Complex therapy for duodenitis necessarily includes therapeutic nutrition. Diet for duodenitis requires adherence to certain rules, especially in the acute period.

During a crisis, it is recommended to reduce foods high in carbohydrates and increase protein intake.

It is recommended to eat, as with other gastrointestinal diseases, often and in small portions (at least 4 times a day).

The basis of therapeutic nutrition is a strict restriction of products that irritate the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum.

It is recommended to drink fruit juices (especially orange), eat pureed soups with vegetables and various cereals, ground boiled meat, fish, dairy products, soft-boiled eggs, boiled vegetables and fruits.

With duodenitis, you need to limit honey, sweets, sugar and salt.

For this disease, it is best to replace tea with infusions of medicinal herbs.

Strict restrictions in food should be at least a month, then raw vegetables and fruits, sausages, cereals, vegetable salads are gradually added to the diet.

With duodenitis, it is important to avoid such foods as smoked foods, canned foods, hot spices (mustard, horseradish, pepper, etc.), coffee, garlic, onions, fatty fish or meat, strong tea, alcohol, and you should also eat food only when warm.

Following a therapeutic diet promotes a speedy recovery, reduction of pain and indigestion.

Diet for duodenitis and gastritis

Duodenitis and gastritis are quite serious diseases, for which diet is one of the main methods of treatment.

When such diseases are combined, it is necessary to eat frequently (little and often) – every 3-4 hours.

The basis of the diet is porridge (mostly rice and oatmeal). To prepare it, you need to take water and milk (in equal quantities), and boil the cereal well.

Vegetables should be present in the diet only in pureed form, from dairy products - yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and dishes made from it.

During an exacerbation, it is better to replace bread with crackers; several times a week you can eat a hard-boiled egg or an omelet (in the oven); during this period, poultry should be excluded.

For lunch you can eat light soup and vegetable salad.

It is useful to drink compote made from apples, pears, and dried fruits for gastritis and duodenitis.

Sweets allowed include pastila, marshmallows, marmalade (but only without dyes), and toffee.

It is best to cook food using steam; this method of processing food will not provoke an exacerbation of diseases.

Following a diet will help the gastric mucosa to recover, and to prevent the disease from returning, it is recommended to continue following this diet in the future.

Diet for chronic duodenitis

A therapeutic diet for chronic inflammation of the duodenum helps to heal ulcers and erosions and reduces inflammation.

In general, the diet for duodenitis provides a gentle diet for the entire digestive system.

The energy value of food is reduced mainly due to carbohydrates; products containing vitamins B, A, C, PP and minerals are also necessary.

During an exacerbation, foods that promote the production of gastric juice and irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa (spicy, sour foods, etc.) are excluded from the diet.

In case of duodenitis, it is best to eat pureed food at room temperature, steamed or boiled. Food should be liquid (semi-liquid), meals should be fractional (6-7 times in small portions).
