Tricomin, a copper-peptide complex for topical use, was tested in 18 men with type V (according to J. Hamilton) of common baldness. Twice a day for 6 months, 2% and 10% gel were applied to the bald areas. Patients who used 10% gel with tricomin showed more active hair growth. The mechanism of action of the drug has not been fully deciphered, side effects were not observed. It was suggested that copper stimulates the synthesis of extracellular matrix components, thereby contributing to the prolongation of the growth phase. As is known, hair is in close contact with matrix components during the growth phase, and extracellular matrix gradually disappears during the resting phase. It is also known that one of the manifestations of chronic copper deficiency (Menkel's disease) is hair thinning.

The drug contains water (zinc sulfate, vitamin complex, amino acid complex) and oil (saw palmetto extract, tonic essential oils, vitamin complex) phases. The drug also activates microcirculation in the hair follicles, enriches the hair roots with nutrients and vitamins, significantly reducing the amount of hair loss. Restoration of already lost hair is estimated as not so significant.
