Normally, sugar in pregnant women who donate blood on an empty stomach is between 4.0 and 5.2 millimoles / liter. After eating, the figure may increase to 6.7. The average values of the norm are from 3.3 to 6.6. The increase is explained by the fact that the woman's pancreas can not always cope with the stresses.
At a certain time, pregnant women, who are under the control of women's consultations, are subjected to sugar tests. The increase in insulin, first detected during pregnancy, indicates the presence of the so-called gestational form of diabetes mellitus.
Future mothers who are at risk should carefully monitor the diet and avoid harmful products. It is recommended to purchase a personal device for determining glucose (do an analysis on an empty stomach) and eat every three hours. In this case, completely eliminate the foods that increase blood sugar in pregnancy.

And even if the baby was safely born, then, unfortunately, it can have problems: congenital resistance to insulin and a carbohydrate metabolism failure. Therefore, it is very important to combine dishes so that both the mother and the child are happy, that is, they receive a full set of necessary components.
Restrictions on the use of products that raise blood sugar, concern people who have health problems. Even with minor deviations, the diet should be reviewed and examined by a specialist. In case of disease, the diet becomes a way of life, and in the absence of indications, it is enough to observe a healthy diet, especially not stressing various restrictions.
