Laser hair removal is a wonderful procedure for removing excess hair, which allows women and girls to feel like a goddess.

Preparatory procedures and implementation of laser hair removal
To achieve the maximum effect and completely get rid of unwanted hair, before the procedure you need to wait until the areas where hair was previously manually removed (using resin, wax, depilatory creams, depilator) are able to fully recover and grow. The recommended length is three to five millimeters. This is when the process occurs with minimal pain and with the highest degree of efficiency. When the length exceeds, then the hair needs to be cut.
For many people, laser hair removal is painless, as they have a high pain threshold. But there are also patients with a low one, so this process is painful for them. In this case, anesthesia can be used.
Laser hair removal machine
With the help of a laser, energy is directed to the hair, due to which the hair follicle is destroyed. Due to the fact that the hair contains a significant portion of melanin, it absorbs significant laser energy, the skin does not suffer or get damaged at all. Hair is burned by laser energy, the bulbs are damaged or even destroyed. This leads to the fact that unwanted hair stops growing.
Laser facial hair removal
Due to hormonal imbalances in the body or simply some changes, facial hair (especially the moustache above the upper lip and chin hair in women) can increase. This problem occurs especially often with age. Before laser hair removal on the face, it is best to consult a doctor to understand why the hair growth has increased.
Men undergo laser hair removal on their face because of irritation on their face after shaving. Laser hair removal on the face allows you to get rid of this daily exhausting process.
Laser facial hair removal can be a little painful, so local anesthesia can be used if desired.
Laser Bikini Hair Removal
The bikini area is one of the most delicate on the human body, so for many women, removing unwanted hair in this area is quite problematic due to constant irritation, inflammation and pain. Laser hair removal in the bikini area is the most hypoallergenic method and allows you to carefully deal with this problem without damaging the delicate and sensitive skin in this area.
Laser hair removal and photoepilation
In general, laser hair removal is much more effective than photoepilation. But the problem is that laser hair removal cannot cope with delicate vellus hair and light-colored hair, while photoepilation can do this. Therefore, it is now used in cases where laser hair removal does not cope with its tasks.
During photoepilation, hair follicles are destroyed using short-term broadband light flashes. Like laser hair removal, photoepilation is performed in several stages.
Contraindications to laser hair removal
Contraindications to laser hair removal can be relative and absolute.
Relative contraindications:
- pigmentation of hair and skin. If the skin is light and the hair is dark, the procedure will be more effective than in the case of dark skin and light hair. However, now lasers make it possible to remove lighter hair. Laser hair removal is not recommended when the skin is dark and tanned, as a burn may occur.
- pregnancy. The effect of laser hair removal on the fetus is currently unknown. It is believed that it has no negative effect, but doctors do not recommend epilation during pregnancy or breastfeeding. You can remove unwanted hair in the armpits, on the arms, legs, and face, but it is better not to touch the bikini area at this time.
- temporary skin damage or skin problems: presence of wounds, burns, scars, irritations.
- respiratory diseases. During these, it is not recommended to do laser hair removal, as the body is weakened at this time.
Absolute contraindications for laser removal of unwanted hair:
- infections in the areas that will be treated with the laser;
- skin diseases (psoriasis, scleroderma, vitiligo, dermatosis, neurodermatitis, malignant skin diseases, eczema, etc.);
- oncological diseases;
- thyroid problems (with laser hair removal of the neck);
- diabetes mellitus.
With such contraindications, laser hair removal can lead to very negative consequences.
Recommendations after laser hair removal
Contraindicated:
- sunbathe for fourteen days;
- hot bath for three days;
- swimming pool with chlorinated water (first three days);
- exposure of the epilated areas to alcohol-containing products for three days;
How to care for your skin after laser hair removal?
Due to the fact that after the procedures for removing unwanted hair with a laser, the skin is slightly irritated (it turns a little red, the areas near the hair follicles may swell a little), special products are applied to it after everything is finished to eliminate irritation. Such products give an effect after a quarter of an hour, but even without additional efforts, the irritation itself will disappear within an hour or three. If the skin is very sensitive, then small superficial burns may appear. Without treatment, they pass in a week, if they are treated, then even faster.
Redness and burns are removed with Bepanten lotion or Panthenol spray; before going out in the sun, it is recommended to use creams with SPF protection of more than thirty units.
But even if no problems arise, it is better not to use irritating creams after laser hair removal, for example, those containing abrasive particles.
In addition, the laser hair removal course involves several sessions that are periodically repeated. In between, you should refrain from using a vibroepilator, razor, tweezers, wax, depilatory creams when temporarily remaining hair is still appearing. Also, you should not sunbathe for a week after laser hair removal and three weeks before it.
