with fingertips, not nails, so as not to injure the skin. To prevent infections, index fingers can be wrapped with a bandage. Do not squeeze out unripe blackheads: it is better to leave them for next time.

During the procedure, the face is wiped several times with hydrogen peroxide. After the manipulations are completed, the pores must be narrowed with a tonic with alcohol, and then the skin must be moisturized with cream. Steam facial cleansing at home is done once every two months.

Galvanic facial cleansing at home

Galvanic facial cleansing is a relatively new, but increasingly popular salon procedure. It is especially suitable for oily skin with an abundance of blackheads and acne.

It is also possible to perform galvanic facial cleansing at home. To do this, purchase a galvanic device and a special gel (it can be replaced with a soda solution). The device is used after washing and cleansing the face; the manipulations are completed with a nourishing and moisturizing mask.

The point is that a weak current, passing through sweat and sebaceous ducts, causes a reaction of their contents with the gel used for the procedure. A soap solution is formed, which carries out all the dirt. Such facial cleansing at home is carried out no more than twice a month.

Contraindications:

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • oncopathologies;
  • dry skin;
  • inflammation on the face;
  • presence of cardiovascular problems;
  • metal implants in the head and neck area.

You should also pay attention to subsequent care: during the first 24 hours, you should not apply cosmetics to your face, in particular, foundation.

Hollywood Facial at Home

Hollywood facial cleansing at home has a simpler name: rolling. It is used for oily and combination skin; such procedures are contraindicated for dry and inflammation-prone skin.

  • The rolling is done with calcium chloride (5-10% solution) from an ampoule and baby soap. We wipe the skin along the massage lines with a moistened sponge, after absorption we repeat the procedure - and so on up to eight times. The skin should feel a slight tingling; if there is a burning sensation, the substance should be washed off immediately.

After the last layer dries, rub the soap in with slightly soaped fingers along the same lines until “pellets” form. If necessary, moisturize and soap your fingers; stop when the skin starts to “squeak.” Finally, wash your face thoroughly.

The mechanism of action of this method of facial cleansing at home consists of the chemical interaction of soap and calcium chloride. As a result, potassium and sodium chloride are formed plus an insoluble salt of Ca, which, when "rolling", removes dead cells of the epidermis.

Provides gentle superficial peeling. However, to prevent redness and dryness, after cleansing apply a moisturizing and nourishing mask to the face.

Homemade Facial Cleansing Recipes

There are many ingredients and masks for facial cleansing at home. We offer several recipes.

  1. Mix coffee grounds with yogurt or sour cream (a spoonful each). Apply the mixture to your face, massage for a minute or two, and rinse with water. You can use fresh coffee or coffee grounds that have been prepared for future use, dried well and stored in a dry jar.
  2. Oatmeal mask: steam a spoonful of oatmeal with boiling water, apply the gruel to your face, massage for a few minutes and rinse with warm water. The mask effectively cleans pores, removes dead skin cells and fat, and refreshes the skin. You can grind the oatmeal in a coffee grinder. For dry and normal skin, it is useful to replace water with milk; for oily skin, add a few drops of lemon juice.
  3. Orange scrub is made from orange peel and semolina: grated peel is mixed with a tablespoon of semolina (can be replaced with starch or flour). For dry skin, dilute with milk, for oily skin - with orange juice.
  4. Starch recipe for facial cleansing at home: pour a handful of starch (or flour) onto a piece of gauze, make a ball and moisten it with water. Massage the face with a wet ball. For dry skin, add vegetable oil, which softens the skin and relieves irritation.

Honey facial cleansing at home

Honey tones, moisturizes, and strengthens the skin, which is why it has long been used in cosmetology, including for facial cleansing at home.

How to cleanse your face with honey at home? We offer two recipes: with honey itself and a honey mask mixed with other ingredients.

For the first method of cleaning, liquid honey is applied in a thin layer along the massage lines and lightly rubbed in with circular movements. It is better to protect the area around the eyes from accidental contact with a nourishing cream beforehand. When the honey "dries", that is, thickens, it is removed with a damp cloth. Along with the remains of the substance, dirt, dead epidermis and all unnecessary things that prevent the skin from breathing and absorbing useful components are removed. The first procedure already has an excellent effect on the condition of the face.

  • A honey mask is prepared as follows: vegetable oil (50 g), white clay, flower pollen crushed in a mortar and honey are mixed and infused for an hour. Apply to the face, wash off after 10 minutes. It is recommended to repeat the procedure weekly. The mask cleanses, smoothes and tightens the skin.

Facial cleansing with calcium chloride at home

Facial cleaning with calcium chloride at home is carried out almost the same way as in beauty salons. In addition to calcium chloride, baby soap or soap foam is used. The cleaning is based on a chemical reaction: soap as an alkali interacts with a solution of calcium chloride, as a result of which a precipitate of calcium salts of carboxylic acids and table salt is formed.

  • Calcium chloride (pharmaceutical product) is applied with a sponge to the face along massage lines, in small quantities, avoiding the area around the eyes and the upper lip. After drying, the manipulation is repeated 4-8 times.
  • Next, treat with soap: rub with your fingers or a sponge until pellets form (this is the salt sediment) and a “squeak” sound is heard.
  • The final stage is rinsing off the reagents with warm water and moisturizing the treated areas.

The advantages of this method are availability and efficiency. The disadvantages are the possibility of necrotic damage in the presence of wounds and other defects on the skin.

Chemical facial cleansing at home is contraindicated for people with thin skin, hypersensitivity to chemicals, allergy sufferers, pregnant and lactating women.

Aspirin facial cleansing at home

Using aspirin to cleanse your face at home has a number of benefits:

  • the procedure is effective for severe skin problems;
  • additional ingredients make it possible to clean any skin;
  • periodic procedures keep the skin clean, smooth and fresh;
  • the risk of inflammation decreases, resistance increases;
  • the procedure requires minimal investment of time and money.

It is prohibited to cleanse your face with aspirin, at home or in a salon, during pregnancy and lactation, if you are prone to allergies, have individual intolerances, have infectious diseases or damage to the skin.

To prepare the cleaning agent, use a powder obtained from aspirin tablets (acetylsalicylic acid). In recipes for oily and problematic skin, add lotion, lemon juice, white clay and water, yogurt; for dry, normal or sensitive skin - oatmeal, jojoba oil, honey, olive oil. It is important to select substances according to skin type, so as not to get unwanted consequences.

Use only regular tablets, without a shell or additives. If you are prone to allergies, a test on the elbow is recommended.

Facial cleansing with acids at home

Acid facial cleansing is a fruit peeling. The remedy is old and effective; it is used to remove the horny layer and prevent premature aging. Acid facial cleansing at home is suitable for both dry and oily skin.

Fruit acids normalize the activity and composition of sweat gland secretion, cleanse the ducts from ballast, eliminating the basis for inflammation and rashes. Skin cleansed in this way better absorbs useful components, is renewed, gets rid of pigment defects. Fruit cleansing is recommended for fine wrinkles, pigment spots, enlarged pores, stretch marks, acne, comedones.

Salons use a peeling cocktail - a mixture of acids, sometimes with the addition of other components (vitamins A, E, hyaluronic acid). Each subsequent procedure involves increasing the concentration of active substances and reducing the duration of the application. The cosmetologist controls the process to prevent burns.

For facial cleansing at home, the following acids of 20-25% concentration are used:

  • apple,
  • dairy,
  • lemon,
  • wine,
  • glycolic.

You can use both ready-made mixtures and those prepared at home, for example, sour cream or sour milk combined with ground bran or oatmeal. With regular use, the effect will meet expectations.

Manipulations with acids are contraindicated for all types of inflammation and damage to the skin, infectious and allergic diseases. Like other types of chemical peeling, fruit peeling is best done during periods of inactive sun to avoid the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation.

Facial cleansing at home with activated charcoal

Activated carbon is a product of burning various types of wood. In addition to medicinal properties, it also has cosmetic properties. Facial cleansing at home with activated carbon is based on these beneficial qualities.

The charcoal mask is effective for skin at any age. After the procedure, the skin becomes less oily and smoother, comedones and inflammation spots disappear, and the pores are deeply cleansed of dirt.

Depending on the specific purposes, the following are added to activated carbon:

  • cosmetic clay;
  • gelatin and milk;
  • yogurt;
  • rose water;
  • aloe juice, tea tree oil and sea salt.

The classic charcoal mask is a mixture of crushed black tablets (2 pcs.) with filtered water. Apply after a hot bath. The mask treats inflammation, dries, normalizes sebaceous glands, and deeply cleanses the skin. The course of application is one and a half months (the mask is done every 6 days). The next course of facial cleansing at home begins in two months.

Facial cleansing with salt at home

Especially popular among women is facial cleansing with salt at home, which can be done every week or more often. Soda is added to the mask-scrub in equal proportions with salt.

The diluted soda-salt mixture is applied to the face, lubricated with milk or gel for washing until foam forms. After two minutes of light massage, especially in the area of accumulation of blackheads, leave for several minutes, then wash off. Tingling of the skin during the procedure indicates the effective interaction of soda with the skin. Then the face is wiped with a toner.

Regular soda-salt facial cleansing at home removes blackheads, makes the skin clean, matte and well-groomed.

Coffee Grounds Facial Cleansing at Home

A coffee mask perfectly cleanses, tones and nourishes the skin. Due to the presence of caffeine, carotenoids and antioxidants, the face becomes cleaner, younger and fresher. Coffee grounds facial cleansing at home is recommended for mature, aging and wrinkled skin of any type. This method of facial cleansing at home is not recommended for certain problems:

  • allergies,
  • skin and blood diseases,
  • very delicate and vulnerable skin.

Both ground coffee and used coffee grounds are used for cleaning. But there is a nuance: thermally treated grounds have a more gentle abrasive effect than ground coffee; it requires careful handling so as not to injure the epithelium with hard particles.

  • Apply the coffee mask to a steamed face (or neck, décolleté, elbows, knees, feet), massage for a minute or two, wash off with settled or still water, chamomile or calendula tincture. The procedure is performed 1–2 times a week.

To enhance the effect, you can add sea salt, sugar, sour cream, butter or honey to the coffee.

Facial cleansing with salicylic acid at home

For oily and problematic skin, facial cleansing with salicylic acid is recommended - it is quite an affordable procedure at home. When choosing a product, it is important to pay attention to the concentration of the active component and the presence of additional substances. The most popular are 15- and 30-% salicylic masks. It is good if the composition includes fruit acid, as well as lactic acid - to even out the color.

In order for salicylic acid to cleanse pores and not surface dirt, the skin must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before cleaning the face at home. Apply the finished mask and keep it on according to the instructions.

  • It is easy to make a salicylic mask yourself, for example, from a pharmacy tablet and honey. Dissolve the tablet in water, add a little soda and half a teaspoon of honey. Mix, apply to problem areas, wash off after five minutes.

Redness after the procedure is normal and will soon pass. The product should not be used if there are rashes, inflammations, or individual intolerance to certain ingredients.

Clay facial cleansing at home

For facial cleansing at home, cosmetic clays of different colors are used:

  • white,
  • black,
  • pink,
  • green,
  • red,
  • blue.

Black is universal, masks made from it are suitable for any skin. Cosmetic properties consist of "pulling out" toxins and dirt from deep layers. At first, face cleaning with clay at home can provoke redness and rashes, which, however, disappear after several procedures.

The clay is diluted with warm water to a creamy consistency, applied for 10 minutes and washed off. It is useful to use chamomile flowers (they are pre-steamed).

Masks can be combined with a gentle massage: slightly dried clay is rubbed with wet fingers, as a result of which it rolls, absorbing dirt and dead cells. The remaining clay is washed off with water.

Oil facial cleansing at home

For facial cleansing with oil at home, vegetable oils and their combinations are used. They contain fatty acids that are not formed in the body, but are essential for beautiful skin.

Oil cleansing is a universal, affordable and safe way to cleanse your face at home: it is suitable for everyone, gently removes makeup, and perfectly nourishes and moisturizes. The disadvantages include the length and labor intensity of the process, the cost of napkins and towels, which quickly deteriorate from oil.

Castor oil is a universal base for the cleansing mixture. It is suitable for procedures in its pure form. The choice of other oils depends on the type and condition of the skin:

  • for oily and problematic skin, flaxseed, almond, and jojoba are suitable;
  • for fading - peach, grape, wheat germ;
  • for dry skin – cocoa butter, walnut, grape seed, wheat germ.

For very dry skin, it is useful to use olive oil as a base.

Apply room temperature oil to a slightly steamed face (wet with warm water), rub with palms for two minutes and leave for another half minute. Wipe off gradually - with flannel, soaking in hot water (40 degrees) as it cools. Oil facial cleansing at home is effective when used twice a week.

Facial cleansing with bodyaga at home

The sponge acts as a strong exfoliant, vasodilator and wrinkle smoothing agent. Therefore, for skin prone to irritation, facial cleansing with sponge at home is not recommended.

The gruel is prepared from bodyagi powder and hydrogen peroxide (3% solution), applied in a thin layer for 15 minutes. The resulting burning must be endured, as well as the subsequent redness. This is a natural reaction to the manipulation. The rush of blood disappears after a while, and along with the remains of the mask, keratinization and impurities are removed. Next, you need to apply a moisturizer.

There is also a gel for facial cleansing at home based on bodyagi. It has a very delicate effect and does not require mixing with other ingredients.

Homemade facial scrub

The advantages of homemade scrubs are simplicity and ease of preparation, natural ingredients. You can choose the composition taking into account the individuality of your skin.

When using a scrub to cleanse your face at home, you must first prepare your skin: cleanse it with special cosmetics and steam it. After applying the scrub, massage your face and then wash off the remaining product, along with fat and dead skin. Finally, apply a nourishing cream.

For a home scrub, use substances with an abrasive effect:

  • sugar,
  • salt,
  • soda,
  • sea salt,
  • coffee,
  • honey,
  • cereals,
  • oatmeal,
  • fruits (apple, avocado, orange).

At first glance, the sugar and salt particles appear large and spiky, but in the process they quickly become rounded and softer.

For dry skin, it is useful to add vegetable oil and moisturizer to sugar. Oily skin feels good if you add milk and oatmeal to granulated sugar, and a few drops of lemon juice give the scrub whitening properties.

The original recipe is to add cocoa powder: this scrub makes your face look fresh.

One of the best home remedies is a coffee scrub, combined with honey, yogurt, sour cream, shower gel. It is especially effective for oily and combination skin.

The most popular cereal scrubs are: rice and buckwheat – for normal and oily skin; rolled oats and bran – for dry skin. The cereals need to be ground and mixed: in the first case – with honey, in the second – with orange or almond oil.

The most gentle is a homemade scrub made from flour or starch. Suitable even for very sensitive skin, especially with the addition of vegetable oil.

Apple pulp is also used as a scrub: the cut and seeded half of the fruit is massaged into the face until the pulp is rubbed off. The active component is malic acid, which removes dead cells, cleanses pores, and removes toxins.

Home facial cleansing with avocado is becoming increasingly popular: the fruit with the peel is grated to obtain a ready-made exfoliating paste.

Sugar facial cleansing at home

The cosmetic properties of sweet sand are due to the presence of monosaccharides, tensins, glycolic acid, which:

  • stimulate the protective layer;
  • restore individual fibers;
  • activate the production of collagen and elastin;
  • retain moisture;
  • normalize the sebaceous glands.

And they even create a tanning effect!

For sugar facial cleansing at home, use only fine sand. The course is 10 procedures, they can be continued after a two-week break. Owners of oily faces need two cleansings a week, for others, one procedure is enough.

The necessary ingredients are added to the recipes, depending on the type and condition of the skin. Eggnog is ideal for all occasions for facial cleansing at home, and additional ingredients are determined by the condition of the skin:

  • yolk with a spoonful of sugar is good for dry skin;
  • protein - fat;
  • A whole egg with two spoons of sand is used for normal skin.

To improve the color, use cottage cheese with sugar and honey (pororvnu).

Banana puree with sugar and melted butter refreshes dry skin, and if you replace honey with whipped egg white, you get an excellent remedy for oily skin.

Hardware facial cleansing at home

Regular care and cleaning of the face at home eliminates the need to visit expensive salons. Special devices are produced for hardware cleaning of the face at home: electric brushes, vacuum and ultrasonic devices.

  1. The electric brush cleans with nylon bristles with round polished tips. They differ in volume, hardness, and length. The models of the device have several operating speeds and modes that can be alternated for daily use. The brush with a waterproof body can also be used in the shower. The brush removes blackheads and oily shine, and with regular use ensures renewal of the epithelial layer.

Popular models of electric toothbrushes: Clarisonic Mia 2, Philips VisaPure, Mary Kay Skinvigorate.

  1. The vacuum cleaning device helps to get rid of acne and pimples, scars and cellulite. The device provides several effects:
  • removes comedones and calluses;
  • rids the epithelium of waste and toxins;
  • cleans sebaceous ducts;
  • stimulates skin respiration;
  • relieves swelling and pigmentation;
  • evens out skin texture and tone.

Brands: Gezatone Super Wet Cleaner, Panasonic EN2513.

  1. Ultrasonic hardware procedure "knocks out" the excess from the skin due to the resonance effect. For home procedures, a device with a frequency of 25 kHz is used, which does not injure the skin; more powerful devices are intended only for professional use.

The useful effect of the device is that ultrasound warms up the skin, as a result of which the pores expand and are better cleaned. The procedure provides a massaging effect: improves blood and lymph circulation, increases tone, stimulates the formation of elastin and collagen. Blackheads disappear from the face, it becomes younger and fresher.

Ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women, people with cancer, nervous disorders, hypertension, skin diseases, or those with a pacemaker.

Professional facial cleansing at home

Cleansing frees pores from plugs, allows the skin to breathe, absorb moisture, and respond positively to care and cosmetic procedures.

Facial cleansing at home begins with the preparation of tools, preparations and materials. You will need: hairpins, napkins and sponges, milk and gel, hot water, two towels, a bandage and a gauze mask with slits, a scrub, herbal infusion and ice from it.

Professional facial cleansing at home is performed in four stages.

  1. 1. Cleansing

The face and hands are washed with water and soap, the hair is secured with a hair clip, makeup is removed with milk and the face is washed again with gel.

  1. Compress (steam bath)

This method achieves opening of pores. In the first case, a gauze mask, abundantly moistened with hot herbal tea, is applied to the face for 8 minutes. A steam bath is taken over hot water with the addition of herbs. Duration: for oily skin - 10 minutes, combination - 7, normal - 5-6, dry skin - 3-4 minutes.

  1. Cleaning

Cleaning is the manual squeezing of blackheads. It is done by pressing with fingers wrapped in a bandage, starting from the forehead to the chin. The effect is enhanced by a scrub, which is used to massage the face and then washed off with water.

  1. Closing pores

After washing with cool water, close the pores with ice cubes made from herbal infusions: for dry skin - from calendula, lavender, lemon balm; for oily skin - from oak bark, mint, linden, chamomile.

Mask after facial cleansing at home

After facial cleansing at home, the skin becomes soft, clean, and radiant. It is better to perform the procedures at night or on weekends, so that the inevitable redness does not spoil your mood in the morning. This phenomenon is short-term and will definitely pass if the cleansing was done according to the rules. And systematic manipulations will not only get rid of problems, but also prevent the formation of new ones.

After the procedure, the skin needs to be soothed and protected from peeling. Cosmetologists recommend a honey mask after cleansing the face at home.

  • Heat a mixture of honey and olive oil (equal parts) in a water bath and apply to the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse with water or remove with a sponge.

Contraindications to the procedure

Contraindications for facial cleansing at home:

  • exacerbation of skin inflammation;
  • the presence of foci of infection with infiltrate;
  • deep acne and pimples, dermatoses;
  • dry, thinned skin.

For some cardiovascular diseases, a steam bath is not recommended and is replaced with a compress.

Caution is required in case of serious skin problems, tonsillitis, sinusitis, colds, allergies, asthma, during menstruation and pregnancy.

If there are wounds or inflamed acne, you should first treat them by moistening them with lotion or milk, and only then clean them. This will help prevent the formation of new inflammation sites.

Consequences after the procedure

Undesirable consequences arise when the facial cleansing technique at home is violated, contraindications are ignored, hypersensitivity. Minor consequences (hyperemia, peeling, slight swelling, burning) usually go away on their own. In case of complications, special care is required, sometimes – contacting a cosmetologist.

Complications after the procedure

The most common complications are microtraumas, allergies, swelling, hematomas, scars, which need to be treated.

Persistent hyperemia is relieved with soothing masks, cold compresses (chamomile, calendula), and pharmacy ointments (Belanten).

Prolonged swelling may be a consequence of allergies or a symptom of a disease. Diuretics will help get rid of them.

Hematomas are treated with heparin ointment, horse chestnut and arnica lotions.

Inflammation occurs when cleanliness is not maintained during cleaning. To eliminate foci, it is necessary to use disinfectants, but it is better for them to be prescribed by a specialist. The same applies to allergies, scars, and other complications.

Care after the procedure

The rehabilitation period after facial cleansing at home lasts from several hours to several days. The natural protective layer is restored within three days.

To speed up the process, use skin care cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Little secrets will also help:

  • avoid temperature changes;
  • moisturize your skin as much as possible;
  • do not use foundation, or at least powder;
  • drink more clean water;
  • Give up alcohol.

It is convenient to do facial cleansing at home in the evening. After the procedure, redness, tightness, and discomfort may appear. If the manipulations are carried out according to the rules, then the unpleasant sensations disappear overnight, the skin becomes refreshed and rested. In the first hours, you cannot do makeup, wash with ordinary water, so as not to contaminate and infect the enlarged pores.

If the pores remain enlarged, it is necessary to use a special toner and lotion with alcohol, calendula or other useful plants. However, alcohol-free products with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties are also suitable.

Experts advise applying gels and foams during the first days after cleaning, without rubbing, so as not to injure the dermis once again. Further care consists of using a moisturizing cream and protection from sunlight.

If minor damage is discovered the next morning, apply iodine to the affected area to prevent acne.

It is not advisable to do fitness for several days, avoiding heavy loads and profuse sweating, as it slows down the process of cell renewal.

Ideally, gentle facial cleansing at home should be done daily, once a week - more deeply, once every six months - with ultrasound, to carefully remove all impurities and stimulate blood circulation. In case of acne, acne and other problems, the procedure should be performed by a cosmetologist. He will also give valuable advice on care and recommend products suitable for your skin.
