Inflammation of the pancreas or pancreatitis is a disease accompanied by periodic exacerbations, which are provoked by inappropriate nutrition in such a diagnosis. The function of this organ is to produce enzymes necessary for the processing of food in the duodenum. With pancreatitis, they do not go there, but are activated in the gland itself, damaging its own tissues. Manifestations of pathology are very painful and unpleasant, so it is best for the patient to know the effect of various products on the state of the pancreas.

Recommended foods for pancreatitis

Patient with pancreatitis should be guided by therapeutic diet № 5, which prescribes a dietary method of cooking, thermal and chemical sparing of the organ, fractional but frequent meals, exclusion of spicy, sour, smoked, fried, alcohol - products that stimulate the synthesis of pancreatic juice.

So what foods are useful in pancreatitis and what can be eaten? The list of the most necessary can be the following:

  • Baked goods - not ideally fresh wheat bread (yesterday's baked bread is better), self-made breadcrumbs made from it;
  • meat products - chicken, rabbit, veal, turkey (boiled);
  • fish - low-fat varieties (pike-perch, pike, cod, hake, pollock, saithe), steamed or boiled;
  • Eggs - 1-2 per week (steamed omelet);
  • cereals - buckwheat, rice, oatmeal, perlovka, semolina;
  • sour milk and dairy - low-fat cottage cheese, kefir, ryazhenka, yogurt without fillers and flavorings, milk only for adding to food;
  • vegetables - carrots, beets, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini;
  • fats - vegetable fats and butter (add to cooked dishes);
  • fruits - bananas, baked lean apples, pears;
  • drinks - compote of dried fruits, rosehip decoction, weak tea;
  • first courses - cooked on secondary meat broth.

Prohibited and harmful foods in pancreatitis

Unhealthy foods that can be harmful in pancreatitis include:

  • fatty meats and fish;
  • ducks and geese;
  • sausage;
  • whole milk;
  • fresh rye bread;
  • mushrooms;
  • millet groats;
  • legumes;

Foods for acute pancreatitis

Acute pancreatitis causes very painful attacks in the upper abdomen, often shingles, nausea, vomiting, severe weakness, stools with undigested food remains. This is a life-threatening condition, it requires immediate response and starvation for the first two days, cold on the pancreatic area, rest.

From the third day, a limited menu of foods is introduced:

  • pureed boiled vegetables;
  • slimy soups;
  • steamed egg white omelet;
  • casseroles;
  • baked apples, pears.

All dishes should be eaten in a warm state, eat small portions at once, eating 5-6 times a day. This scheme is kept for 5-7 days, and then switch to diet No. 5.

Foods for chronic pancreatitis

Chronic pancreatitis does not require such a strict diet and, nevertheless, it is necessary to develop in yourself certain rules regarding nutrition and make them your way of life, because from healthy products you can also create real culinary masterpieces. The main thing is to limit carbohydrates and fats.

For the hostess in the kitchen, it is even easier not to guard the foam near the pot to collect it, but to drain the first broth. Boiled meat is used as a second course, vegetables are more convenient, tastier and faster to bake than to fry in a frying pan.

You need to give up sour, unripe vegetables and fruits, because in fact ripe ones are much tastier.

Foods for pancreatitis and cholecystitis

Cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder) and pancreatitis are inextricably linked, because the organs affected by the pathological process are located next to each other, and their functions are similar - entering the duodenum and processing food.

In many ways, nutrition in these diagnoses is not inconsistent: restrictions on fatty foods, dietary cooking, avoidance of foods that cause stimulation of food enzymes and bile, fractional.

In case of divergence of "interests" it is necessary to exclude a product or a dish unsuitable for the other organ. An example could be legumes - good for the bile gland, bad for the gland, or even low-fat ice cream - the pancreas does not like cold.

Foods for exacerbation of pancreatitis

Periods with more subtle manifestations of pancreatic disease, periodically alternate with exacerbations provoked by errors in diet. At this time should move to a stricter diet, grind food, monitor its temperature, give preference to boiled and baked vegetables, 30-90 minutes before eating drink mineral water heated without gas (Narzan, Essentuki № 4, 17). Eat small portions, but often. In general, be guided by the recommendations regarding acute pancreatitis.

Foods for pancreatitis and gastritis

Gastritis is the common name for inflammatory-dystrophic changes in the gastric mucosa. There are various classifications of this pathology, including depending on acidity, localization, duration of course and other factors. Most often the companion of pancreatitis is chronic gastritis with increased acidity (hyperacid).

The task of nutrition in one and the other case is not to provoke excessive secretion of pancreatic and gastric juice. In many respects, nutrition coincides, but there are also some contradictions. So, with this form of gastritis it is useful to drink fatty milk, but fermented milk products are undesirable. With inflammation of the pancreas, everything is the opposite and here a compromise is important.

Protein foods in pancreatitis

Preference in pancreatitis should be given to protein products, but food with coarse fiber - evil for the organ. Therefore, vegetable protein should be soft structure, it is desirable to remove the skin from the allowed fruits and vegetables, consume them in a heat-treated form. Animal protein is obtained from dietary varieties of meat.

Products that provoke pancreatitis (cabbage, radish, tomatoes in large quantities, grapes, pomegranate, from meat products pork, fatty beef) should be excluded even in the period of stable remission.
