Back at the end of the 19th century, the procedure that in modern medicine is called lipofilling of the mammary glands was first performed.
The essence of the method is to form the outline of the female breast and increase its size. The desired result is obtained by transplanting one's own fatty tissues, taken from another part of the body, into the mammary gland area.
Indications for lipofilling of mammary glands
It is worth clarifying right away that this procedure cannot significantly increase the volume of a woman's breasts. There can be no talk of increasing it by two, three or more sizes. The real maximum is one and a half sizes, since the main goal of the technique is to correct the shape of the mammary gland. But the indications for lipofilling of the mammary glands are as follows:
- Correction of shape and volume after clinically justified surgical intervention.
- Reconstruction of mammary glands in case of their asymmetry, which has arisen for various reasons.
- The desire to correct the shape and size of the breasts without resorting to implants.
- Getting rid of scars.
- If during the implantation process there is a lack of tissue layers, the patient’s own fat cells are used.
- Restoration and correction of mammary glands that have lost shape due to childbirth and breastfeeding.
- Smoothing wrinkles, rejuvenation of the chest and décolleté area.
Preparation for lipofilling of mammary glands
A large share of the success of the surgical procedure depends on the correct preparation. Preparation for lipofilling of the mammary glands includes multiple physical and psychological factors.
- First of all, a woman must be psychologically stable before and during the operation.
- The patient's body should not be in the acute phase of a disease of various genesis. Only on this basis can we expect a quick rehabilitation period.
- Before going under the knife, it is worth getting to know the technique itself, the expected result, and possible complications in more detail.
- The doctor who will perform lipofilling of the mammary glands must be warned about the pathology present in the body and the medications that must be taken.
To complete the clinical picture, additional tests must be performed:
- Complete blood count.
- It is necessary to donate blood for biochemistry.
- Clinical examination of urine.
- Testing for hepatitis, HIV infection, and the Wasserman reaction (for syphilis).
- It is imperative to obtain an electrocardiogram (ECG).
- Undergo a fluorography.
- Mammography is mandatory – an X-ray examination performed to confirm or refute the presence of benign or malignant tumors in the chest.
- Ultrasound examination of the mammary glands.
- Consultation with the attending physician to obtain his/her approval for lipofilling of the mammary glands.
- Two weeks before the planned procedure, you should stop taking medications that cause a decrease in blood clotting.
- If the patient smokes, she should refrain from this harmful habit at least a few days before the planned surgery. Since nicotine contributes to the delay of the wound healing process.
- Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited ten days before the event.
- On the day of the planned surgical intervention, you should not eat anything or drink any liquids from the very morning.
- Makeup should not be applied to the face. If nail polish is applied, it must be removed.
- You must bring a different bra with you to the operation. Its size and style should be recommended by the mammologist who will perform the operation. This item of women's clothing must be put on immediately after the procedure.
How is mammary gland lipofilling performed?
On average, this procedure takes from one and a half to two hours and is performed under general anesthesia. Now let's figure out how lipofilling of the mammary glands is performed?
The entire technique for performing lipofilling of the mammary glands is divided into several stages.
- First, it is necessary to extract the required amount of fatty tissue. Usually, the place of its "extraction" is: buttocks, abdominal area and outer thighs. When pumping out the fatty structure, the water-jet liposuction technique is mainly used. The essence of the method:
- At the pumping site, a small incision with a diameter of two to five millimeters is made.
- Take a large syringe. Instead of a needle, a special tube-cannula with a rounded end is used as a nozzle, which allows protecting the body's tissues from damage to nerve endings and blood vessels. Thanks to this tool, you can very carefully separate the necessary fat cells and remove them from the body. After all, the quality of the result obtained is largely based on the condition of the selected material. It is based on this that in the case of lipofilling of the mammary glands, conventional liposuction is not practiced.
- Before further use of the obtained material, it must be processed.
- The fat tissues are placed in a medical centrifuge. Due to the action of centrifugal forces, the fat cells are cleaned of all sorts of "impurities", since as a result of the suction, drops of blood may get onto the sample (if the vessel was hit). Traces of local anesthesia and some "dead" fat cells that died during the sampling usually remain in the syringe.
- A special patch with antiseptic properties is applied to the incision site and should be kept on for about a day.
- Then the collected material is treated with special compounds and covered with special solutions that promote better survival of the fat material in the new location.
- The implantation process itself begins.
- Multiple injections are performed - the doctor evenly distributes the fatty tissue, introducing it using the honeycomb method. The material is supplied to the muscle space, which makes it possible to lift the area of the mammary gland at the injection site.
- After the implantation is complete, the damaged skin areas are covered with a sterile plaster to prevent infection.
- The patient usually spends the day after the operation under the supervision of a doctor.
Clear execution of the necessary actions provides excellent prospects for the rapid recovery of the female body.
Contraindications to lipofilling of mammary glands
Before starting any medical procedure or surgical intervention, it is necessary to undergo a mandatory examination, because even the seemingly most harmless medical procedure in a certain situation can lead to undesirable consequences. There are also contraindications to lipofilling of the mammary glands.
- Diseases affecting the blood system.
- Disorders of the endocrine system, such as diabetes.
- Acute phase of dermatological diseases.
- Oncology present in the woman's body, which is in the metastasis stage.
- The period of menstruation.
- Time of breastfeeding. Only after at least one year has passed since the end of lactation, you can decide on breast correction surgery.
- Acute course of chronic diseases.
- Autoimmune disorders.
Price of lipofilling of mammary glands
If a woman decides to have an operation, she is also interested in the price of breast lipofilling. The final figure will largely depend on several factors. This is the level of the clinic where she is going to seek help, the qualifications of the service personnel, and even the city where this institution is located (for example, in the capital it will cost more than in a provincial town). The price level also depends on the category of equipment used, the medications used, and the degree of complexity of the correction. But you should not chase cheapness. After all, this can cost a woman not only her aesthetic physical beauty, but also significantly undermine her health.
You shouldn't be too greedy for the clinic's advertising prices. The real cost can be much more impressive, including additional related procedures. Therefore, before agreeing to breast lipofilling, you need to clarify what is included in the announced amount. After all, some private clinics practice paying for liposuction as a separate service and do not include it in the price of breast lipofilling. But you should expect that this procedure will cost a woman at least 1.5 thousand dollars.
Reviews of lipofilling of mammary glands
The opinion of both women and men on this issue is categorically ambiguous. But in order to form your own opinion, you need to read reviews of breast lipofilling from women who have already undergone this procedure and can evaluate its long-term result. After all, even the surgeon performing the operation is unable to predict the result of his "witchcraft" unequivocally, since only about 80% of fat cells take root, the rest, being rejected, somewhat deform the result, so two breasts can turn out slightly asymmetrical. This is what some women note in their reviews.
There are respondents who are more categorical, who are definitely against such a procedure, and for a lot of money, considering it absolutely hopeless. But there are also those who are simply delighted with the procedure and believe that it is better to correct the defects resulting from endoprosthetics with lipofilling, a more effective method of restoration has simply not yet been found. Addressing their opponents, some women claim that the technique is really excellent and has helped many women to restore their forms and feel more confident, and the negative result was received by those representatives of the fair sex who incorrectly chose a doctor who performs lipofilling of the mammary glands, because the result of these manipulations largely depends on his skill.
There are not many different methods used to enlarge the breast and correct its shape. One of them is lipofilling of the mammary glands. Of course, it is up to the "owner of the breast" to decide whether to agree to it or not, but still, if you are determined, then there is no need to be afraid. This is truly one of the most effective correction methods. You just have to make sure you choose the right clinic and doctor. After all, in most cases, it is his qualifications that will determine whether you are satisfied with the result or not. Good luck in achieving perfection! And be healthy!
