Researchers from Japan have found a link between regular consumption of coffee or green tea and a reduced risk of premature death.

The new scientific project involved men and women aged 40 to 70. The study lasted 19 years, during which each participant (more than 90,000 people in total) reported on their diet every day.

After analyzing the information, scientists noticed that when drinking 1-2 cups of coffee daily, the risk of early death decreases by 15%, and for those who preferred to drink more than two cups a day (up to 4 cups) – by 24%.

The same situation was observed with green tea lovers. Men who drank several cups of green tea a day (more than five) had a 13% lower risk of early death (women had a 17% lower risk) compared to those who did not drink the beverage at all.

Both coffee and green tea contain caffeine, which, according to Japanese experts, protects the body. Scientists have already proven the benefits of green tea. One of the benefits of this drink is its ability to normalize weight, but for this, it should be drunk at least seven cups a day.

Coffee, like green tea, is considered a tonic drink. It contains more than a thousand different chemical compounds, of which about 800 are responsible for the taste and aroma of the drink. Coffee also contains amino acids, microelements and vitamins, but abuse of this drink can provoke increased heart rate, insomnia, increased cholesterol and brittle bones.

In one of the latest studies, experts have discovered another property in green tea: it helps fight cancer cells in the oral cavity. The substance EGCG contained in green tea destroys malignant tumor cells in the mouth, without affecting healthy ones. Work in this direction is still underway, and experts have yet to study the principle of action of this substance.

Premature death is considered to be death before the age of 65. Early death often occurs due to cardiovascular pathologies, including sudden cardiac death, which is not preceded by any symptoms. According to statistics, a common cause of death in men over 35 is coronary heart disease, in women, mortality from vascular and heart diseases is 5 times less. The development of coronary heart disease is facilitated by nervous psychological stress, a high degree of responsibility at work, the need to restrain emotions, as well as so-called "sedentary" work. Experts recommend that men over 35 undergo regular examinations (even if there are no complaints) to prevent factors that can lead to coronary heart disease.

The risk group also includes women suffering from obesity, hormonal disorders, diabetes. All these disorders lead to increased levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, etc., which can provoke cardiovascular pathologies.

Also, the risk of developing coronary heart disease is increased in women with nicotine addiction, however, severe complications and premature death are not as common among women.
