Coffee is a drink that causes many controversial opinions regarding its benefits. However, scientists continue to find new benefits in its consumption.

Thus, quite recently, specialists representing Harvard University conducted a large-scale study, which involved about 130 thousand volunteers. The experiment lasted for more than four years.

The authors of the experiment found that regular consumption of natural coffee has a positive effect on the function of the central nervous system. In addition, a number of diseases were identified in which coffee can become a kind of medicine.

For example, during the study it was discovered that an invigorating morning drink is capable of blocking the development of a large number of neurodegenerative disorders – and this is a whole group of pathologies that occur against the background of destructive processes in the brain, which ultimately leads to dementia and radical personality changes.

Coffee contains a lot of substances that are useful for the body, including important microelements that play a preventive role in the development of liver cirrhosis.

Regular consumption of the drink has a positive effect on the functioning of the pancreas, providing reliable protection against the development of diabetes.

At the same time, scientists made an unexpected and important conclusion: those subjects who drank a fairly large volume of coffee daily - at least six cups a day - did not have an increased risk of dying from cardiovascular failure. Moreover, drinking six cups of the drink turned out to be the most optimal for providing a therapeutic effect. True, with a caveat: the coffee must be natural and freshly brewed. But experts still do not advise older people to drink more than 2-3 cups during the day.

Another positive conclusion: periodic consumption of caffeine prevented the occurrence of heart rhythm disturbances, namely atrial fibrillation. However, here too there is a note: if arrhythmia already exists, then you need to be careful with coffee.

Further food for thought: average doses of caffeine, equivalent to about six cups, can prevent the development of pathologies such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, etc.

However, as Harvard University experts claim, one should not rush into such a "treatment" with coffee. It is easy to overdo it with this drink, since caffeine affects many people differently - this depends, first of all, on the characteristics of the central nervous system of a particular person.

It is also not recommended to combine coffee beans and alcoholic beverages. For example, coffee with cognac or liqueur increases the likelihood of a heart attack - after all, the load on the human heart increases several times.

And finally, one more pleasant property of the invigorating drink that will appeal to all coffee lovers without exception: brewing and drinking high-quality coffee beans helps slow down the aging process in the body.
