Traveling is always filled with joy, enthusiasm and anticipation of something new and amazing. In order for the trip to be safe and enjoyable, you need to follow a few rules. In fact, it doesn’t really matter what type of transport you choose to travel. Whether it’s a plane, a car, a train or a ship – don’t forget about 5 important rules and tips for a traveler.
Moisturizing
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the humidity in the cabin of an airplane is less than 20%, and dry air affects the mucous membrane, making a person more susceptible to germs. The skin also reacts negatively to flights. To avoid dehydration, experts advise drinking more water and avoiding alcohol and drinks containing caffeine.
Viral diseases
During outbreaks of seasonal diseases, it is better to reduce your movements and trips as much as possible. However, if you still have to travel, you need to be on the alert to avoid catching a viral disease. There are two ways to spread infectious diseases: by airborne droplets and by touching contaminated surfaces. The risk of getting sick increases significantly if a sick person is sitting next to, in front of, or behind you. If you cannot change seats, at least use a saline spray or lubricate the inside of your nose with oxolinic ointment.
Insurance
You should definitely think about insurance, especially if you are going on a long trip. Of course, few people think about possible injuries when there is only a beautiful picture in their head and the ability to think is clouded by a lot of positive emotions. But if troubles cannot be avoided, regrets will not help, but insurance will be very useful.
Sea voyages
Many people enjoy the sea breeze, while others suffer from motion sickness and prefer to travel by land or air. Unfortunately, no one is immune not only from seasickness, but also from the so-called "stomach flu", caused by noroviruses. The infection can spread due to poor sanitary conditions on board the ship. Symptoms of the disease include diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, and abdominal pain. The most effective remedy that should not be neglected on board a ship, and in principle everywhere, is thorough hand washing, which will help reduce the risk of contracting norovirus.
Vitaminization
To feel good while traveling, it is very important that the body is sufficiently “fed” with vitamins and minerals. Be sure to include whole grain products, vegetables and fruits in your diet. Vitamin C is effective for preventing diseases and strengthening the immune system. And zinc will help to avoid colds. It is found in the following products: lentils, peas, beans, pumpkin seeds and whole grain products.
