Henna is a natural substance made from dried leaves of the henna plant. In Eastern countries, it was used to get rid of dandruff, add shine, dye hair, and strengthen it.

Henna can dry hair a little, so it is used on oily hair or on dry hair without applying to the ends. Dark tones when dyeing with henna (up to black) are achieved in combination with basma.
