Brushing, or mechanical peeling, is the cleansing or exfoliation of the superficial horny layer of the skin of the face and body using various rotating attachments.

The attachments used are pumice, sponges, brushes of varying hardness and diameter, which rotate at different speeds. Brushing helps remove and exfoliate the cells of the surface layer of the skin, smooth out skin irregularities, remove sebaceous sweat gland products, and makeup residues. It is carried out after vaporization or as an independent procedure, and can precede desincrustation.

Brushes can differ in the following parameters:

  1. size (large - for working on the body, medium - on the face, etc.);
  2. bristle stiffness;
  3. origin of bristles (natural, artificial).

Methodology of performing brossage

The procedure is carried out clockwise on the right side and counterclockwise on the left side (so that the facial tissues do not move down when the brushes rotate). The movement is carried out along the massage lines, slowly, smoothly, without pressing on the brush, for 5-7 minutes. Brushing is carried out on a cosmetic product, depending on the skin type: cosmetic milk - any skin type, gommage - thin, dry skin, scrub - thick, oily, porous skin.

Prescribed once every 7-10 days.

The purpose of the method is to cleanse the skin and prepare it for the main stage of the procedure.

Indications for brossage:

  • oily, porous skin with wide openings of sebaceous ducts;
  • combination skin with comedones.

Alternative methods:

  • vacuum peeling;
  • ultrasonic peeling.
