It is hard to imagine a modern person who can do without a cup of strong coffee or tea in the morning before work or in the office, before the start of the working day. The established phrase: "to go for coffee" can mean anything, and this speaks of the importance this drink has acquired in our lives. Experts argue about which drink is healthier, more invigorating and, of course, tastier. Botanists from the Royal Botanic Garden in London will be able to surprise and delight supporters of both tea and coffee. A drink has been discovered that combines the beneficial properties of both products: tea from large coffee leaves has every chance of becoming the drink of the future.
An international team of European scientists has invented a new version of an invigorating and tonic morning drink - coffee tea. Botanists claim that a cup of hot tea brewed from coffee leaves will be a good alternative to coffee and tea separately. If we talk about the taste of the new hot drink, then by trial and error the best proportion of coffee tree leaves and boiling water was determined. It is assumed that the drink will taste more like coffee than tea, which will please tea lovers. But at the same time, the drink will not be as strong and bitter as classic black coffee.

Scientists who study the traditions of Asian and African countries report that the idea is not new, because the so-called "coffee tea" or, more simply, a decoction of coffee tree leaves is popular among the local population of the Indonesian islands and some countries of the African continent. These leaves were tried to be exported to Europe several centuries ago, but, unfortunately, due to the specific taste, the drink did not catch on. Later, the coffee tree was valued only for its beans.
As for the beneficial properties, the drink is expected to contain a large number of antioxidants and useful substances. In addition, the amount of caffeine will be slightly less than in black coffee or green tea. Scientists promise that the drink will even have medicinal properties: antioxidants and anti-inflammatory substances contained in the leaves of the coffee tree will strengthen the immune system. A high level of mangiferin will provide the ability to reduce cholesterol levels and, possibly, reduce the risk of diabetes.
Initially, scientists from France were not sure about the beneficial properties that, as they believed, were groundlessly attributed to the recently invented drink. In their opinion, it was not for nothing that attempts to introduce it in European countries failed back in the early nineteenth century. In fact, the drink acquired an unpleasant aftertaste only because of incorrectly selected proportions. Today, a recipe has been invented that will help coffee tea find a sufficient number of adherents.
In addition to the tonic effect, which is so necessary in the morning, tea from coffee leaves can eliminate the feeling of hunger, which will be appreciated by women who watch their figure. People who earn their living by intellectual work will like the fact that the drink can "cleanse" the brain of unnecessary information and significantly reduce fatigue.
